Product Research

Features

Overview: The AQ-SPK3.0-4S waterproof speaker is a robust, durable, high quality speaker designed to withstand the harsh conditions of spa and hot tub use. Rated at 30 Watts RMS (60W peak power) and with a frequency response of 125Hz-20kHz, this compact 3" speaker can deliver clear full-range output and is ideal for installations with space restraints or for use in conjunction with larger speakers.

Waterproof Design: The AQ-SPK3.0-4S speaker is fully waterproof, as well as UV light and salt protected. It features a polypropylene cone with rubber surround and ferrite magnet, all housed in a durable ABS plastic enclosure, and includes a metal-mesh grill. The speaker requires a cutout diameter of 2.80" and 1.875" of mounting depth. Along with the three screws provided for mounting, the backside of the speaker flange includes a pre-installed rubber gasket for providing a tight seal against the mounting surface.

  • Note: This speaker is not designed to be fully submerged or mounted below the water line.

Wiring: The speaker includes 20" of attached wire terminated in a proprietary 2-pin connector. If not using a matching harness, the connector will need to be cut off and the wires spliced directly to any additional extension wire.

Q
How many mounting holes are there on this speaker?

A
From the picture it looks like 3. Also, the description in the detailed specs includes the following: "Along with the three screws provided for mounting, the backside of the speaker flange includes a pre-installed rubber gasket for providing a tight seal against the mounting surface." So it seems there are 3. I should receive mine tomorrow and will update this answer if there is anything other than than 3 mounting holes.

How to remove old speakers?

Hi. It's very easy. Poop the covers off Just unscrew the three screws from the out side. It might look like it won't come out but the whole thing will come out. You may have to use A tool to pry it out. Remove all our glue. Remove the outer panel to access the plugs.

Cover pops off, then you remove for Phillips head screws!
[ MICHAEL  Aug 31, 2019 ]
A
Dont recall if the covers twisted off or if i popped them from side with screwdiver but it wasnt hard, after cover is off, there was 3 or 4 phillip screw driver headed screws to remove then it comes out easy, just dont drop the connection wires down the hole when disconnecting or you may find yourself fishing for them for the reconnection process.
