Guard your home theater system against harmful spikes and power fluctuations with the Panamax SP8-AV. This surge suppressor also filters out the RF (radio frequency) and electromagnetic interference that can degrade your system's performance.

The SP8-AV comes with eight outlets, each conveniently spaced to allow for bulky transformers. A set of coaxial input/output jacks protects your cable, antenna, or digital satellite TV connections. There's also a protected telephone line input/output.

The surge suppressor reacts in less than a nanosecond during a spike, breaking the connection to keep your equipment safe. The 6-ft. power cord's right-angle plug hugs the wall, for an easy fit behind a chair or sofa.

Q
Can you use this on refrigerators?

A
I bought this unit to use for my TV and related electronics. So I can't confirm it works for refrigerators and/or other appliances. I would suggest going online to look up the service manual on the Panamax Corp. website, or give them a call. Good luck!
[ GARY  Jul 25, 2021 ]
A
I don't see why not. 110v
[ GRANT  Jul 25, 2021 ]
A
No! A refrigerator should always be plugged directly into its own wall socket! This could potentially be very dangerous to have multiple items sharing a power strip with a refrigerator!!!
[ Mitchell  Jul 25, 2021 ]
A
I don't know for sure.. Crutchfield service center phone help is very good on this stuff. You must check your refrigerator specs and they will give you the best advice they can find. Personally, my refrigerator is directly wired to a circuit breaker and I have never thought about a surge protector for that. This may not be effective but it is all I do so far. I use this Panamax for cable box, lap top, phone protection and when I charge devices. I think it is very effective for TV, cable box and other devices in your audio-visual set-up. Those were the things that I have seen in my life that are the most vulnerable to surges. I am no expert.

Q
Will this protect a/v equipment when using a portable generator for power?
[ David  Jun 27, 2021 ]

A
I seriously doubt it would protect equipment running on a generator. Best to contact manufacturer.
[ Ben  Jun 27, 2021 ]
Q
Please let me the distance between each outlet and between the end outlets and the raised ridge. I have one plug that's just over 3" (sideways), one just under 3" (sideways), and one that's 2" (upright/up/down). Plus 4 regular plugs. I'd love them all to fit. Will they? Thank you.

It sounds like your power cords will fit into this, but I do not have the measurements you ask for to confirm it. I could not find them in our information or on Panamax's website. I recommend contacting them by calling 800-472-5555 to see if they can supply those measurements to confirm

Can I put a UPS after this power conditioner with no ill effects?

I have no idea. You may want to ask Crutchfield tech support.
[ William  Sep 12, 2020 ]

Not recommended, look into daisy chaining and the risks.

Q
I'm looking to upgrade the power protection in my headphone setup. I would be connecting a Schiit Mani preamp to this, which is prone to RF interference. From what I've read, connecting a braided ground strap from the phono ground to the power conditioner will help. My question is, if I were to try that with this Panamax, where would I even connect the strap on it?

I am more than satisfied with the panamax, but I amafraid I cannot answer the question. Sorry.
