Improve your sound by a thousand

Some things are worth indulging in, and the enjoyment of your daily drive is one of them. Install the Mille Series MPX 165.3 PRO 6-1/2" car speakers in your vehicle and you'll experience the very best of what Hertz has to offer: a passionate approach to premium sound.

Innovative design

Hertz thoughtfully integrates a Tetolon fiber dome tweeter flush at the base of the woofer cone, rather than on a post jutting out from the woofer. This concentric design, highly regarded by audiophiles in home speakers, minimizes phase problems for a natural timbre and detailed soundstage. For more impactful lows, each speaker employs a "Boundary Free" rubber surround with its enhanced pressed pulp and cotton fiber cone to move more air with accuracy. Superior damping is also key to the sound of these speakers — minimized resonance reduces distortion for a truer-to-life sound.

The Hertz philosophy

Hertz believes that a good speaker should reveal the emotional power of the music you love. That's a high bar, but with their commitment to using premium components and boundary-pushing design, they're more than up to challenge. Comprised of music lovers, Hertz is committed to optimizing your car's sound system for total audio enjoyment.

Grilles are not included; the factory grilles should be suitable for most applications.

These are excellent speakers. I installed a set in my 98 Grand Cherokee. Did lots of deadening, I am running a XR900-5 amp. Bridged the 4 channel section to send 150 watts to each side. These have strong bass response, enough to get my side mirrors vibrating, and the mids and highs are very clean and balanced, even up to high volume levels. Definitely recommend these.

They sound pretty good in my 2005 Acura TSX, but I need a more powerful amp to drive them

Pros: Sounds good but I don't know if the cost is worth it

Cons: Had to use an adapter to fit the speakers in the door, but it's not a deal breaker

Loud & Clear on a Harley

Ben from Woodbridge, VA on 9/25/2018

I installed these in my 2014 Harley Street Glide along with an aftermarket radio and amp and I can't say enough about how loud, clear and clean these sound. I've had to actually turn them down because of how loud they can get even with a 2 to 1 aftermarket exhaust. I was hesitant to use them in my fairing due to rain, the speakers aren't waterproof; but they are water resistant. I've ridden through a few rain storms and they kept playing with no issues. I highly recommend them to anyone with a Harley. The only thing they really miss is real mid bass; but then again, at 80 mph on a bike, I don't really need mid bass.

Pros: Loud Clear Clean Work great in the rain

Cons: Mid bass lacks

Features

Concentric Coaxial Tweeter: The recessed tweeter is coincidentally mounted with the woofer cone, so sound radiates from the same point for both. This minimizes phase error and improves time alignment.

Aluminum Basket: The aluminum basket is rigid and non-magnetic.

Boundary Free Surround: This technology provides more cone surface area than other speakers of the same size, enabling it to move more air. The surrounds are made of butyl rubber, ensuring thermal and mechanical linearity.

Size Classification Note: Some manufacturers, including Hertz, call this size speaker a 6-1/2". Because it requires a larger cutout than a standard 6-1/2" speaker, Crutchfield has traditionally referred to this size speaker as a 6-3/4". Please enter your vehicle information to confirm fit.

Q
Is 75W per channel enough for these (for ~90% of maximum performance) or will they be significantly hindered without 100W per channel?
[ Ashot Of SQ  Mar 13, 2019 ]
1 answer
A
No I think 75 watts of good, clean power should be plenty for those speakers. They have a sensitivity of 92 dB so they are pretty efficient.
