About the Magellan TRX7 Trail and Street Package

Know the position of your powersports and 4x4 vehicles
If you're an off-road or powersports enthusiast, you already know what a hassle it can be to bring delicate electronics when you take your side-by-side, ATV, or 4x4 vehicle off the beaten path. Magellan's TRX7 Trail and Street portable GPS navigator sports a rugged chassis and screen designed to handle the elements and still provide accurate guidance. This package also includes a two RAM mounts: a handlebar rail mount built to work with nearly any powersports vehicle, plus a suction-cup mount for 4x4 vehicles. Its included maps cater to your need for off-road exploring, with 3D and topographic displays to help you blaze the trail ahead more accurately. The "Street" part of the navigator's name also means you can use it for journeys across asphalt, too. And the TRX7's Wi-Fi® connectivity lets you save and share your adventures with other bold souls online, so they can check out the amazing rides you've taken.
Maps for the trailmasters
The TRX7 offers basemaps covering the entire U.S. and Canada, giving you a detailed look at your off-road environs either in topographic 2-D view with contour lines or high-resolution 3-D terrain view to determine elevations and land features. It also includes maps of highways and secondary roads, along with hundreds of thousands of key outdoor and off-road points of interest. A barometric altimeter and 3-axis electronic compass come in handy if you're exploring on foot.
Built-in trails database
Magellan loaded the TRX7 with over 115,000 designated off-road trails, so no matter where you live in the U.S. or Canada, you can start exploring immediately. The routes cover forests and public lands and feature reviews and ratings by other off-road enthusiasts. Just select a trail, hit "Follow," and you're on your way.
Forge your own path
Explore unfamiliar territory with confidence as the Magellan leads the way. You can start recording your trail as soon as you begin your trek, and you can hit the "backtrack" button at any point during your excursion to get guidance back to your starting point along the exact same route. And you'll get a warning if you're veering off a trail you're following, so you can get back on the right path quickly.
Different ways to make waypoints
The TRX7 lets you mark different waypoints with different markers to indicate meetup locations, scenic views, campsites, obstacles, and more. And you can record custom waypoints when you're stopped, using current location, GPS coordinates, and more. Name the waypoint and add audio, photos, and descriptions to make them more attractive. While your vehicle is in motion, you can still save a waypoint, but you won't be able to customize it until you're safely stopped. You can also share trails with others via imported and exported GPX files.
A screen you can count on
The Magellan's 7" touchscreen display shows you your surroundings in an eye-friendly manner. Its Android software platform ensures smooth navigation through the user interface, whether you're mapping, tracking your data, or uploading information to social media.
The RAM rail mount attaches the TRX7 to ATV handlebars.
No matter the conditions, you want to be able to count on your navigator when you're deep in the wild. The Magellan's water- and dust-resistant housing keeps it safe from the elements, so you can ford streams and plow through mud holes without fear.
Genuine RAM handlebar rail and suction-cup mounts
The included RAM handlebar mount provides a solid attachment to any rail measuring between 0.5" and 1.25" thick, and it swivels so you can position the navigator on the included mounting plate for the best view. The tough RAM suction-cup windshield mount provides a solid attachment to your vehicle's dashboard or console.
Ready for Wi-Fi
Magellan's TRX Trailhead online portal is where you can share your adventures, find new trails, and interact with other outdoor enthusiasts online, and Magellan made it easy to access through this navigator with built-in Wi-Fi compatibility. You can prepare for your next trip by uploading trails when connected to your home network, and then take advantage of your own portable Wi-Fi hotspot to get online when out in the wild.
The RAM suction-cup mount comes in handy for windshields and consoles.
The TRX7 features a built-in browser, so you can establish an account through the TRX Trailhead portal and have access to user ratings and reviews of different trails, plus custom trails they've created. You can set up a profile for your vehicle and link to your personal Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram accounts to share your adventures with others online. Your TRX Trailhead account can log your trails, trips, and dirt miles covered, and give you achievement badges for milestones reached and destinations visited. There are also companion smartphone apps you can access when you're away from your TRX7 or computer.
Your TRX Trailhead account also lets you rank trails you blaze, including 4-wheel-drive requirements, road conditions, terrain types, pitch, roll, and more. Once you've ranked your trail, you can publish it to the TRX Trailhead online community for sharing and evaluation purposes.
Connect via Bluetooth®
This navigator also allows you to make and take hands-free calls from your compatible phone so you can keep your hands on the wheel of your vehicle and still reach out if necessary.
Free map and software updates
Magellan stands by the TRX7 with free periodic map and software updates. They're available through Wi-Fi, so you don't even have to hook your TRX7 to a computer or download the update to your laptop. A new map update was released in January 2019.

Magellan TRX7 Trail and Street Package reviews
Bought this specifically to use in our RZR. Used it for only 3 days so far, but seems fairly easy to use which is what I was looking for as I've never used a GPS before. Could not find any listed trails on Magellan's site in the 2 areas we ride the most, but saved a bunch for use later on our trip. Very difficult to see in the bright AZ sun, with dust added made it near impossible. Have a anti-glare screen protector on order so hopefully that helps. Overall, satisfied so far.
Pros: Large screen, ability to load gpx files. Preloaded trails on Magellan site
Cons: Hard to see in bright sun. Wish someone would come out with one of these that's like a Kindle White. I'd happily sacrifice colors in order to be able to see it without taking it off its mount.

Thank you, Crutchfield, for letting me swap this with another manufacturer's model after trying it. Your customer service is the best! First the positive: Solid, well-built unit, very nice RAM mount with all the accessories. Now the negative: They waste the screen, with all the clutter there's less info than on most 5-inch units. Good luck uploading GPX trails: They treat the entire track as going through trackless wilderness even if they are over streets. When on your uploaded track there is zero turn-by-turn audio and a highly annoying banner that wastes 15% of the top of the screen just to tell you what trail you picked. Now I would think that if you were trying to follow a trail in Arizona where there are not a lot of trees that there's a turn coming up in 100 yards but you won't get that satisfaction with this unit. The user interface is highly dumbed-down, offering no routing options or customizable audio prompting. Their manual and online documentation is abominable and in several cases outright wrong, I am a software and electronics engineer so I'm ahead of the game on this kind of stuff. Final pain: This is an Android unit. They don't tell you that the "Settings" in the Android part are different from the "Settings" in the GPX application. You get all the old Jellybean clunkiness at no extra charge, along with the horrible Android browser. To top it off, you can't go to a site where you can make GPX tracks and use the browser to download tracks, browser does not work.
Pros: Quality construction, sunlight readable display, good mount.
Cons: The software and unit operating features.

Cross over GPS, it performs very well love the search feature for trails. This unit will exceed my expectations as more updates come, being on a tablet platform allows for easy changes and up dates.
Cons: Work in progress
