More details on the ATM Cool-stack I Intake
Overview: The ATM Cool-stack I Intake fan system is designed to work in conjunction with the Cool-stack I Exhaust module (sold separately) for ventilating and cooling mid- to large-size equipment racks.
Fans: The Cool-stack I Intake features four 80mm (3.125" x 3.125") fans mounted in a 1U high metal enclosure with exhaust vent holes for each fan. The fan assembly should be mounted below the heat producing equipment, blowing cool air up into the rack. When used in conjunction with a Cool-stack I Exhaust module, the Intake fan module gets mounted low in the rack, feeding cool air up into it, while the Exhaust module gets mounted above the equipment, drawing hot air up and out of the rack. The Cool-stack I Intake is capable of maintaining a 40 CFM (cubic feet per minute) air flow, while generating very little noise. The fan assembly is powered using the included 6' AC power cable.
Thermo-sensing: An attached thermal probe is included for automatically activating the fan system when the temperature surpasses approximately 90˚F. The probe should be mounted on top of the hottest part of the equipment, and includes an adhesive mount for securing the sensor.
Constant Idle Operation: If desired, the Cool-stack I can run at a constant idle speed, increasing to full speed when the temperature at the thermal probe reaches 90˚F. If the thermal probe becomes disconnected, the fans will increase to full speed. Activating Constant Idle mode is done by removing the top cover and locating the 2-pin header labeled "IDLE JMPR". This shorting jumper comes mounted on Pin 1 and needs to be connected to both jumper pins.
