Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)
How can I give a simple speaker grille a 5-star? Simple. Many years ago, I decided to put custom MDF/carpeted kickpanels in my pickup. I used MB Quart mounts. When I later changed to Infinity Kappa drivers, I wanted to use Infinity logo grilles- and as luck would have it- the screens were a direct match. Fast forward a few years and Helix Esprit grille meshes were likewise adaptable to the MBQ plastic. Now that Ive changed to Hertz SPLs in the fronts (which dont come with grilles) I was VERY pleased to discover they too were a "standard" 6.5-6.75" mesh (only used the metal grilles). This interchangability was a plus for ME. The OTHER thing I do like about these grilles, for use in a kickpanel location- is the raised sections do help keep the metal from flexing inward, should someone inadvertently push against them with a shoe.
Pros: Standard size push in mesh allows using these grilles in most other manufacturers plastic mounts (if need be)
Cons: Would have bought the mesh only if it was available separately. (Probably save $.50)
