More details on the Canon RS-80N3
Overview: The Canon RS-80N3 Remote Switch is a wired remote control switch compatible with the N3 type remote control terminal of select Canon digital cameras. It enables you to release the shutter from up to 2.6' away from your camera, eliminating camera shake problems. Used in combination with the optional 32' extension cord (ET-1000N3, available from Canon), you can control the camera from an even greater distance. This is especially useful for wild-life photography.
Compatibility: The Canon RS-80N3 Wired Remote Switch is compatible with select Canon EOS cameras which are equipped with a Canon's proprietary N3 type remote control terminal. The RS-80N3 features a 32" cord terminated by a male proprietary N3 connector which plugs into your Canon camera's female proprietary N3 port.
Operation: The Wired Remote Switch features a single release button that has two stages. Pressing the button to the first stage initiates focusing, shutter speed, and aperture; and by pressing to the second stage, the shutter of your connected camera is released. The release button can be locked for long-exposure photographs and continuous photography.
