Enjoy your tunes, your way

The Alpine TuneIt 2.5 App gives you the ability to fine-tune your car's sound system. Just download the free app onto your iPhone or Android smartphone and create a profile including your car and sound system information. The app will help you your adjust the receiver's 9-band parametric EQ, frequency filters, Media Xpander, and other sound settings for your specific vehicle, or you can use the settings already created for your car in Alpine's ever-growing vehicle database. Better yet, you can check out settings that other users have created for your specific vehicle on Facebook.

If you're planning on adding an amp or two to your system, the UTE-62BT features three sets of 4-volt preamp outputs, so you have plenty of options. Once you've added more power, you can then make further adjustments by updating the settings in your TuneIt App profile.

Plenty of connectivity options

With the handy front USB port, you can plug in a flash drive that you've loaded up with music, or connect your iPod® or iPhone to listen to music. You can play MP3, WMA, WAV, and FLAC music files via USB. You can also connect a portable MP3 player or other sound source to the front auxiliary input.

The UTE-62BT works with a SiriusXM tuner (sold separately), making it easy to tune into satellite radio's in-depth music, news, and entertainment  programming wherever you drive.

I have installed this head unit in five different vehicles. It's the best single DIN head unit out there in my opinion. Tons of features. My favorite is the 9 band parametric EQ.

Pros: 9 band parametric, range expander, complete sub control.

    Cons: None.

It was everything I was expecting and more! Sounds great compared to my previous brand of radio. The app makes tuning your radio simple and very fast. I would recommend this radio to everyone! It's my opinion that its the best head unit in its class and price range.

Pros: Tons of features, app is fantastic, high quality sound, and the price is unbeatable!

Cons: Haven't found any yet. Maybe the fact it doesn't come with a remote? But who really uses them anyway.

Alpine for my S2000. Fit well, sounds fine, works as it should. Note that I purchased the XM receiver as well; however, went to a 3rd party for the cable and other so my steering wheel controls work. Nice interface. Easy to install and program to customize the way you like it. Has all the features for a good price. Can play from a flash drive, AUX for iPod and obviously radio. I really liked the choice to change the colour to my liking, there are 30 built in colours to choose from or create your own. Bluetooth for android phone with mic included really took it over the top for me. I would really recommend this Alpine and also the buying process from Crutchfield was really easy. Fast shipping.

    Pros: See review.

Cons: Does not play M4a files or support exFAT on the flash drive. You will need to format flash drive to FAT16 or 32.

I installed this in my Honda S2000 two weeks ago, replacing the factory radio. Installation was super simple and the instructions Crutchfield provided were spot-on. I ended up ordering a 3rd party harness specifically for some additional features I wanted with the S2000 dash controls, so I didn't use the harness Crutchfield provided. I also purchased the Alpine 445A amp (installation was also simple). The sound is amazing compared to the stock system. The 9-band EQ provides fine-grained control over the sound and allows a lot of customization and tweaks. I chose this model (UTE-62BT) vs. the newer 73BT because of the 9 band EQ, and it was worth it. The TuneIt app is also great for making sound adjustments without fiddling with the front controls. I highly recommend this deck!

Pros: Super-simple installation Fantastic sound A lot of sound customization options\ TuneIt app is great!

    Cons: None.

Alpine sound never seems to disappoint! The 9 channel equalizer allows you to dial in to the sound you want and its awesome! I had one issue with my power antenna that would stay up whenever the head unit is on. From the research that I did, the only way to combat this situation is to put a switch on the ant wire. Weird because the Alpine Head unit that the UTE-62BT replaced antenna worked as it should. It doesn't affect the radio in any way, just another step. Overall I am happy to post a 5 star rating.

    Pros: 9 channel equalizer

Cons: positive power on antenna wire.

It's fantastic. All the nuanced details you'd expect to hear from an Alpine, and the Bluetooth connects much easier than previous models (specifically the CDE-172BT I have in my other car). I chose this unit for two main reasons: - I am a live sound engineer that loves to tweak eq and time delays and use pink noise with a spectrum analyzer - the car I put it in has an environment that needs that extra tweaking. The cabin doesn't have a very natural open and flowing quality to it. That being said, the time alignment works wonders. The 9 band eq has a narrower width selection, but it can work if you know what you're doing.

Pros: Sounds amazing Fantastic advanced features (eq, time alignment)

Cons: Not my favorite face design.

I am very pleased with the look and function of the Alpine stereo that I purchased from Crutchfield and the customer service that aided me in making my selection. The install instructions provided by Crutchfield for my vehicle were poor at best, which is why I have rated this item a 3 out of 5. My vehicle ('84 classic car) did not have an available harness which complicated the install tremendously.I wish I would have paid a professional to do the install.

Pros: Great stereo with great functionality for the price.

Cons: Install instructions for my vehicle were useless.

I've always been an Alpine fan, and this deck did nothing to dispel. A noticeable improvement in sound quality over the stock deck. (2000 Camry) Controls are easy to navigate and the display is easy to read. Great install instructions and the included wiring harness made it a breeze to install.

Love this Alpine unit in my 1995 F150! I had it professionally installed, so I can't comment on ease of installation. The sound was pretty hollow until I figured out how to download the Alpine app on my iPhone. The instructions are fairly difficult to follow, and I went around in circles for a while. Once I figured them out, my satisfaction went from 3 to 5. The screen color is adjustable to match the dash lights-great feature.

ok installed this one myself in my BMW Z3. Older car, needed an upgrade, wanted to stay German. LOVE this little stereo, sounds great, love the features. Maybe I'm just so glad to finally have bluetooth from my phone! Easy to use, easy to figure out. I only had to splice all the little wires in the cable, then just plugged it into the car and the stereo.

Pros: Bluetooth, USB, aux plug, no moving parts, easy install, not too expensive.

I owned a UTE-42BT and paid 99.00, I thought the UTE-62BT was a major upgrade since the price went up. The UTE62-BT is harder to program and what is supposed to be the bass button is rather confusing and not worth bothering with. Not much gain other than being able to change the display colors.

Pros: BT capability Different Color Illumination

Cons: Price Difficult to program Bass button not worth messing with USB port

Radio does everything I need it today. Install was super easy on my Jetta. I did run into problems with Bluetooth getting disconnected which was fixed by flashing the radio firmware. It works perfectly now. The only thing I cannot figure out is how to get the song artist and title to scroll on the screen so if anyone knows how to enable this that would be awesome. I paired this with an Alpine power pack and it's clear and plenty loud for my style of music. I would buy this again for sure.

Pros: Ease of install and clarity

Cons: Needed firmware flash to fix some Bluetooth bugs.

Great head unit when paired to the alpine 445A. I'm still trying to comprehend why a non cd playing unit takes up so much chassis room. Seems like a lot of wasted dash space that could be used for a bigger on board amp, but anyway... Easy enough user interface, good Bluetooth connectivity, worth the low price for sure.

It's been over 20 years since I last "installed" anything. My factory HU was starting to hum along the highway which kinda bothered me. I decided to test it out by swapping my present HU with another HU I got on loan from a friend (he has my same vehicle) and the humming went away. That's when I decided it was time to ditch the factory stuff and get an after market with tons of quality in it. I admit, I read and read and read reviews and such and was over whelmed. The only thing I did come out with from all that reading was that I really did not need a CD player. Then, as if it fell onto my lap from the sky, I cam across this unit. 2 things IMMEDIATELY jumped out to me. The "Alpine" name which from my old high school days meant top notch equipment (and expensive back then!) and the fact it was a CD-less unit! No more reading, I jumped on the opportunity. The unit reached me in 3-4 days and installation was a breeze. Instructions could have been a bit more clearer in terms of what wire does what but I was able to overcome that with my friend "Google". My biggest issue was that the wiring in my vehicle was a bit short in coming out of my dash. My big hands made it a bit of a challenge but I accomplished my job. The test. Worked like a charm from the first start up! The FLAC play back (I have all my CD's recorded to a USB in FLAC) was outstanding. Sound detail was all there and I dare say, I am hearing sounds that I was not otherwise hearing! RECOMMEND

Pros: Sound quality. Elegant look and feel. Options for an assortment sound enhancement (EQ, etc.). Personally, FLAT has sounded perfect so far! Better sound staging. Great connection to my RF R300X4 amp. Now, to upgrade my speakers!

Cons: Learning curve BUT it will all come to you in a short period of time. Better explanation of wiring needs (but that just might be me in not having done installations in about 20 years).

I'm happy with the capabilities of my UTE-62T however it would be a much better product if Alpine would improve the user interface. The front panel switches are a bit too small, the display is much too dim in the daytime, and the behavior of common settings needs to be rethought. For example, I'm constantly having to change the Display setting because the unit doesn't remember settings that differ from source to source. Every time I switch to Aux mode I have to change the the display to display the time. Every time I switch to USB Input I have to change the display to display the Song title. I would think a simple firmware enhancement would fix these kinds of issues. The user interface just requires too many steps that take the driver's attention away from the road. Did I mention that the display is too dim? It's so dim that it is impossible to read in bright daylight. The UTE-62BT also lacks some basic conveniences that my factory car stereo had. I shouldn't have to take my eyes off the road and look at a small display and find a small button to press to change audio sources. Each source should be selectable by a single push of a button. Or, at most, pressing a "Function" button that changes the function of the other buttons to a different function. Also, I wish the unit should store different EQ presets for each source and each FM station preset. In other words, it should remember that I want to use the "News" equalizer preset with the FM talk station.

Bought this Alpine unit to replace an aging Alpine unit I've had in my Jeep for 16 years. Decided it was time to upgrade to a unit that had bluetooth capability to connect with my phone. Looked at more expensive units but most of them had CD players and after some thought, I couldn't remember the last time I had played a CD in my Jeep so I decided to try this "mech-less" unit. Installed the unit and and have had no issues with it connecting to my iPhone via bluetooth. Connected up my old iPod (version 3) with the 30 pin USB cord and it charges and plays music just fine without having to connect in to the 3.5 mm aux jack. USB connection charges my iPhone and my iPod. I'm still learning some of the menu's and how to access certain features but overall am pleased. This unit allows you to control the iPod menu on the display but it's a little confusing and easier at the moment to just control the iPod on it's own menu. Connected up the microphone and have made hands free calls that sound good on both ends and that was with the top down. One important thing to be aware of if installing yourself! Look at the wiring diagram sticker on the unit to match up with the wiring harness that Crutchfield gives you. I printed out the instructions for this unit from Alpine so I could read them easier while installing and they are completely wrong. My fade and balance were all messed up. Finally went with the sticker on the unit and everything worked fine.

Pros: Easy to install. Connects to iPhone and iPod very easy.

Cons: Poor wiring diagram from Alpine. Do not consult instructions but use the wiring diagram sticker on the unit itself. Poor instructions on how to get the sleeve off of the main unit.

Got it for a 1998 BMW 323 Convertible... installed easily with harness. Bought the wire connectors as well as the harness for seamless connecting. Dont forget to buy the BMW radio removal tool!! The Alpine installed easily and sounds crystal clear. Took a while to figure out how to change face colors as it wasnt in the manual. Played with the buttons and figured it out. Bluetooth works well. The Alpine App for equalizer etc connects flawlessly and makes it soubd even better. Also... if you are using Bluetooth for yoyr tunes, dont forget to ALSO go into your phones own sound settings as well. Good power unit. I have the Harmon kardon Hifi system option, and while I have after market speakers in the doors and footwells, the suwoofer is still stock as well as the HK amp. All together is works and sounds great. Last thing: I also have a 2013 Audi Q5 with Bang and Olufson sound that came with car. It sounds great. But this Alpine in my set up probably sounds the same if not BETTER.

I am very pleased with this head unit from Alpine. It is feature-rich and is a bargain at the price I paid through Crutchfield. The 9 band selectable freq parametric EQ is the same offering found on their more expensive models, as well as time delay and LP filters for F & R outputs and separate subwoofer tuning controls. Variable lighting allows matching to the dash, but the big square buttons tend to glare at night as they are larger and brighter than the rest of the display. SQ in my application I can't quite attest to - it's pushing through the integrated factory amp which seems to boost 125hz and roll off above 15khz. My other alpine HUs are all crystal clear and unaltered with the same sonic signature - so I suspect the limits in this installation are the vehicle, not the HU. All buttons press consistently and firmly; faceplate feels of quality. Separate buttons for radio presets are much appreciated, rotary volume is a must-have; only drawback is buttons like are tiny and clumsy right next to the rotary control. A couple of notes on bluetooth. Unlike other previous Alpine HU, this one has adjustable blutooth mic gain. Call quality is important to me for the other end of the line to hear my voice clearly, and I'm told it's clear. I'm told it's more clear than a previous pioneer unit I had. However, the BT music quality is not as clear as it is with other alpine HUs. USB connection is crystal clear.

Pros: Full alpine suite of features for adjusting SQ Great Display, mature and able to match dash

Cons: BT audio does not seem as clear as with other alpine HUs.

Goal was to update '01 s2000 for Bluetooth music streaming, plus the original unit was eating cd's and not giving them up willingly...excellent upgrade, when I turn off the car, the iPad I use automatically pauses and it restarts when I crank up again...easy pairing, too. I did read the manual a couple of times to familiarize with options/ where to find instructions which is unusual for me, but I alternated it with looking on YouTube for install pics (nice to drive an enthusiast car, tho I'm an oldie) so all you kids out there posting how to videos, keep them coming! (Thanks, too, to guys at Modifry!). Sound quality is better and I haven't done the speakers, yet...the only downside is, I have a bit of a time reading the display when under way, (oldie contrast vision does degrade)...overall my goals were pretty modest, and this suits me perfectly...cheers!

I can't remember the last time my wife had CD's in her Jeep. The current Alpine CD player in it works superb but, my wife has an Android phone and she has to thumb through it to listen to her music with the USB connection. The Alpine MD player is the answer so she can enjoy her music without the hassle of messing with her phone. Being Android friendly and having Bluetooth she can keep her eyes on the road and be less distracted. Everything else that it features is a bonus and the current Alpine already provides. It has always been great for sound and performance. The CD player the MD player is replacing will soon be going into my Jeep.

Pros: Bluetooth, Android and Iphone friendly, Clean sound, and Infinite color choices

    Cons: None so far

I like this head unit a lot. It's sonic signature is really nice. Super upgrade over stock even with OEM speakers. My only complaint is the Alpine iTuneit app. Very poor. Crashes. My hope was to be able to use the app to adjust the sound like my old Alpine CDA-9887 with the KTX-100EQ kit. To this day, I cannot find a rival for sound/time/and general love for that unit. Terrible that Alpine canned it. So my take, get it if you are happy with adjusting sound manually by ear, but don't even try the poor iTuneit app. PS> Don't even think of installing this in an 2005ish Subaru Outback. The instructions are poor due to inability to access the manual temp control cable. What a nightmare. Three days on my head upside down under the dash.

    Pros: Sound Adjustability

Cons: Inability to take use other apps while phone is plugged into USB Terrible Alpine iTuneit app Incredibly difficult and poor installation instructions for Subaru Outback.

I had this professionally installed in an old jeep to power 4 small speakers and output to an amplified sub. There are many options for this configuration and assorted crossover and sub controls. The features on the unit are exactly what I was looking for: infinitely adjustable led colors, bluetooth and usb for both charging and using the unit's dac. The phone functionality is a little sketchy so far, but hard to test scientifically with the mic on the dash of an old jeep. But no one can hear me. The fact that there is an app is nice and it is great for adjusting the crossovers. It is not a great app.

Pros: features, classic alpine looks with led color customization, flexible setup, amp sounds great and provides plenty of power for 4" speakers :)

Cons: The phone mic is not good. I don't want to rag on the app because it was useful during the initial setup, but it's not good.

So I bought this to upgrade my ford sync system. I have upgraded speakers and a sub hooked up. Just wanted a great blue tooth for the iPhone and great tunes. What I got is great connectivity but poor microphone clarity, ease of stereo hookup but the alpine tuner app is very weak at best. I installed the steering wheel adapter kit and it works spot on. It's mediocre sound quality control and aside from the poor microphone clarity it's an okay unit for what it is. I'm going to upgrade after 3 months of trial use.

Pros: Ease of use Easy to install Straight forward controls Great blue tooth connectivity

Cons: Poor sound quality control Alpine app is cute but useless Microphone clarity poor at best

Back in the day Alpine was one of the top products. I bought this based on my previous knowledge and haven't been disappointed. I just wanted a media player since I don't listen to cds anymore but stream from my phone. PAirs quick and easy, sounds better than OEM, but the app is where I was disappointed. The app claims you can tune to your vehicle but you have to setup and account. So far after 3 weeks I can't. I get error messages instead. If it wasn't for the price I would've got the 80PRS or Sony I was looking at. I bought this based on the Alpine name and the app. The app has been the disappointment.

Pros: fits nice. sounds great. looks cool.

Cons: Alipne tuning app only allows manual tuning since you can't sign up for an account and access all the features.

This model head unit was a great upgrade from the factory, even with minimal wattage ratings running without an amplifier it produces clean sound that, with the right speakers, can really boost the quality of your music. The install was a breeze with the help from a few modifry products specifically built for the S2000 but it's perfect for the car and allows you to close the factory radio door so no need to remove the system incase of theft.

Pros: -Solid quality -Great power output (running with No amplifier) -Easy installation -Great level of depth with the onboard EQ.

Cons: -completely resets when battery is disconnected from my vehicle

First off thank you Crutchfield for making the purchasing experience simple and easy. Okay so I have to admit I bought this unit for my son because I have long been an Alpine fan. We had looked at Kenwood and Pioneer, but in my earlier teenage years I had problems with both. I am sure things have change. What I can say is Alpine has change too! It is much better than I remember. The sound quality is amazing. I mean we put in this unit and it is like the factory speakers thought they were Audio Frog or something. Very Very impressive. Oh and the Bluetooth setup is so easy. I love getting in the truck and having everything ready to go. Including my music starting to play very cool.

This is a good head unit for the price. Controls are easy to navigate and the TuneIt app allows you to make adjustments to the 9 band equalizer.

Pros: TuneIt smartphone app makes adjusting the sound parameters easy. Multi-color key/display allows you to perfectly match to the interior of your car. Stay on function allows you to listen to music for a user set period of time after pulling the key out of the ignition.

Cons: Single line display for audio tracks, won't show time if displaying artist/song. Big battery icon in the middle of the screen that will continuously flash if phone batter is below 50% (andriod). While tuning is easy, I found that the audio seemed hollow. The EQ adjustments for one song would sound terrible on the next song played, seemed almost impossible to get the perfect tune set up (on JBL GTO 629s). Switched to CDE-148BT for $20 more, sound quality is much better, night and day.

Alpine does a great job of making the features that you will use on a daily basis easily accessible and easy to use, but if you read the manual and dig into the menu system of this unit there are some highly customizable advanced features that I was really surprised would be included in a unit at this price. Forgot how great Alpines sound even with stock speakers!

Pros: My Iphone was easy to pair with the unit and making calls through voice commands and playing music on my phone by giving voice commands was a breeze. The sound is crystal clear and awesome. The removable face is nice feature and being able to change the illumination color of the display and buttons to several different colors is a cool feature.

    Built-in Bluetooth

Bluetooth Technology: The Alpine UTE-62BT features built-in Bluetooth (ver. 2.1+EDR) technology. The head unit's built-in Bluetooth allows you to make and receive phone calls wirelessly through the receiver; as well as stream music wirelessly from your smartphone to the head unit. In order to use Bluetooth wireless technology, your phone must also be Bluetooth compatible and be able to interpret certain profiles. This unit is compatible with the following Bluetooth Profiles:

    • Hands-Free Communication: HFP 1.5 (Hands Free Profile), HSP (Head Set Profile), OPP 1.1 (Object Push Profile), PBAB 1.0 (Phone Book Access Profile).
    • Audio Streaming: A2DP 1.2 (Advanced Audio Distribution Profile), AVRCP 1.4 (Audio/Video Remote Control Profile).
Note: Due to the differences in Bluetooth technology, some Bluetooth enabled devices may be incompatible, function improperly, or may not support all features when used with the Alpine UTE-62BT.

Secure Simple Pairing (SSP) + Auto Pairing (for iPhone): With Secure Simple Pairing (SSP), you can easily pair a Bluetooth enabled phone to the Alpine UTE-62BT without having to enter pin codes or go through complicated settings. When a registered Bluetooth device is in close proximity to the receiver, the auto connection function automatically pairs the two units. You can register up to three Bluetooth-enabled devices with the Alpine head unit (only one device can be used at a time). You can also pair your Apple iPhone (iOS 5.0+) by simply connecting it to the Alpine head unit via USB and following a single prompt on the head unit's display.

Hands-Free Communication: The head unit supports Bluetooth hands-free communication for your Bluetooth enabled mobile phone (including iPhone & Android). The controls of the UTE-62BT can be used to dial a number, answer an in-coming call, or end a call. The unit also includes an external microphone, so you can carry on your side of the conversation while listening to the caller through your vehicles speakers. During a conversation, you can initiate a transfer of audio between your mobile phone and your car's speakers.

    • Receiving Calls: The Alpine UTE-62BT provides a couple ways to answer your phone calls without picking up your mobile phone. Incoming calls are announced by a caller ring tone through your vehicle's speakers (music will be muted) & a Caller ID message across your Alpine head unit's display.
      • Manual Answer: Manually answer an incoming call by pressing the "Phone" button on your Alpine head unit.
      • Automatic Answer: Set the Alpine head unit to answer the incoming call automatically; when a call is received, it is answered automatically after approximately 5 seconds.
      • Call Waiting: If a second call is received during a current call, you can have the first caller wait momentarily while you take the second call. When you are finished with one call, you can switch to the other.
    • Placing Calls: The Alpine UTE-62BT provides a variety of functions for placing a phone call without using your mobile phone. The Alpine UTE-62BT features full phone book access, call history, voice tag dialing, and redial with compatible phones.
      • Voice Dialing: If you have a voice-dial capable phone, you can dial a phone contact by simply speaking the name of your contact.
      • Phonebook (with ABC search): Up to 1,000 contacts (5 telephone numbers for each name) can be downloaded from your compatible mobile phone. You can select the first 3 call letters (ABC) to search for a desired name in your phonebook.
      • Preset Dialing: You can assign phone numbers that you dial frequently to presets (1-6) for quick recall. You can assign up to six frequently called phone numbers. A total of 18 phone numbers can be stored in the preset memory (6 numbers for each mobile phone paired).
      • Call History: The previously dialed, received, or missed numbers (20 each) can be retrieved and dialed from memory.

My AMG had Alpine from the factory, it finally failed at 18 years of age... I have always had high-end Alpine gear in my other rigs and appreciate how well it integrates and the quality of sound. Now that discs have died this unit will do all I need, thanks Bluetooth! Planning for a simple drop-in upgrade for now, will gather amps and subs from my other cars to go into this rig...looking forward to some installation fun and sound appreciation! Too many reasons to fit in 500 characters. I got a used truck today and I needed Bluetooth for my phone talk hands free, stream music, hear navigation instructions, and maybe Sirius/XM kit later if I find it doesn't stream well over 4G. It looks like this one has a 9 band equalizer which might help me tune the truck a little better vs the UTE-73BT that just has a 3 band. [ ROBERT  Aug 18, 2018 ]

Very compact design, fits easily inside the small dash of my Jeep. Will allow me to add Alpines small 4-channel amp directly to the back of the unit, plus due to the small design, the amp will also fit behind the dash. With multiple pre-outs, I will be able to add an amp and subwoofer at a later date. Alpine head units have always held up over the years for me and I expect the same with this model. I have the 52BT and needed one for another car, the 52BT works great really love the tuneit app with my subwoofers the difference between tuned or not is drastic. So choosing the 62BT was really a matter of not having a 52 to choose from. I love everything about it. The output quality of the connected device determines quality of the sound.I read reviews from another brand having BT connection problems? I have never had that issue with my alpine 52 hope 62 is as good. [ Jennifer  Jul 18, 2017 ]

Came to the realization that CD's are dead. I actually fought myself a bit on this. I still have quite a few CDs but most are already MP3 or FLAC files on my PC. My son just turned 16 and I am going to show him how to install a car stereo system. I bought my first car stereo from Crutchfield when I was 15 and they are still the best in the business. This unit will allow safe Bluetooth connectivity to his iPhone. He also has all of his music on his phone, so he doesn't have any need for a CD player. Great features for a very good price. I have always loved Alpines quality. This is for my sons first car and the upgrade to the 62 model over the 52 model is for the RGB control so the radio blends with the dash gauges. The decision for the UTE model is because all his music is on his iPhone and this allows him to use hands free when momma calls keeping his hands at ten and two. [ John  Oct 05, 2016 ]

After confirming it had the features that I wanted, I focused on usability. The Alpine unit appeared to have better usability (judging from the reviews) than other receivers. I'm a usability expert and I've noticed that many tech companies are struggling with balancing usability and features. I was very disappointed with the usability of a Retrosound unit. It would be good if Crutchfield could provide a more in depth usability review (besides "Ease of use") from the purchasers. [ David  Sep 30, 2016 ]

Can I turn off the Pandora controls? I much prefer to use the Pandora app to select and play music. On my current Alpine deck once I plug in my phone via USB it forces me to use the head unit for pandora controls - annoying.

No if your compatible device is connected via USB you can not turn off the Pandora controls through the radio once that is selected as the source.

Can you turn the subwoofer low pass crossover off??to send a full range signal an cross it over at the amplifier.
    [ Carlos  Jan 01, 2018 ]
    2 answers
    A
This unit can utilize the Alpine App from the app store or Google play which seems to give you total control of the the crossover functions. You should connect to the sub amp through the subwoofer outputs on the unit and then into your amplifier's sub inputs. The crossover is just eliminating frequencies above or below a certain frequency range, so there is really no need to bypass the units crossover system.

I use an iPhone but generally speaking as long as your device has Bluetooth capabilities or you can use a aux plug you should be fine since you're not storing the music on the Alpine unit I can't imagine it mattering. I've even been able to play YouTube videos and have the audio redirect to the alpine.

Terry I installed mine a year ago and I forgot. I don't think it does. But I would call a tech at Crutchfield they helped big time on this receiver at the time. And I didn't have to wait to talk to anyone.
    [ Steven John  Apr 08, 2017 ]

It does not have rear inputs per se. RCA definitely not, there is two 3.5mm inputs, but one is for the microphone and the second one is for the remote.

Does the display dim corresponding to the state of the headlights? Eg. headlights off, full bright, on brightness reduced. If so, is the brightness of the two states adjustable?
    [ Hardy  May 12, 2016 ]

Hello Hardy It is reduced when you turn the parking light on and no change when you turn on the headlights or turn them off. Yes you can adjust the states
    [ Akram  May 14, 2016 ]
    A
It auto dims if you follow the correct wiring procedure. The dimming corresponds with the headlight switch being activated on my 2014 f150. I also used the recommended install kit provided by crutchfield.
