Overview: The PetSafe Pawz Away Mini Add-a-Barrier (PWF00-14040) is an accessory to both indoor and outdoor Pawz Away Pet Barrier systems. The Mini Add-a-Barrier is a hockey puck-sized (3" diameter, 1" high) transmitter that emits an elliptical radio signal up to 30". When your pet, wearing a Pawz Away collar, gets near the transmitter, he receives audible and static correction through the collar. This package includes one mini-transmitter only; collars are sold separately.

Compatibility: The Mini Add-a-Barrier is compatible with the following Pawz Away systems:

Signal Strength: The Add-a-Barrier transmitter emits an elliptical signal in all directions. The strength of the signal can be adjusted using the + and - buttons on the top. The LCD display indicates the signal strength in segments of approximately 5 inches each, up to 30" from the device.

Transmitter Settings: You can set up an unlimited number of barrier transmitters in your home. In a multi-pet household, you can allow one pet access to an area while denying another pet. Switches on the transmitter can be set to Mode A, Mode B, or Mode AB functions to match the collar setting for each pet. In a single pet household, you should leave the setting at Mode A.

Placement: For best results, the transmitter should be placed on a non-conductive surface, such as a wood or tile floor, or a table. It can also be hung on a wall by a single nail or screw. If wall-mounted, you should note that the signal becomes very directional--strongest directly in front and weakest to the sides. You should avoid metal surfaces or large metal objects such as appliances.

Power Requirements: The Mini Add-a-Barrier transmitter requires three "AA" batteries (not included).
