I love my new G5X; the image quality, form-factor and control set are just what the doctor ordered, lol....
Pros: Awsome feature set and image quality, love the manual controls. Perfect companion camera for my G3X. Very bright F1.8-2.8 lens combined with quick auto-focus make this a very handy camera for indoor and low-light use. The small size of the camera lets it live in a belt holster to go with me 24/7. Curiously, the LowePro camera bag which Crutchfield shipped with my G5X actually has enough room to fit both the G5X and G3X together... Go figure...!!
Cons: Lens may be a bit soft at wide-open aperture and full wide-angle, may need to apply in-camera sharpening to compensate. Need to check that out a bit more, as not sure yet.

Great Camera with the hard to find combo of a good viewfinder, and a fully articulated screen. For a compact camera it has a good grip for my larger hands. When the camera is set right it gives you great almost SLR like shots. I am knocking it down 1 star for not having 4k video at this price range and for how easy it is to hit the "+/-" dial.
Pros: Articulating screen Viewfinder Good grip for a compact camera
Cons: No 4k video options "+/-" knob to easy to hit

I have a Canon 40D, and like many amateurs, I got to the point where I wished I could get the same quality of shots without having to lug a SLR around. Well now, I have something I can sling around my neck (this Canon G5X) that takes beautiful images and crisp and clear 1080P videos. I took a big risk leaving my 40D at home during our vacation to 5 Asian countries. Well, no regrets! I was able to travel light and still too great pix. I just wish I bought a second battery. I was able to charge quickly from a power pack via USB, but a second battery would have been more convenient. Once I figured out how to set it up as a WiFi Access point, it made transferring videos and pictures to my iPhone a breeze.
Pros: Great pictures and videos. Compact, but feels rugged - not flimsy and fragile. Flash works great for as little as it is.
Cons: Setup items can be hard to find.
