Scratch and dent CD player without the scratches and dents
Bobby from Franklin, MA on 3/21/2023
This CD player is the best I've ever heard or owned. Connected to my Rotel preamplifier using Blue Jeans Belden 1800 3 meter XLR cables. CDs sound better than ever, especially the latest remasters. Was streaming music since my old Sony 300 disc carousel player didn't sound as good on my upgraded system. Back to listening to all my hundreds of CDs including the rare ones you can't find on Tidal, Qobuz or Spotify. Have been watching this model for months online to pair and match with the Rotel MKII preamp and amp I bought from Crutchfield. The 3 components look beautiful together! Purchased the scratch and dent, saving a few hundred dollars and I can't see a mark on it. The only thing I could find is the owners manual looks a copy stapled together. Not a bid deal especially since you can get it online anyway. Crutchfield has done it again! Would recommend for anyone looking for a high-end CD player. If you have a high-end system and a lot of CDs to enjoy it's definitely worth the investment to round out your system. Peace, Love and Music!
Pros: CDs sound better than on my older player connected with either optical or RCA cables. XLR connectivity makes an audible difference.
Cons: Cost but the scratch and dent purchase price helped.

Rotel RCD-1572 MKII
Stephen from Westhampton, NY on 3/10/2023
Noticeable improvement over my older Rotel 1072 cdp. Details and soundstage more obvious. Very smooth drawer operation if a tad slow to load. This is my 4th Rotel cdp and I expect the same dependable operation from this one as the others. Which to me means well over a decade of service.

Rotel RCD-1572 MKII
Thomas from Holland, MI on 1/19/2023
I bought this as my final CD player. I had shopped and looked at reviews for a long time before I finally decided. I even bought a competitors (un-named) player and couldn't stand one of the fatal flaws in that ones I returned it. The sound and capabilities of this one are almost 100% of what I was looking for. The only exception being that the Rotel RCD-1572 MkII takes a little bit too long to load and read the disk. I guess I've gotten impatient in my old age but this unit has more redeeming qualities to make it a very solid selection in my humble opinion. It's a keeper!
Pros: Accurate Sound Reproduction
Cons: Slow loading

Rotel CD player review. Hint: OUTSTANDING!
George from Annville, PA on 1/16/2023
This CD player does a perfect job of making music in my room! It replaces a Sony ES from many years ago. My only reservation: I wish I could also purchase Rotel's matching Pre-Amp and Amp! The CD player is also beautiful, and an outstanding addition to my equipment rack.
Pros: Sounds great, LOOKS great. Works exactly as advertised, and, the built in DAC is SO good, I was told I did NOT need an outboard DAC. At my age (77) it is doubtful I could hear any improvement from a much more expensive component.
Cons: Wish I could purchase all the other Rotel components: In other words, NO Cons!

Perhaps the smoothest CD Player I have ever heard. Really like the 2 line display. Really worth the investment! Worked as a mastering engineer for 20 years. Heard a lot of CD players. This beats them all!

smooth player
Steven from Owego, NY on 12/2/2022
Right out of the box, this was hyper-detailed, and I doubted it would be for me. After a 50 hour burn-in things changed a lot. The soundstage is wide beyond the speaker boundaries, and the presentation is brought closer to the listener. The dynamics are very good, even at low listening levels. The depth is the best I've ever had in my home. The detail is still there, but not in your face. It is smooth, dynamic, and wide. Remote works well with zero concerns. If I had to buy another player tomorrow, this would be it. If your system is resolving enough, this may be for you. System as follows. iFi Zen Stream with external LPS, Denafrips Ares ll DAC, Rotel RCD-1572 MKll, McIntosh MA5300 integrated, and Dynaudio Countour S 1.4 Stand mounts. SCHWEET! Shout out to Shawn for his product knowledge, and people skills! Crutchfield is SO easy to do business with.
Pros: best sound quality at it's price point
Cons: n/a

Rotel RCD-1572 MKII
Elsworth from Palm Bay, FL on 11/22/2022
Unit work excellent, the control knobs too small and could have put led lights in the knobs, also the name could have been bolder and have a color to it so you can read the name, all cosmetic but would make the unit a five star.
Pros: Great unit
Cons: Need cosmetic work.

5-Star CD Player . 5-Star Buying Experience
Dawn from Fullerton, CA on 11/2/2022
After much research, I decided on the Rotel RCD-1572 MKII. I'd initially been interested in the Marantz CD-6007 and also considered the Rotel CD-11 Tribute & CD-14. Ultimately chose this unit and am delighted with my choice. While I'm no audiophile expert nor can I offer direct sound comparisons, I'm guessing that it's flawless operation and splendid sound would be tough to beat. Have it connected to a vintage Sansui G-3000 receiver and a pair of Klipsch "The Fives" powered speakers plus an older set of JBLs and couldn't be happier. While none of this is top end, it fit my budget and the house is filled with glorious music. Have played jazz, vocals, rock, classical, pop, R&B and country. Everything sounds great on this unit. Warm but not too warm. Crisp but not too crisp. Clear, balanced, "uncolored" sound and overall completely enjoyable! While I love spinning vinyl on my old Harmon-Kardon T45, I'm having a great time dusting off my vast collection of CDs. I'd forgotten how convenient they are. It all feels so civil compared to annoying streaming service ads breaking the mood and the mounting monthly fees for various streaming services. As for the Crutchfield experience . absolutely 5-Star from start to finish!

Rotel RCD-1572 MKll Well worth it. Nice job Rotel ! ! !
David from San Diego, CA on 3/9/2022
I have had the Rotel RCD-1572 MKll CD player just a few days with about 20 hours of play time on it . . . WOW ! Really nice job Rotel ! It is in my second system (previously an Arcam CD Player). It sounds good enough to let my reference system tubes cool off and listen while the Rotel breaks in. Usually this type of equipment takes about 200-300 hours to really open up. Looking forward to it. Build quality is good, but the Texas Instrument 32 bit DAC is outstanding, good job TI.
Pros: Exceptional 32 bit DAC performance. Channel separation is as advertised. S/N ratio, THD and dynamic range are excellent as well.
Cons: None yet Not owning one
