About the Roksan Attessa Turntable

Eric A.

A turntable with genteel looks and impressive sound quality

When I look at the Roksan Attessa turntable, I see a very well-engineered 'table with so much attention paid to the details. I can tell a lot of thought has been put into the materials and design — from the gently rounded, vibration-damping plinth to the tempered glass platter with the added touch of anodized aluminum edging.

The 'table features a proprietary tonearm and custom, pre-installed cartridge that work together to track record grooves with ear-pleasing accuracy. The tonearm's unique hybrid aluminum/ABS construction offers a different approach for achieving light weight and rigidity — the holy grail of tonearm construction.

Convenient connectivity

The Attessa has a built-in phono preamp that allows you to connect directly to your existing sound system without having to buy a separate component. If you do choose to use an external phono preamp, the onboard preamp can be switched off. To make initial setup even easier, Roksan has included an RCA cable, spirit level, bearing oil kit, and tracking weight scales.

Roksan's British heritage

Roksan was founded in England in 1985, where the company continues to design and engineer its products. Their first product — the ground-breaking Xerxes turntable — established Roksan's expertise in vinyl playback, but since then the company has turned its attention to hi-fi digital audio and amplification, as well.

Features

Electronic Speed Control: The Roksan Attessa Turntable offers digital electronic speed control. You can select 33-1/3 or 45 RPM (45 RPM adapter not included). With turntable speed controlled down to the microsecond by smart new technology, playback is true to the original.

Note: The turntable's main bearing requires cleaning with a cotton bud and recharging with Roksan supplied bearing oil every 6-12 months (oil kit included).

Isolated Plinth Design: The Roksan Attessa Turntable features premium build quality, featuring an isolated single plinth design with a high mass platter constructed from weighted glass and bonded aluminum edge dampener. The isolated plinth design rests on three decoupled feet to protect against unwanted vibrations for stable playback.

Unipivot Tonearm & Dana Cartridge: The Attessa Turntable features Roksan's Unipivot tonearm, created with computer-aided modeling by their electro-acoustic team. The Unipivot tonearm is lightweight and simple to use, thanks to its composite construction and glass jewel pivot. The tonearm is pre-fitted with Roksan's Dana Cartridge, which is a MM (moving magnet) cartridge with a frequency response of 20 to 23,000Hz.

Note: A pre-installed counterweight and azimuth balance, as well as the included Anti-skate weight and tracking weight allow for adjustment of the tonearm & cartridge upon initial setup. The recommended tracking weight is 2.0g (20mN).

Built-In Phono Preamp: The switchable built-in phono preamp allows for connection to an AV receiver or integrated amplifier with or without a Phono MM input. With the built-in preamp active, you can connect the turntable to a standard line-level RCA input on your receiver or amp. With the built-in preamp deactivated, you can connect the turntable to a dedicated Phono MM input on your receiver or amplifier.

Note: There is a switch labeled "Active" and "Passive" on back of the turntable. The "Active" setting turns on the built-in phono preamp, while the "Passive" setting turns off the built-in phono preamp.

Stereo RCA Outputs: The Attessa Turntable is outfitted with a set of stereo RCA output jacks and comes with a 32" stereo RCA cable to connect to the phono or line input of your AV receiver, integrated amplifier, or preamplifier.

Note: This turntable does not offer a grounding screw.

Dust Cover: The included dust cover helps prevent dust build-up on the turntable. The dust cover simply rests on top of the turntable's plinth and lifts off (there are no hinges).

AC Power Adapter: The included AC power adapter plugs into the back of the turntable and into an AC wall outlet or surge protector (sold separately - see Accessories Tab).

Made Britain: The Roksan Attessa Turntable is designed, developed and assembled in Britain.
