The Balón Edge offers a clean fit and finish that draws your eyes to the screen with a crisp, ultra-thin border. This 1/2"-thick frame has a black velvet Velux overlay that absorbs stray light to help bring out a projected image's color and brightness. The frame is combined here with Stewart's FireHawk G5 screen material, which is designed to provide the best possible trade-off between image fidelity and ambient light resistance.
FireHawk G5 is rated with a peak screen gain of 1.1 and ambient light rejection of 73%. If offers superb black levels and shadow detail for rooms where blocking out all the ambient light isn't practical. Compared with previous generations of FireHawk ALR (ambient light rejecting) screens, G5 increases image contrast and improves off-axis viewing.
Streamlined installation
Stewart Filmscreen work hard to take the fuss out of assembling and mounting their screens on the wall. This screen comes intuitively packaged for a straightforward assembly and includes a flush-mount wall bracket and hanging bar system. Getting the fabric on is literally a snap, with Stewart's Quick Snap system that neatly aligns the fabric to the frame.

Balon Edge: The Stewart Filmscreen Balon Series Edge features a minimalist fixed-frame design. The Balon Edge frame measures only 0.5" (w) x 1.5" (d) and fits flush to the wall. The frame is built using high-quality, aircraft grade aluminum and is hand finished with a rich, velvet Velux overlay. The Velux finish is designed to absorb any projector overscan (stray light). From your seated viewing position, all you'll see is the narrow 0.5" black Velux border, providing a crisp, sharp image.
FireHawk G5 Screen Material: Fifth generation FireHawk is a flexible, front projection screen surface engineered for use with today's HD and Ultra-HD projector systems in applications involving the presence of ambient light. As always, ambient light is the enemy of two-piece projection. Stewart Filmscreen's FireHawk G5 is designed to provide the best possible trade-off between image fidelity and ambient light resistance. With increased image contrast and even better, off-axis viewing, the FireHawk G5 delivers image exactness along with superior high contrast levels that will leave you immersed in the big screen.

Simple Installation: The Stewart Filmscreen Balon Edge offers simple and straight-forward installation with a snap-on screen and EZ-Mount bracket system. The frame consists of four pieces (top, bottom, left side, right side) that will screw together, plus braces that will attach to the back of the frame for added support. Once the frame is assembled, the roll-out projection screen can be snapped onto the frame for a perfect fit. The EZ-Mount bracket system consist of an upper mounting bracket (49.5" wide) and lower magnetic mounts to securely hang the Stewart Filmscreen Balon Edge on your wall.
Note: The EZ mount bracket system is the standard mount for the Balon Edge. Other options include the Wall Board Mount, the Eye Bolt Mount (Hanging), and Aperture Mount - see Owner's Manual for more details.
Optional Light Kit: The Balon Edge frame features an LED light rail at 60-degrees for perfect light disbursement when used with the optional LED light kit (sold separately).
