Double your reach

If you shoot sports or wildlife, sometimes a little extra reach makes all the difference in getting the winning shot. The Olympus MC-20  M. Zuiko 2X teleconverter is a lightweight, compact alternative to lugging around a bulky extra lens. Attached between your Olympus camera body and a compatible lens, it doubles the lens's effective focal length without degrading image resolution.

This converter is currently only compatible with Olympus's M. Zuiko ED 40-150mm f/2.8 PRO zoom lens and M. Zuiko 300mm f/4 IS PRO telephoto prime lens. It will increase their effective focal lengths to 160-600mm and 1200mm respectively — some serious telephoto reach.

Product Research

Features

Overview: The Olympus M.Zuiko Digital 2X Teleconverter MC-20 lets you double the focal length of select M.Zuiko lenses. The teleconverter maintains the same outstanding image quality, high-speed auto-focusing, and image stabilization when mounted between your OM-D camera body and M.Zuiko PRO lenses. The MC-20 is compatible with the following lenses:

Rugged Construction: The MC-20 is designed for use in rugged and adverse conditions. The 2X Teleconverter, like the M.Zuiko PRO lenses, is dustproof, splashproof, and freezeproof. The lens features 9 elements in 4 groups, including a HR lens to reduce chromatic aberration. The Olympus ZERO (Zuiko Extra-low Reflection Optical) Coating dramatically reduces reflections, ghosts, and flare to give you a clear, high-contrast image. The MC-20 reduces the aperture value of the lens by 2 EV steps.

Closeup Capability: The teleconverter lets you get high quality closeup images of wildlife while still maintaining a safe distance from the subject. The MC-20 and the M.Zuiko Digital ED 300mm F4.0 IS PRO lens gives you the ability to focus as close as 4'-8". The performance of the MC-20 with its compatible lenses is as follows:

Lens Maximum Focal Length
(35mm equivalent)
Maximum Image Magnification
(35mm equivalent)
M.Zuiko Digital ED
300mm F4.0 IS PRO + MC-20

M.Zuiko Digital ED
40-150mm F2.8 PRO + MC-20

Lens Firmware Note: You should update the firmware of your 40-150mm or 300mm lens BEFORE mounting it on the teleconverter. Failure to do so will result in an incomplete download.
