About the ATM Cool-rack III
High-performance audio/video gear needs to stay cool. It's important not only for optimal performance, but to prevent damage to sensitive electronics. The ATM Cool-rack III features three whisper-quiet fans that move lots of air. A built-in sensor turns these fans on when the temperature inside your rack reaches 90 degrees.
The sensor is programmed to turn the fans off when the temperature drops below 85 degrees. You can also adjust that setting to a lower temperature. The Cool-rack III mounts in a standard audio rack, and comes with its own AC power adapter.

More details on the ATM Cool-rack III
Overview: The ATM Cool-rack III fan system is designed to ventilate and cool mid-size to large equipment racks.
Fans: The Cool-rack III features three 120mm (4.73" x 4.73") fans mounted to a 3U high protective metal plate with vent slots. The fan assembly is capable of maintaining a 120 CFM (cubic feet per minute) air flow, while generating very little noise. The Cool-rack III can be mounted on the front or rear rails of most equipment racks, with a rear-mount being the best choice if the front of the rack either doesn't have 3U of space or there's a door. If rear-mounted, a 1U or 2U vent panel should be mounted as low as possible on the front rack-rails, allowing a stream of air to pass over the equipment before being exhausted by the fans. The fan assembly includes an attached 22" power cable that plugs into the included 6' AC power cable.
Thermo-sensing: An attached thermal probe is included for automatically activating the fan system when the temperature surpasses the set amount. The probe should be mounted under the fan assembly on the hottest part of the equipment. An adhesive mount is provided for securing the sensor. A control board, mounted in between both fans, features three 7-segment displays along with 3 push-button controls for displaying and changing both the activation temperature (fan On) and the deactivation temperature, or differential (fan Off). The factory setting is to activate at around 90˚F and shut off at around 85˚. The differential setting includes 7 codes: P0 - P6; P1 should be selected first (if not the default) then the differential temperature can be selected. P6 turns the fan system off, the remaining codes are not used.
Note: The temperature display reads degrees in Celsius, not Fahrenheit, and cannot be changed. A convenient list of common temperatures conversions is provided in the instruction manual:
- 24˚C = 75˚F
- 27˚C = 80˚F
- 29˚C = 85˚F
- 32˚C = 90˚F
- 35˚C = 95˚F
- 38˚C = 100˚F
- Overall Dimensions: Width = 19.0", Height = 5.250", Depth = 1.750"
- Fans: (3) 4.73" (120mm) x 4.73" (120mm)
- Air Flow: 120 CFM
- Noise Level: 24dBA
- Thermal Control: Adjustable (default: 90˚F On / 85˚F Off)
