I purchased these speakers on Monday and they were delivered on Wednesday. They are great looking as furniture. The stand is heavy and isn't going anywhere. I used them to watch TV and youtube music videos. This is the first time I had speakers that just disappeared when watch tv programs or rock/jazz music. That is, I paid attention to the TV rather than the speakers. It was a great new experience. I used an A/B switch to compare these speakers with my Tektron Double Impact. I found there are 2 types of speakers, what I will call "big stage" and "small stage" speakers. By big stage I mean listening to music that requires a large stage such as The Beatles Sargent Pepper music, the HD 3d Ode to Joy, Bach's Toccata and Fugue in D Minor, etc. These sound great on the Double Impact but not so much on the Wharfedale Lintons. However, I notice the Double Impacts when watching TV or videos. The best I can explain is they don't disapear like the Wharfedales. The small stage such as TV programs, most rock or jazz music with base guitar, or the base fiddle sounds a lot better with the Linton speakers. With the Wharfedale Litons I hear the strings being played rather than a thump thump. Now my only problem is that I have to get up off my brains and change the A/B switch. Wish there was a remote control A/B switch for speakers.
Pros: Great with TV and rock, jazz music
Cons: Limited with music that requires a "Large Stage" speakers.
