About the Samsung LN-T5265F
With a screen measuring 52 inches diagonally, the Samsung LN-T5265F is one of their biggest and most impressive flat-panel HDTVs. With full 1920 x 1080-pixel resolution, its screen nearly doubles the pixel count of the typical 50" plasma. 1080p is a pixel-perfect match for most current HD material, and looking ahead, it's definitely the way to go.
High-contrast, color-saturated images
Samsung has been one of the leaders at improving the contrast and black level performance of LCD TVs. It used to be that "LCD black" was more like a milky gray, but the LN-T5265F's blacks really look black. And if it bugs you when a TV's colors don't look true, put this Samsung on your must-see list. A "wide color gamut" fluorescent backlight helps the LN-T5265F reproduce 25% more of the broadcast TV color range than standard LCDs do.
The shiny screen surface enhances clarity when viewed straight on, but it also tends to reflect room lights more than most LCD TVs, so this Samsung is best enjoyed with the lights turned low.
A wealth of high-def options
The LN-T5265F includes tuners for receiving both analog and digital over-the-air broadcasts (antenna required). Cable TV subscribers can use the built-in "QAM" tuner to tune in unscrambled cable channels without a set-top box. With three HDMI inputs and two component video, it's easy to add multiple high-definition video sources like an HD satellite tuner or video game console. The set's HDMI inputs can accept 1080p signals like those available from a few of the latest high-def disc players.
New HDMI connections enhance remote-control operation
Home theater fans love HDMI connections for their pristine picture clarity and single-cable simplicity. Here's more good news the LN-T5265F's Anynet+ HDMI connections include "CEC" control capability, which lets you control other compatible HDMI-connected components using only the TV's remote. That's a huge plus if you keep your components out of sight in a cabinet or closet. You have total control without resorting to complicated remote booster systems.
Tip: For a list of over-the-air digital TV stations you can receive, as well as antenna recommendations for your location, enter your zip code in AntennaWeb's mapping tool.

More details on the Samsung LN-T5265F
Features & specs
HDTV (ATSC) Tuner: The LN-T5265F has a built-in over-the-air HDTV (ATSC) tuner, so you don't have to purchase a separate digital set-top box to receive and decode over-the-air HDTV/SDTV signals.
Native Resolution: The LN-T5265F has a display resolution of 1920 x 1080 and scales all inputs for display at 1080p. The HDMI and component video inputs will accept 1080p, 1080i, 720p, 480p, and 480i signals.
Wide Color Gamut CCFL: The wide range CCFL (Cold Cathode Fluorescent Lamp) ensures truer, more vivid colors.
Dynamic Contrast: When watching very bright or very dark scenes, it can be difficult to distinguish images that blend in with the background. Dynamic Contrast corrects this by automatically adjusting the back light intensity, resulting in a 15,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio.
Digital Natural Image Engine (DNIe): Samsung's exclusive Digital Natural Image engine dramatically improves the picture by enhancing the contrast, detail, and white balance, and reducing noise. DNIe can be turned off, or a demo mode shows a split screen with a DNIe enhanced picture on the right and DNIe off on the left.
10-bit Processing: Samsung's 10-bit processing method produces 12.8 billion lifelike colors to ensure a more natural and vivid picture and aids in video signal processing of analog sources.
Wiselink: A side-panel USB port allows you to connect a USB mass storage device (MSC) to view JPEG files and play MP3 audio files. You have access to the following functions:

Input Source Names: You can assign a preprogrammed name to each of the inputs. When input naming is completed, you will no longer have to remember which component is connected to each input when selecting a source to watch. Source names include VCR, DVD, D-VHS, Cable STB, HD STB, Satellite STB, PVR STB, AV Receiver, DVD Receiver, Game, Camcorder, DVD Combo, PC, VOD STB, and TV.
Channel Labels: Each analog channel programmed into memory can be labeled with a name up to 5 characters. Digital channels names are already assigned and cannot be edited.
Favorite Channel: You can create a list of your favorite channels and recall the list using the FAV.CH button on the remote.
PC-Capable: This unit has a 15-pin D-Sub (RGB) input that allows you to use it as a high-resolution computer monitor. The HDMI 1 input can also be used with a computer. The TV can be set to automatically adjust to the video signals received, or you can use the setup menu to adjust the screen quality and position. No cables are supplied for connecting the TV to a PC.
Picture-In-Picture (PIP): The Picture-In-Picture feature allows you to watch two video sources (TV, VCR, DVD) simultaneously. The Picture-In-Picture feature allows you to view an analog TV broadcast on the PIP screen (sub-picture) when the main picture is from an external device connected by HDMI, Component or PC. The TV has only one tuner, so you cannot watch two TV channels at the same time. There are three PIP views: Double Window (side-by-side split screens and each screen has a 4:3 aspect ratio), Double Wide (side-by-side split screens and each screen has a 16:9 aspect ratio), or standard picture-in-picture (a small window inside the full screen). In the standard picture-in-picture mode, the inset PIP window can be moved to any of the screen's four corners. PIP will not work while the V-chip or xvYCC is in use.
Freeze: The still button allows you to freeze an image on the screen, it can only be activated from the remote control. When you freeze the picture the audio continues normally.
Digital Signal Strength Meter: The digital signal strength meter can be used to help you find the antenna position that delivers the highest HDTV digital signal strength.
Analog Channel Fine Tuning: The fine tuning feature allows you to manually adjust analog channels for optimal reception. A separate fine tuning setting may be put into the TV's memory for each analog channel.
Low Noise Amplifier (LNA): In a weak signal area reception might be improved by boosting the incoming signal using the LNA function. A separate LNA setting may be put into the TV's memory for each channel.
Auto Volume: Auto volume automatically adjusts the volume of the desired channel, lowering the sound output when the modulation signal is high or raising the sound output when the modulation signal is low. This reduces the difference in volume when changing channels.
Digital Noise Reduction: If the broadcast signal received by your TV is weak, you can activate the Digital Noise Reduction feature to help reduce any static and ghosting that may appear on the screen.
Automatic Sound Settings: You can choose from the following sound settings:

Function Help: With the function help feature turned on, each time you highlight a function in the menu, a brief description of the function is also displayed.
Sleep Timer: The sleep timer switches the television off after a specified amount of time. The sleep timer can be set to 30, 60, 90, 120, 150, or 180 minutes.
On/Off Timer: The three On/Off timers allow you to program the television to turn itself on and off by selecting a specific on time and a specific off time. You also choose the On Timer's channel and Volume. The on and off timers work independently of one another.
