About the Magellan TRX7 CS Trail and Street Package
Capture your adventures on or off the road
Capture your adventures on or off the road
Going off the beaten path in your 4x4 rocks, but how much cooler is it when you can capture your excursions and share them with friends? Magellan's TRX7 CS Trail and Street portable GPS navigator is not only ready for off-road guidance, but its built-in HD camera also lets you record your trips. You'll have amazing road and trail maps at your disposal, with 3D and topographic displays to lead the way. This package also includes a pair of tough RAM mounts for a secure attachment to your windshield or handlebar rail, while built-in Wi-Fi® connectivity allows you to reach out to other explorers online.
Built-in camera for megapixels of fun
Magellan added a camera to the TRX7 CS so you could capture video or take stills of your rides with ease. The 5-megapixel camera includes a flash LED to grab images in low light. You can even tag your photos with waypoints to reconstruct a particularly challenging or fun trail for sharing purposes.
Maps for trails, roads, highways, and more
The TRX7 CS offers basemaps covering the entire U.S. and Canada, giving you a detailed look at your off-road environs in either a topographic 2-D view with contour lines or a high-resolution 3-D terrain view to determine elevations and land features. It also includes maps of highways and secondary roads, along with hundreds of thousands of key outdoor and off-road points of interest. A barometric altimeter and 3-axis electronic compass come in handy if you're exploring on foot.
Includes over 100,000 trails
Magellan loaded the TRX7 CS with over 115,000 designated off-road trails, so no matter where you live in the U.S. or Canada, you can start exploring immediately. The routes cover forests and public lands, featuring reviews and ratings by other off-road enthusiasts. Just select a trail, hit "Follow," and you're on your way.
Explore to your heart's content
Explore unfamiliar territory with confidence as the Magellan leads the way. You can start recording your trail as soon as you begin your trek, and you can hit the "backtrack" button at any point during your excursion to get guidance back to your starting point along the exact same route. And you'll get a warning if you're veering off a trail you're following, so you can get back on the right path quickly.
The RAM suction-cup mount comes in handy for windshields and consoles.
The Magellan lets you mark different waypoints with different markers to indicate meetup locations, scenic views, campsites, obstacles, and more. And you can record custom waypoints when you're stopped, using current location, GPS coordinates, and more. Name the waypoint and add audio, photos, and descriptions to make them more attractive. While your vehicle is in motion, you can still save a waypoint, but you won't be able to customize it until you're safely stopped. You can also share trails with others via imported and exported GPX files.
A big screen for big adventures
The Magellan's 7" touchscreen displays your surroundings in an eye-friendly manner. Its Android software platform ensures smooth navigation through the user interface, whether you're mapping, tracking your data, or uploading information to social media.
No matter the conditions, you want to be able to count on your navigator when you're deep in the wild. The eXplorist's IP 67-rated water- and dust-resistant housing keeps it safe from the elements, so you can ford streams and plow through mud holes without fear.
Genuine RAM rail and suction-cup mounts
The included RAM handlebar mount provides a solid attachment to any rail measuring between 0.5" and 1.25" thick, and it swivels so you can position the eXplorist on the included mounting plate for the best view. The tough RAM suction-cup windshield mount provides a solid attachment to your vehicle's dashboard or console.
Wi-Fi connectivity for convenient sharing
Magellan's TRX Trailhead online portal is where you can share your adventures, find new trails, and interact with other outdoor enthusiasts online, and Magellan made it easy to access through this navigator with built-in Wi-Fi compatibility. You can prepare for your next trip by uploading trails when connected to your home network, and then take advantage of your own portable Wi-Fi hotspot to get online when out in the wild.
The RAM rail mount attaches the TRX7 CS to ATV handlebars.
TRX Trailhead online
The Magellan features a built-in web browser, so you can establish an account through the TRX Trailhead web portal and have access to user ratings and reviews of different trails, plus custom trails they've created. You can set up a profile for your vehicle and link to your personal Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram accounts to share your adventures with others online. Your TRX Trailhead account can log your trails, trips, and dirt miles covered, and give you achievement badges for milestones reached and destinations visited. There's also a companion TRX app for your smartphone which offers much of the same functionality.
Your TRX Trailhead account also lets you rank trails you blaze, including 4-wheel-drive requirements, road conditions, terrain types, pitch, roll, and more. Once you've ranked your trail, you can publish it to the TRX Trailhead online community for sharing and evaluation purposes.
Stay connected with Bluetooth®
This navigator also allows you to make and take hands-free calls from your compatible phone so you can keep your hands on the wheel of your vehicle and still reach out if necessary.
Free map and software updates
Magellan stands by the TRX7 CS with free periodic map and software updates. They're available through Wi-Fi, so you don't even have to hook your TRX7 CS to a computer or download the update to your laptop. A new map update was released in January 2019.

Bluetooth/Wi-Fi: The device can be connected wirelessly to your smartphone via Bluetooth or Wi-Fi through your phone's hotspot. This allows you to connect the unit to the Internet for downloading trails, uploading tracks, or connecting with your friends or off-road community through social media.
GPS: The TRX7 CS has a Type Ublox-7 high-sensitivity GPS receiver with a built-in multi-directional patch antenna. The GPS receiver is accurate down to 3-5 meters, depending upon signal strength. The device has a barometric altimeter, and a 3-axis electronic compass.
Routes and Trails: The TRX7 CS has over 115,000 preloaded designated OHV (off-highway vehicle) routes that you can navigate with your 4-wheel drive, ATV, motorcycle, or snowmobile. In addition, the TRX7 CS gives you access of thousands of user-generated tracks that can be downloaded from Magellan's growing database. You can access this community database from your mobile device, tablet, or laptop. These trails include observations and rankings from individuals, and allow you to search by location, difficulty, rankings, and other criteria. You can review the trail ahead of time, then save it to your Wish List of future trails to visit. The TRX7 CS comes with free lifetime software and map content updates, available several times per year via Wi-Fi.

When you save the trail you have traveled, the Waypoints and its details are saved along with it so they can be viewed by other enthusiasts who choose your trail.
Off-Course Notifications: The TRX7 CS will notify you if you get off-course, and will offer you a guide to getting back to the trail. As soon as you leave the trail, an on-screen message alerts you that you have strayed off-course. The Backtrack feature will guide you safely back to the campsite, entry, or any current trail starting point.
