Great camera so far. This was an open box from Crutchfield and was in perfect condition. I was using an older Canon Vixia and this one is light years ahead.
Pros: Easy menu options Fantastic picture quality
Cons: Larger than I expected

Before I purchased Canon's G60, I initially purchased Sony's AX700. While I appreciate Canon for digital still photography, I usually prefer Sony for video. Both the Canon and the Sony models have similar specs. Both have the essential 1" sensor. The Sony has a slightly smaller body (the Canon is a bit large and bulky but more stable in your hand). Canon shoots in MP4 (Sony in AVCHD) which is so much easier to use as a finished product. I've found software much more receptive to MP4. Both are great video cameras. Yet, there are some real evident differences worth mention here: 1) Canon's G60 is Made In Japan. The Sony AX700 is Made In China. 2) The build-quality and precision fit is superior on the Canon G60. 3) Canon has a USA based call center for support and Sony has their call center in The Philippines. 4) Canon has both a lens hood and a lens cap. The lens hood has a cover that opens/closes (Sony does not have a open/close feature). 5) The Canon is less expensive despite its better quality. 6) The touch-screen on the Canon G60 is far more responsive than Sony's. 7) Canon's user manual is larger and has larger font sizes. 8) Packaging and protection in the box is excellent on the Canon for shipment. 9) Buttons and controls are better placed for user ease of use plus on-screen menus are laid out like Canon still cameras. Crutchfield got the camera to me in just two days. Amazing customer service.
