Highlight the highs

Alpine is known for quality sound and that reputation carries straight into their SPS-110TW tweeters. If your vehicle's speaker system sounds dull and unfocused, you'll be impressed by the excitement and detail these Type-S 1" tweeters will add to your music. It's all in the details

These tweeters deliver rich high-frequency performance without ever turning shrill. An EQ ring in front of each tweeter helps to disperse the sound evenly, while the in-line crossover network ensures the tweeter receives only the frequencies it was designed to handle.

Tweeters that sound good and actually mount

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Looks good and sounds good. I bought another brand with these ridiculous metal clamp mounts that don't work at all. There was so much of a gap that I had to use gorilla glue...needless to say that wasn't gonna cut it. So I got these with the screw on clamp and they're nice and tight up against the door panel. I absolutely love it

Pros: Awesome quality, superior mounts

Ahhh, I can hear clearly now...

2018 Honda Pilot
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

My 2018 Honda Pilot EX-L w/o nav had a pair of tweets that were tinny and only reproduced the highest tones. The lower door speakers don't transmit much voice to the ear. These new tweets with the 1000 hz lower cutoff and soft silk domes really bring the factory unit to life. Very happy. Installation was a breeze as the pillar material is soft and just the slightest trim with my pocket knife allowed the new tweets to firmly press into the factory holes. Sweet. The 2018 wire colors did not match the Crutchfield sheet so I used the green(left) and gray(right) as positive leads. I chose these because they're the leads to the factory capacitors on the OEM tweets. These were a great suggestion by Missy and I will be thanking her for many many miles.

Pros: Low cut in hz. Easy install.

Cons: No volume knob on my OEM Head unit. Doh! No cons about the tweets.

2007 Chevrolet Impala
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

These are superior tweeters speakers because they reach down into the midrange at 2500hz. When installing into 2007 Chevy Impala SS......... you do NOT need to glue or tape into the factory front windshield side-rails. Simply disassemble the most outer and back rings of the tweeter and it will then snap perfectly into the factory OEM plastic housing. Solder connector wires to factory wires. I left factory crossovers in place and did not use supplied Alpine's crossover...sound great.

Just changed the factory speakers on my 2004 Tacoma with Alpine SPS-517. I wasn't planning on swapping out the tweeters, but I'm glad I did. Even with the factory head unit the sound amazing. I was going to conceal behind the factory grills but I mounted them to give my truck a little spice. They fit perfect. Glad I bought them.

Pros: Compact, well design and quality materials

Cons: None

Connor40 from Texas on 11/1/2015

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

These tweeters added a silky smooth layer of music on top of the other outstanding speakers I've installed. In my 2001 Chevy Silverado, I had to get creative on mounting them but they are well worth the headache. (I'm no expert handy man so it may be easier for others)

Pros: great sound, fair price, nice looking

Cons: a little difficult to install

Perfect Addition For Small Sports Car

beg3yrs from Tucson, Arizona on 10/31/2015

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I purchased these tweeters to provide a little audio "pop" to a car I've been restoring. This 1974 beauty was never designed for a decent audio system and really only supports some dual 6x9s in the back hatch area. Putting these in the door cards was a simple job and added just the right amount of fill and high-end this car needed. Great product for the price.

Pros: Small and easy to install. Has more lower end response than other comparable tweeters. Was happy to see cross-over filters were included.

compared against infinity 10.11

skamin20 from Iowa on 10/7/2015

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Compared these against the infinity, I kept the infinity. Both sounded fine I just thought the alpines were a little harsher not much. The alpines were a little bigger and bulkier for where I wanted to mount them. Flush mount would be fine but i didn't do that. Would be fine to have on a lower budget. Not near the attachments as the infinity, cross over was in-line and was told it wasn't as good. Wouldn't be afraid of owning them for the right location

Pros: sounded fine price decent

Cons: weaker crossover bulkier for my application maybe a little harsh compared to more expensive tweeters

One of the best upgrades I have done

htm from Pennsylvania on 8/13/2015

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Installation into the OE tweeter location was a little tricky but figured a solution out.. other than that these blow away the OE set up clear crisp sound

Pros: Great Alpine Sound

Cons: none

well worth it

chopperbobby from Kentucky on 7/16/2015

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Put these in My 2010 jku. What an improvement. I switched out the passenger side and turn on. It is much clearer and louder than the stock Driver side. They do not fit in the tumbstone. I took a drimmel to it and Popped them int. When I get more time I will get it a little more snug but fine for now. With modding the tumbstone and hooking up took about 10 min each. Wish I would have done this years ago. You can also tilt them some to direct them right at you. Only in for a day but what a difference.

Pros: Easy install. Nothing else needed Except wire nuts. Look and sound great. Comes with a few options for mounting in different places. (did not use any Myself) Crutchfield customer support is the best.

Cons: Did not fit my factory tumbstone. (not a real shocker here. The advisor told me I would have to fab something.) Just because I had to have at least one con.

Good tweeters. Add alot of sound to my system. They hit the high notes and my alpine type s speakers pick up lower notes now with more bass. I would recommend them there great and easy to install. I dont have a sub in my car so these help a lot.

Alpine Tweeters

Crutchfield customer from Georgia on 6/3/2014

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This is my second set of Alpine SPS-110TW tweeters for my truck. The first set met an untimely end on my part for not adjusting my settings properly at first. Learned my lesson and with this set and they installed easily without needing to replace the whole housing (push in and twist the back of the tweeter housing to open it and pull the old tweeter out). The sound from them are crisp when adjusted properly and fill the cab of my truck with notes not normally heard making the experience that much more enjoyable.

Pros: Crisp sound, easy installation

I replaced the factory front tweeters in my '12 F250 and it really helped brighten the sound. I dont hear well above 800 hz so I needed that.

Pros: small enough to fabricate holders for

Cons: no direct bolt in. must fabricate way to hold them into the tweeter tower

Crisp and Clear

Tom L from Avon, CO on 10/23/2013

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Since everything on my 4Runner stereo upgrade was a retro-fit, these tweeters were on par with the other components as far as install. I put them in the dash where the factory speakers had been, and modified the previous speaker structures to hold the new tweeters by tearing out the old paper cones and cutting the metal frames where the struts joined the magnets. The result was a perfect fit of the new tweeters, and a great high-end sound after the project was finished.

Pros: Great sound, reasonable install, very good price, adjustable sound direction.

Cons: None so far.

These Things Scream!

Zack from Billerica, Massachusetts on 10/1/2013

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

WOW! These tweeters do work! I have them running off of the 25 watts per channel that my head unit has to offer and already they are really loud! I will be amplifying them with 50 watts per channel soon. Other than loudness, these look great. They have crystal clear quality, and are adjustable. You have no idea how much quality and fullness you are missing until you add a set of tweeters to your system. Well worth the price!

Pros: loud, clear, crisp, fills the car with great high end tones, can be used with little power, but will blow your mind with lots of it, look sexy, adjustable, flush or stealth mount, built in crossovers, competitive price

Cons: large crossover might be hard to route through certain areas, does not come with surface mount hardware, i cannot seem to find the limit as to how loud these tweeters will play.

You won!t regrest the buy

Pros: Best for price...

Factory upgrade

Rod from San Bernardino, CA on 6/10/2013

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I've been putting off upgrading my factory stereo system for quite some time and I finally came around to it, with these Alpine SPS-110TW, I already had purchased a pair of 6.5 Alpines. The first pair had a defect and I called the support line and they sent a replacement immediately. I love it... My next project is to upgrade the stereo and add an Amp to bring out the deep sounds. Doing it myself is great because it's self-satisfaction of doing it perfect with your Tech-line for assistance.

Pros: Able to take my time and do it right. It's simple, if you are willing to make modifications to your door panels.

Cons: None

great tweeters

DannyT from Massachusetts on 6/6/2013

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I drive a '95 Volvo 850, and the tweeters that came standard in my dash stopped producing any noise at all. Naturally I wanted to replace them. I chose these because they were a good price and I was told they were easy to install. All I had to do was take the old tweeters out of the bracket and screw the new ones in using what they came with. There is tons of extra speaker wire so they're easy to install if you need to run all the wires too. They added the high notes my system was missing, and really brought everything together.

Pros: simplicity of installation, price, quality

dont waste your money

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

on my scond set it 3 months, thought i did something wrong on instalation, no just poorly designed, tabes brake off at speaker.

Pros: easy to mount and great sound when they worked

Cons: extremly poor design

Sound good, design poor

robbie d's specialties from Tallahassee, FL on 11/22/2012

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

The tweeters sound good. I have them powered by a JVC KD-AHD69 Head unit. Cutting holes in my Honda Accord door panels was easy. The bad: the back of the tweeter was held on by three rotating clips which broke off of one the tweeters. I could have mounted the speaker differently after the breakage, but I had already installed the other side. With the back broken, the rotating feature was to be eliminated. I had to by Epoxy to seal the back to the super strong spring on the back of the tweeter and hope that noone plays with the speaker. Other than that, they are up to Alpine's sound quality standards.

Pros: Swival feature/rotating angle for sound balancing is a great plus

Cons: poorly designed plastic covers on the back of the tweeter

Very good tweeters

Doug from Golden, Colorado on 11/13/2012

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

These tweeters rock! They have great sound at high volume and the included in-line crossover eliminates the possibility of distortion.

Pros: Clear, loud high-frequency sound. Awesome hi-hats and cymbals.

Cons: None

Very nice

Matt g from Ferriday Louisiana on 10/3/2012

Tweeters sound great in my extended cab truck. I am very satisfied with them. I would highly recommend them.

Pros: Great sound. Good power handling

Cons: None so far.

Yes, those filters block bass from going to the tweeters [ David  Mar 11, 2018 ]

We found the factory tweeters in the stock sail panels of the doors. The entire sail panel can be removed to access the proprietary tweeter mount from behind. Because the stock tweeter mounts to the back of the sail panel with a proprietary clip, any new tweeters will require custom modifications to the panel to fit and secure them in the same location.
