Product Research

Features

Overview: The Battery Grip BG-R10 is designed for the Canon EOS R5 and R6 mirrorless digital cameras. Included with the battery grip is the BGM-R10 battery magazine which can hold up to two LP-E6NH, LP-E6N, or LP-E6 Lithium-Ion battery packs. No batteries are included with the battery grip. When installed on the EOS R5/R6, the BG-R10 adds approximately 2" to the overall height of the camera.

Installation: After removing the battery and battery compartment cover from the camera, the BG-R10 mounts to the bottom of the camera, held in place by threading the attachment screw into the camera's tripod insert. An additional tripod insert is provided on the bottom of the grip. One or two LP-E6NH, LP-E6N, or LP-E6 batteries can be installed into the BGM-R10. When two batteries are installed in the magazine, power is supplied simultaneously from both batteries, effectively doubling the battery life.

Note: After the battery compartment cover is removed, it can be stored on the upright part of the battery grip to prevent loss. In addition, there is a convenient receptacle for storing the small terminal cover inside the larger cover.

Battery Life: Using one or two LP-E6NH batteries in the BG-R10, the battery capacity of the EOS R5 and R6 cameras are as follows:

Shooting Method Temperature Battery Life
EOS R5
Battery Life
EOS R6
Monitor (2 batteries)

73°F / 23°C

970 shots 1020 shots
Monitor (1 battery) 480 shots ---
Viewfinder (2 batteries) 640 shots 750 shots

Using Household Power: To connect to a household power outlet, the optional AC Adapter Kit AC-E6N (sold separately) should be used. The DR-E6 DC coupler fits into one of the LP-E6N slots in the Battery Grip. The coupler's cord exits through an opening in the battery grip.

Controls: The Battery Grip BG-R10 is equipped with several controls, conveniently placed for use when the camera is in the vertical (portrait orientation) position. The controls include the Shutter button, Multi-Function (M-Fn) button, AF Start (AF-ON) button, AE Lock (*) button, AF point selection button, Magnify/Reduce button, Multi-controller, Main dial, and Quick Control dial 2. The vertical grip operation switch lets you switch between using the controls on the battery grip (On) and the controls on the camera body (Off).

Weight: The BG-R10 weighs approximately 12.35 ounces (without batteries).
