Smooth Yet Subtly Powerful!

These bookshelf speakers are not small but they are beautiful and of excellent quality. The Wharfedale name drew me in initially, then the open box price made me commit. These arrived today and to go along with my SVS PB-2000 Pro and my Denon AVR-S950h receiver. I love these speakers. They sound absolutely superb and are neutral and do not color the music. The highs are crisp and the midrange compliment voices as though the singers are in the room with you. I have a center channel, two satellites and another subwoofer in route this week but even without those additions, they sound awesome, just awesome!

Pros: Build quality, superb sound & excellent price!

NOT AN AUDIOPHILE REVIEW

I have a retro gaming setup and wanted to replace my aging klipsch icon tower speakers with something newer / modern / different. So I took a chance on these in the color white. Never heard of this brand until Crutchfield. First off they were bigger than I imagined. These are also beautifully designed speakers; not too heavy and not too light. SOUND: I have these connected to an old Sony receiver (STR-DE885). These have a very open sound stage when playing games and watching movies on a VCR. VERY, VERY GOOD sound separation. Audio really comes alive with detail however it lacks bass, but that's what subwoofer are for. Plan on adding a sub in the near future. Overall very pleased and no regrets in my purchase.

Pros: Excellent sound and design

Cons: Lacks in bass but just add a sub. Minor con.

Not Perfect

I bought these speakers to replace my Mission 701 another UK speaker. Overall an improvement in the midrange but not as much as I had hoped for. I'm still upset with the move to produce these and many other speakers to China.

Pros: Finish, imaging , speaker placement.

Blown away...

Hal from Waldport, OR on 3/22/2020

About a month ago I listened to a pair of Wharfedale Diamond 9.2s at a friend's house. I was blown away by them. I tried to buy them from him but he said his wife liked them so much that he couldn't sell them to me. I tried to find a used pair... but to no avail. I thought...people must like Wharfies. So I figured Wharfedale's latest Diamond model was worth a try. I was blown away by these 11.2s. I'm back to listening to music now in stereo and am hearing things I'd not noticed before in my listening. The receiver I use is an Integra DTR 20.4. I can switch between "Stereo" and "5.2" settings. These 11.2s excel in both settings. I've ordered the companion center channel (11.cc) from Crutchfield due this coming Wednesday. Thank you Crutchfield for all the help, fair pricing, knowledgeable staff, and fast shipping.

Pros: I'll say it again...blown away. Plus the walnut finish is very, very good. And the curved body of the speakers... is just sexy.
