Perfect toy for My Dog

My son and I both have small dogs that love to chase after laser pointer lights. This was the perfect toy for them because it works automatically for 15 minutes and then shuts off. The only con is it seems to love batteries but that's ok for the fun.
Pros: Works automatically and bright and fun and my dog loves it.
Cons: Seems to be hard on batteries.

Keeps the young ones chasing it as long as it's on. Older cats are not as excited but gets their attention. The younger cats get so excited especially when the program brings the laser beam close to the toy that it's knocked over. We went to Michael's and bought one of their 8" diameter pieces of wood and also self-sticking Velcro and put one piece on the toy's bottom and the other on the wood to "Velcro" the toy to the wood base and solved the problem of them knocking the toy on its side. It can be taken apart to replace the batteries and then replacing the Velcro portions back together. The negative is it should have come with batteries.
Pros: Keeps their attention, especially the younger cats
Cons: Should have come with batteries and can be easily knocked over.

so glad I purchased this item, just seconds after inserting the batteries the cat was having fun. don't find that the unit makes to much noise as others have mentioned.

Endless fun for all

My cat loves this toy. When I turn it on he can hear the little motor running and he knows what's going to happen. He watches it for a few moments while the light scoots across the room and suddenly it stops! That's the moment he pounces on the light and he can't understand how the dot got onto the top of his paw! It is providing endless enjoyment for our cat and us.
Pros: Runs for 15 minutes and automatically shuts off.
Cons: Uses 4 AA batteries (not included).

LOVE IT! Or, my cats do! Thank you so much. The price is reasonable and I will be giving them as Christmas gifts. I love that the toy turns itself off after 20 minutes.

i dont want to overuse this, but my kittens walk over to it and meow to turn it on. i'm not interested in the hand held pens. what sold this is that it operates on its own. the only downside is that it goes through batteries too fast. great product.

Features
Overview: The PetSafe Bolt (PTY00-14244) is an interactive laser toy that provides hours of entertainment for you and your cat. Bolt has two modes, Manual and Automatic, and is powered by 4 "AA" batteries (not included).
Modes: Bolt has two operating modes:
- Automatic: The Automatic mode is for hands-free play time, as the built-in mirror moves the laser light in random patterns. Simply set the device on a safe, flat surface, such as a table or floor, and sit back and watch your cat chase the laser light along the floor, up the walls, and across the furniture.
- Manual: The Manual mode lets you hold Bolt in your hands to point the laser wherever you want. The built-in mirror doesn't move, so you'll be able to control the laser light.
Timer: Bolt is equipped with an automatic timer that turns the laser off after 15 minutes.
Adjustable Mirror: The PetSafe Bolt has an adjustable mirror so you can control the height of the laser light and aim the laser across a variety of surfaces. The sliding control on the top of the device changes the tilt of the mirror.
