There's one problem with stacking components — excess heat has nowhere to go. The ATM Dual-mode Component Cooler solves that problem. You can place it either under a component, or between two components. Powerful fans and an open design keep the air flowing and your gear cool.

There's one problem with stacking components — excess heat has nowhere to go. The ATM Dual-mode Component Cooler solves that problem. You can place it either under a component, or between two components. Powerful fans and an open design keep the air flowing and your gear cool.

Two operation modes

The cooler ships in "heat shield" mode, ready to place on top of a heat-generating component like an amplifier or receiver. In this configuration, the fans blow downward, and the unit provides a heat shield for a component above, like a Blu-ray or CD player. You can also install the fans with the direction of the flow reversed, to place the cooler in "base" mode underneath your heat-generating amp or receiver.

A remote sensor attaches magnetically to the gear you want to monitor. The fans run continuously at an idle speed, then switch to normal speed if the temperature reaches 90°.

Features

Overview: The Dual-mode Component Cooler fan system is designed to ventilate and cool individual electronic components in semi-open spaces. It combines the functions of a bottom-mounted component cooler with an active heat shield.

Fans: The Dual-mode Component Cooler features two 120mm (4.73" x 4.73") fans mounted on a metal heat shield. It's designed to sit either directly on top of or below electronic equipment, in open or partially open areas, such as in a bookcase, or in a cabinet with no doors and/or an open back. The fan system comes pre-configured in "shelf" mode, where it's placed on top of heat generating equipment, drawing air up through the component, and providing a shelf and heat shield for equipment placed on top of it. Two metal plates on top of the fans can be removed, allowing it to work in "Base" mode. In this configuration, the component sits on top of the Dual-mode Component Cooler, with the fans forcing cool air up into the underside of the component. The fan system is designed to run continuously, if needed, while generating very little noise. The fan assembly is powered using the included 6' AC power cable.

Thermo-sensing: An attached thermal probe is included for automatically activating the fan system when the temperature surpasses approximately 90˚F. The probe should be mounted on top of the hottest part of the equipment, and includes an adhesive mount for securing the sensor.
