About the Tributaries Series 6 Model 6AB

Ned O.

High-performance balanced stereo interconnect

Before he founded Tributaries in 1991, owner Joe Perfito spent 15 years working for McIntosh Laboratory, Inc. Back then, he says, the concept of designing cables based on sound scientific principles was considered extremely radical. That became his company's mission, though, and it continues to produce audio cables designed to curtail distortion, deliver reliable tonal balance, and reduce the noise floor to near zero to bring your music to life with rich detail.

Solid copper conductors for a super-clean signal

These cables use ultra-pure, highly conductive, oxygen-free copper (HC-OFC) developed specifically for audio applications. Each conductor features solid (rather than stranded) gauge wires that allow for smooth, transparent, distortion-free signal transfer. Plus, each wire is individually insulated to eliminate interaction between the conductors, for virtually noise-free flow for your music.

Twin-axial design with gold-plated connectors

Series 6AB cables use a precision-twisted twin-axial design with dedicated positive and negative conductors of equal impedance. Dual shielding inhibits interference to keep noise at an absolute minimum.

They've also got gold-plated, solid-brass XLR connectors, further ensuring clean, neutral signal transfer that lets your music come through with clear, uncolored brilliance.

Tributaries cables are built to last

Every Tributaries audio cable is hand-made by skilled technicians in Orlando, Florida, using high-quality materials. Each cable must pass strict multi-level quality controls and comes with the assurance of a limited lifetime warranty.

Product Research

Features

Model 6AB Balanced XLR Cable: The Tributaries Series 6 Model 6AB is a high peformance balanced XLR audio cable that incorporates a host of patented technologies to provide excellent audio signal transfer with low-noise and neutral sound.

  • High Conductive Oxygen Free Copper (HF-OFC): The Tributaries Series 6 Model 6AB balanced XLR audio cable features ultra-pure highly conductive oxygen free copper (HC-OFC) developed specifically for audio applications. Each conductor is engineered with dual solid 20AWG gauge wires that are mathematically and tonally chosen to support low, mid and high frequencies for a natural sounding cable. Individually insulating each wire yields zero strand interaction and better sound quality.
  • Twisted Balanced Design: The Series 6 XLR audio cable also incorporates a precision twisted balanced design with dedicated conductors having equal impedance for positive and negative signals. The signal conductors are then wrapped with dual shielding to keep noise from reaching the single path.
  • High Quality Connectors & Jacket: The Model 6AB balanced audio cable is terminated with gold-plated, solid-brass XLR connectors on each end and features a decorative woven jack over flexible PVC. To reduce signal hum during connection, the Tributaries Series 6 XLR connectors have the female ground (pin 1) placed forward in the shell so the ground connects first. The end result is a neutral sounding cable.

Note: Assembled by hand with foreign and domestic parts in Orlando Florida, USA.
