About the Canon Control Ring Mount Adapter EF-EOS R

Keep using your favorite Canon DSLR lenses with your EOS R mirrorless camera

There's been a lot of buzz surrounding the release of Canon's first full-frame mirrorless camera. Canon has already released a handful of high-quality RF-mount lenses for the EOS R, but if you already shoot with a Canon DSLR, you don't have to wait for more lens options to max out this camera's imaging potential. This low-profile mount adapter lets you keep using your existing EF and EF-S lenses with full functionality. The camera even recognizes when you attach an EF-S lens and will crop your images accordingly.

Take control

Canon's RF lenses have a cool extra feature that their DSLR lenses lack — a control ring on the barrel that lets you make quick adjustments to settings like aperture, shutter speed, exposure compensation, and more. This mount adapter adds the control ring to your EF and EF-S lenses.

Product Research

Features

Overview: The Canon Control Ring Mount Adapter EF-EOS R is designed to allow EF-series lenses to be used with EOS R-series cameras. The adapter adds a control ring like those found on RF-series lenses, giving you the same control for your EF and EF-S lenses. You can also use the same setting configurations, regardless of the lens. The adapter enables autofocusing, image stabilizers, and other functions. The Control Ring Mount Adapter EF-EOS R comes with a soft storage case.

Control Ring: The Control Ring can be assigned to the functions that are commonly used on the camera, including shutter speed and aperture settings, or exposure compensation. The ring has a clicking mechanism that acts as a confirmation that the settings are being changed.

Note: The clicking sound could possibly be picked up by the microphone while shooting movies. If you desire a silent control ring, the clicking mechanism can be removed by a Canon service provider (for a fee).
