I raise Golden Retrievers and have a large pack of Goldie's who LOVE playing retrieve, we humans can use assistance because they will play till they drop. I can recommend this product wholeheartedly without reservation, and so can my dogs. It works off an AC/DC transformer or D-cell batteries. My ONLY complaint is the engineers who designed this device, built in a " rest circuit " that can't be bypassed. The unit runs for a designated period, and then turns off for a short rest period. This was meant to give Dogs a rest period, and I think that was STUPID. Dogs will rest when THEY decide to rest. The whole idea of playing ball is to burn off all that energy and give them exercise. The Only way to get around the shut-off period, is to remove the power and wait 30 seconds, then reapply power and continue playing. I would have preferred they had a bypass switch, but what do I know. You can adjust distance and arc for the ball. I would have liked a longer throw distance, but this is made to use both indoors and outside. Just keep it and the balls relatively clean and it will last. Your dogs will thank you and so will your throwing arm. This device uses tennis balls and if you have smart dogs, you can train them to bring the balls back and drop them into the top of the device for throwing replays, otherwise you get to load it up.
Pros: Great device, Dogs love it. Holds plenty of tennis balls.
Cons: The built-in rest period. Throwing distance could be longer.

we tried the ball thrower with batteries and plugged in and it only threw the ball around 15 feet no matter the adjustments. I was very dissappointed and returned the item. The good thing was that the return was easy and the staff was pleasant and helpful.

My Goldendoodle wants to play fetch 24 hours a day. That is all that she wants to do. I am still trying to teach her to put the ball into the launcher, but we have not got that far yet. She goes to sleep with a ball in her mouth, & wakes up with a ball, she even barks with a ball in her mouth. She loves the ball launcher, but still wants me to put the ball in there for her. I love it & know within time she will be putting it in there herself.
Pros: My Goldendoodle Shadoe Lynne loves it
Cons: No cons
