About the SPL Boxes SB112V

Bob Bihlmayer

We all know how a good subwoofer can enhance your musical enjoyment, but not everyone wants to build their own box. SPL Boxes to the rescue! These heavy-duty enclosures can take the punishment of the car environment, with rugged 3/4" MDF construction to give your sub plenty of support. Attractive and tough charcoal carpet protects the box from nicks and dings, while gold-tipped spring terminals hold your speaker wires securely. Product Research

Features

Design: The SB112V is an unloaded, ported enclosure for a single 12" subwoofer. It's constructed of ¾" MDF (medium-density fiberboard) and covered in charcoal colored carpet.

Internal Box Volume: The enclosure has a volume of 1.5 ft³ with a tuning frequency of 38 Hz.

Terminals: The wire terminals are spring-posts (one pair), mounted on the back of the enclosure. The spring terminals will accept pin connectors and bare wire up to 12-gauge. Inside the enclosure there are 0.205" male quick-slides (will accept 0.205" female quick slides) for both the positive and negative terminals. The wire can also be attached using the nuts holding the quick-slides in place.

Note: Speaker wire is needed to connect the terminals to the subwoofer.

Brackets: Brackets for securing the enclosure in your vehicle are recommended.

Q
Fits a JLaudio w7??
[ Jaime  Apr 03, 2023 ]
1 answer
A
Greetings Jamie, and thank you for your question. Technically the 12 inch W7 will fit in this box, but the W7 would like 1.75 cubic feet of air space in a ported box. This SPL box is just 1.5 cubic feet.

Q
Is the speaker cut out to big for the pioneer d4?
[ DON  Feb 06, 2023 ]
1 answer
A
The Pioneer TS-A120D4 in the link below would be a great choice with the SPL box, Don. This fits and the SPL Boxes SB112V Single ported 12" subwoofer enclosure is exactly 1.5 cubic feet internally, the exact amount we need for the Pioneer subwoofer! This would be a great choice for deep bass. https://www.crutchfield.com/p_130TSA120D/Pioneer-TS-A120D4.html
