Product Research

Features

FM Tuner: The Rotel T11 tuner allows you to listen to FM radio and features the ability to easily store and recall up to 30 radio station presets. You can choose between a Stereo or Mono mode. In stereo mode, a stereo signal will be heard if the station is broadcasting a stereo signal and there is sufficient signal strength. Switching to mono mode can be a useful way to improve the reception of weak or distant FM signals. Less signal strength is required for clean mono reception than for stereo reception.

  • Usable Sensitivity: 22.2 dBf
  • 50dB Quieting Sensitivity: 27.2 dBf (mono)
  • Signal to Noise Ratio (@ 65 dB): 63 dBf (mono), 60 dBf (stereo)
  • Harmonic Distortion (@ 65 dB): 0.2% (mono), 0.3% (stereo)
  • Frequency Response: 10 to 15,000 Hz (+/-3 dB)
  • Stereo Separation: (100 Hz / 1 kHz): 40 dB / 37 dB
  • Output Level: 1 volt

DAB+: In addition to FM, the Rotel T11 offers support for DAB+ (Digital Audio Broadcast); which is a digital radio transmission available throughout Europe and other parts of world. Not available in the United States.

  • Sensitivity: -80 dBM
  • Tuning Range: Band III (174-240 MHz)
  • Audio Data Rate: 224 kbps (Max)
  • Frequency Response: 20 to 20,000 Hz (+/- 1 dB)
  • Analog Output: 2.1 volt (@ 0 dBFS)

Note: DAB and DAB+ is not available in the USA and is only available in Europe and other countries around the world.

RDS (Radio Data System): The Rotel T11 FM tuner is equipped with RDS (Radio Data Systems) reception capabilities. The RDS broadcast system provides additional functionality to FM radio reception by transmitting encoded information along with the radio signal. This additional information includes - station identification name, program content, traffic information, news announcements, plus current time and date.

Note: The RDS feature is entirely dependent on the broadcaster sending properly encoded signals. Thus, it will only be available in markets where RDS is currently implemented and where stations are broadcasting these data signals.

75 Ohms F Connector with Indoor Antenna: The Rotel T11 FM tuner comes with an indoor antenna that will plug into its rear-panel 75 Ohms F Connector. Experiment with different positions in your room to maximize reception. Locating the antenna near a window often times provides optimal FM signal reception.

Note: The included antenna is for indoor use only. Do not mount the antenna outdoors.

Front-Panel Display: The T11 FM tuner features a front-panel display to indicate tuning frequency, as well as RDS information (when available). You have the ability to dim the front-panel display and power LED to provide a comfortable visual reference in all lighting environments.

Front-Panel Controls: The Rotel T11's front-panel controls include a Power button, 10 Preset buttons, Memory button, FM Mono button, FM/DAB buttons, plus a rotary knob to manually tune radio stations.

Remote Control: The T11 comes with an IR remote control for wireless operation of the FM tuner. The remote offers wireless control over functions such as Power On/Off, Tune Up/Down, Preset Memory and Selection, as well as Menu selection.

Stereo RCA Output: The Rotel T11 is outfitted with a set of stereo RCA output jacks that will connect the FM tuner to the stereo RCA input jacks of your AV receiver, integrated amplifier, or preamplifier. Use the included stereo RCA cable to make connection or purchase a higher-grade quality stereo RCA cable (sold separately - see Accessories Tab).

RS232 Port: The T11's rear-panel RS232 port allows the turntable to be controlled from custom integrated automation systems. The RS232 port accepts a standard straight DB-9 Male-to-Female cable (sold separately - not available from Crutchfield).

Detachable AC Power Cord: The Rotel T11 comes with a detachable 5' AC power cord that will plug into the back of the FM tuner and into an AC power outlet or surge protector (sold separately - see Accessories Tab). The Rotel T11 has been configured to operate with 120V/60Hz AC line voltage for the US.

Mounting Options: Place the Rotel T11 tuner on a solid, level surface away from sunlight, heat, moisture, or vibration.

Customer Q&A

2 questions already asked

Q
Am thinking about getting this tuner, but wonder what input to connect it to in my Denon PMA600NE. Is any input preferable?
[ ANTHONY  Jan 28, 2023 ]

A
Excellent question, Tony. You can use any of the free RCA line level inputs on your Denon PMA-600NE (CD, Network, AUX, and Recorder). Since these all input a line level signal, any would be perfect for the addition of the no-fuss, solid Rotel T-11 tuner.

Q
Does this turner require Speakers to work properly ? Yes, I am that challenged technically.
[ Denny  Jan 14, 2023 ]

A
You are too hard on yourself, Denny! This is a common question, and you will need not only speakers, but a receiver as well in most cases. If you ONLY want to listen to FM (no AM aboard the Rotel) and no other sources other than Bluetooth, you could pair the tuner with a set of powered stereo speakers like the Klipsch R-15PM's in the link below. This would save the most space in your setup if you are focused mostly on FM radio listening. https://www.crutchfield.com/p_714R15PM/Klipsch-Reference-R-15PM.html
