Features
Overview: The OSD Nero Arc SUB 8" subwoofer pendant speaker is designed for distributed 70/100V audio systems in home and commercial applications. The pendant speaker is an ideal choice for spaces with irregular or uneven architectural features such as vaulted ceilings in high-end home environments, malls, restaurants, bars, museums, and other spaces where multiple speakers are required and placement is challenging.
Speaker Design: The Nero Arc SUB subwoofer pendant speaker features an 8" rigid graphite cone woofer mounted in a ported enclosure, providing accurate controlled bass. The pendant speaker can provide a wide 180˚ dispersion pattern for broad area coverage. The pendant speaker is IP66 rated, making it suitable for both indoor and outdoor applications.
70/100V & 8Ω: The OSD Nero Arc SUB features a built-in 50 watt, 70/100V transformer for commercial applications. A 4Ω bypass also allows it to be used in a "standard" speaker configuration with up to 300 watts RMS power handling. A tap-dial on top of the speaker provides selections for the following:
- 70V: 6.25W, 12.5W, 25W, and 50W.
- 100V: 12.5W, 25W, and 50W.
- 4Ω: Bypass
Connection: Wiring connections to the Nero Arc SUB pendant speaker are made through a 4-pin Euroblock (Phoenix) connector located on top of the speaker, accommodating speaker wire up to 14-gauge. Two pins are used for the connection from an amplifier while the other two pins are used for daisy-chaining the signal out to additional speakers. An included strain relief attachment helps prevent the wire connection from being pulled loose (speaker wire sold separately).
Mounting: Designed for pendant mounting, the Nero Arc SUB includes a 40" (3.3') suspension cable with two locking-carabiners. The cable attaches to the speaker using the provided eye-bolt that threads into the top of the speaker housing, while the other end can be attached to a mounting point in the ceiling. A top cover is provided to protect the tap dial and Euroblock wiring connector.
