Overview: The Canon SELPHY Square QX10 is a compact dye-sublimation photo printer that produces up to 2.7" square prints. The printer has a resolution of 287 x 287 dpi and 256 gradations (levels) per color (Yellow, Cyan, and Magenta). The QX10 uses Canon XS-20L paper and ink cassettes made expressly for the printer. It is powered by a built-in rechargeable battery. You can print from mobile devices via Wi-Fi through the Canon SELPHY Photo Layout app (available from the Apple App Store or Google Play).
Dye Sublimation Technology: Dye-Sublimation technology uses heat to transfer the ink to the paper, reproducing a full range of realistic tones and shadings, so color is natural and true-to-life. For durability, the SELPHY Square QX10 adds a transparent, protective "100 Years Print" coating to each print that shields it from the damaging effects of sunlight and humidity, as well as splashes and spills.
Print Sizes: The SELPHY Square QX10 prints on paper that is approximately 2.84" x 3.35". In the Canon SELPHY Photo Layout 2.0 app, you can select the print sizes of approximately 2.7 x 2.7 inches, 2.6 x 2.6 inches, or 2.4 x 2.4 inches. The Canon XS-20L paper comes in packs of 20 sheets each, while the printer tray holds up to 10 sheets at a time. Each print has a peel-off adhesive backing* that allows you to stick your prints on desired surfaces. The packs also include an ink cassette with the capacity to print 20 photos. Printing speed is approximately 43 seconds per sheet, depending on room temperature.
*Note: The paper has a very light adhesiveness, that allows you to easily reposition or reapply your photos.
SELPHY Photo Layout App: The printer connects wirelessly via Wi-Fi to your mobile device (phone or tablet). The device must have the Canon SELPHY Photo Layout app (version 2.0 or later). On the app, you can select the photos for printing and the border size. You can also choose an N-up layout, with multiple full images on the same print. Images can be edited by trimming, moving, scaling, rotating, or reversing. You can add filters, effects, stickers, and more to personalize your photos, all without the need for additional software. The SELPHY Photo Layout app is compatible with iPhone and iPad, running iOS 11.0 or later, and with Android devices (version varies with device).
Rechargeable Battery: The printer is powered by a built-in rechargeable battery. On a full charge, the battery has enough power to print approximately 20 sheets (depending on room temperature). The battery charges in approximately 2 hours (at room temperature) using the included USB cable and a USB AC charging adapter (not included).
