Double the fun

Alpine has been pumping out great sound for over 40 years, and now their Halo Series subwoofer enclosures make it easier to add more bass to your system. Dishing it out

The S-SB12V comes loaded with Alpine's S-W12D4 subwoofer wired for 2-ohm impedance. The sub's Kevlar-reinforced cone and Santoprene surround give you solid bass response at power levels up to 600 watts RMS. The ported enclosure is tuned to 35 Hz to maximize performance.

Getting it together

Two S-SB12V enclosures can be linked using Alpine's KTX-H12 linking kit (sold separately). Heavy-duty steel front and rear linking brackets connect the enclosures for a compact, sturdy dual-subwoofer solution. The silver linking brackets match the enclosure trim for a neat, coordinated look.

Features

Driver: The Alpine S-SB12V loaded enclosure features a single S-W12D4 12", dual 4Ω voice coil subwoofer driver. The new S-Series driver features an improved voice coil that allows it to handle increased power over previous versions. The high strength frame is designed to withstand the rigors of the new S-Series motor. Frame leg vents and a vented back plate help keep the sub driver running cool. The driver also features two strontium ferrite magnets stacked together for increased motor strength and excursion. Both 4Ω voice coils are wired in parallel for a single 2Ω connection.

Power Handling: The S-SB12V can handle up to 600W RMS.

Enclosure: The S-SB12V's ported enclosure design has been optimized for use with the S-W12D4 driver, and has been tuned to 35Hz for deep, powerful bass. It features a rigid, heavy-duty MDF construction that's been wrapped in attractive black carpet, with a smooth black finish and silver trim on the front face.

Enclosure Linking (Optional): The S-SB12V's unique design allows it to be linked to an additional S-SB12V (sold separately) using the optional KTX-H12 linking kit. This features an aluminum rear link-plate and an attractive, steel-reinforced ABS front linking bracket that securely locks the two enclosures together.

Terminals: A single rear-panel terminal cup houses a pair of binding posts for connection, accepting up to 12 ga. speaker wire. Both of the driver's voice coils are wired in parallel for a single 2Ω load.

Customer Q&A

2 questions already asked

Q
Can I use the Alpine MRV-M250 Mono V-Power Digital Amplifier with this sub?
[ Keller  Aug 24, 2021 ]

A
Although it may work for a while, I wouldn't recommend it, since it's slightly underpowered for that sub. I went w/ the Alpine S-A60M w/ the same sub, and it worked well in my car. The Bass sounds clear and deep when it drops... it's a great sub for sure though!!!
[ Alejandro  Aug 25, 2021 ]
A
Yes. It just doesn't match the highest rated output of the speaker in wattage. It'll still sound good.

Q
Can I use this with the power pack kta450?
[ nathan  Mar 16, 2021 ]
1 answer
A
the kta 450 is 5o watts x4 or it can be bridged to 100 watts x2. It is not a good match for this subwoofer at all. For information on selecting the best amp for your subs I would recommend reaching out to an Advisor by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat. They will be able to help determine the differences between the amp models and help you make the best choice for your system.
