About the Hertz HMX 6.5 S-LD
High-performance speakers with LED light
High-performance speakers with LED light
Hertz designed their HMX 6.5 S-LD 6-1/2” marine speakers to bring high-quality audio to any boat or powersports vehicle. These rugged speakers will handle up to 75 watts RMS, so they'll be able to cut through the noise from your engine and the wind. The cool, built-in RGB LED lights will add a very nifty look to your boat, too.
Multi-color LED lighting!
Designed to perform
These high-performance marine speakers don't require an enclosure, so you can install them in just about any suitable location. They'll deliver maximum high-end fidelity when you're out on the water on running down a trail, thanks to big magnets, polypropylene cones, and a tweeter lens that optimizes off-axis dispersion.
Built-in LED light
These Hertz speakers bring something extra to the party – LED lighting. The RGB LED lighting circuit sits just below the tweeter and it's protected by a transparent cover that also acts as a light diffuser. In order to control the multi-color RBG, you'll need an RGB controller (sold separately).
Ready for action
The speaker basket and grille are made from a rugged, UV-resistant polymer that stands up to water, dust, and mud, while the stainless steel mesh grille protects the tweeter from both dirt and damage. An Aramid fiber spider, silicone-insulated leads, and Santoprene rubber surround also help keep these durable speakers performing at a high level. They're built for boating, but they're also a great choice for a custom installation in any off-road vehicle that sees hard-core, all-weather use.

LED Illumination: There are multi colored LEDs behind the tweeter casing, to create a glow on the woofer cone. Depending on what combination of LED wires is connected, they can light red, green, blue, yellow, purple, cyan, or white. A 12-volt power supply is needed to turn the LEDs on and each LED circuit should be fused.
Size: With a required cutout diameter of approximately 5", these speakers fit into the openings for standard 6½" car speakers, but the frame is much bigger than a typical 6½" and the screw hole pattern is different. Because the grille is not designed to be removed, the mounting height is also greater than most car speakers. For these reasons, the speakers won't fit in most car applications.
Infinite-Baffle Operation: The speakers are optimized for infinite baffle operation, so they can be installed in a variety of locations without the need for a dedicated enclosure.
