Worthy materials

Alpine's carbon fiber-reinforced plastic woofer cones provide next-level sturdiness but are also agile enough to handle the complexities of the midrange. Their high amplitude multi-roll rubber surround contributes to reduced distortion for a cleaner sound, while silk dome tweeters give you all the precise details that bring out the character of the instruments and vocals. If you've never experienced Alpine sound quality, these speakers are a great place to start.

Grilles are not included; the factory grilles should be suitable for most applications.

Q
can i use these for lower cab corner speakers on 1999 ford ranger? i know i can use in them in the front door speakers same size to. please advise

A
Greetings Jonny, and thank you for checking. Technically no, they are a 3/10ths of an inch deeper than we measured in the Ranger lower cab corner for depth. If you come up with a spacer 3/10ths of an inch thick, they would fit.

Q
I have a stock head unit in an 2014 f150 STX crewcab. I have Alpine S-S57 installed in my doors. What amp and head unit would give me better sound? Can I just add an amp without upgrading the head unit?
jonathan  Aug 19, 2022

A
You've got tons of options, Jonathan! May I assume that you do not have the OEM Kicker factory upgrade? If not these options are solid ones below. First up is a new classic, the Alpine Power pack. This would be spliced in and has speaker level inputs for direct connection to the factory radio. This pumps up the wattage, but it provides no correction on the EQ on the factory radio. The second link is the iDatalink Maestro AR amp replacement module. You could use this unit with the Alpine (or any other 4-5 channel amp). This creates pre outs on your factory radio and also corrects the original EQ for much better sound. This unit comes with a couple required items paired with your exact truck that could make install super easy. This option provides the ultimate sound from the factory radio! https://www.crutchfield.com/p_500KTP445U/Alpine-KTP-445U-Power-Pack.html https://www.crutchfield.com/p_794ADSMAR/iDatalink-Maestro-AR-Amplifier-Replacement-Module.html

Q
what frequency should i set my 445u to run 4 of the type s 5x7? running it 45 x 4 unbridged, its at 80hz at just under 1/4 gain, but i "think" i could get more from it?
chris  Jun 04, 2020

A
80hz is a pretty good starting point. Do you also have a sub(s)? Where do you feel like the sound is lacking? Our tech support can best help you tweak and troubleshoot installation. You can find their phone number at the bottom of your invoice.

Q
I was looking to run my new alpine KTU445A mini amp bridged at 90 Watts per channel to (2) of the alpine 5 x 7 will 90w per speaker be ok ?

If you're going to bridge the "A" version, you'll need to get into the TuneIt App or head unit advanced audio settings and adjust the respective level in the crossover section to turn them down 2-3dB to achieve the 75W RMS or you could simply use the fader to emphasize more power toward the other set of speakers because the "A" version does not have adjustable gain controls. I am going to to the same thing with my truck when I get the KTP-445A in and the S-S57's that I've ordered. I wanted the simplify the re-addition of rear speakers to my system and also I need a low-amperage draw as I'm already drawing enough off my alternator as it is. Currently I'm running R-S65C.2's bi-amped with the tweeters from an old set of SPX-17REF instead of the CFRP tweeters that come with the R-S65C.2's (metal got into an X woofer). I didn't like the way those sounded plus one of them blew in less than a week on me. I'm also running the 30MC Midrange speakers. The mids and tweets are run off an MRP-F300 with gains adjusted to give proper wattage (25W RMS x 2 for the tweeters, 50W RMS to the mids), the mid-bass 6.5's are running off a bridged MRP-F240 at 100W RMS x 2, and then I have my R-W10D4 wired in parallel to give a 2-ohm load to my S-A60M which was actually tested at 851W RMS x 1 at 2-ohms per the verification certificate that came with the amp AND I verified that with a multimeter myself. I'm running 1,201W RMS right now in my 2000 Ranger regular cab and hitting 110dBA. I'm going to the the KTP-445A with the S-S57's and I'm going to adjust them down with the crossover level on the head unit. I've had the KTP-445A in another car and it usually reaches full power at 20 on the volume but I have everything tuned to 30 for the rest of the system so 30 would be WAY too high with the 445A. I'm also running an RF DSR-1 DSP to control my time alignment, phases, crossovers, and EQ's for the fronts and sub. Can't wait to add another 150W RMS though I'll prob push them a bit more if I can!

Hi Phil, thank you for your question. We do not recommend exceeding the RMS power rating that are set forth by speaker manufacturers, so you could run the Alpine S-S57 speakers off of your Alpine power pack, without bridging the channels. Feel free to chat with a member of our Advisor team online or by phone at 1-800-324-9695, if you would like to discuss this recommendation or gather further information.
