About the Jensen Heavy Duty JMICHFP

Ken Nail

Got a noisy car?

If you drive a noisy vehicle, you'll get better performance by connecting this external microphone to your Jensen Heavy Duty receiver with Bluetooth. The included clip allows you to attach it to your visor for perfect placement, so it'll pick your voice more clearly than the built-in mic in your Jensen. The included 12-foot cord plugs into the jack on the rear of your receiver. Warranty: 60 days.

What's in the box:

  • Omnidirectional microphone (w/ attached 12' cable terminated by a 4-pin connector)
  • Sun-visor clip
  • Self-adhesive bracket (pre-installed)

Product Research

Features

Compatibility: The Jensen Heavy Duty JMICHFP is an external omnidirectional microphone which can be connected to a compatible Jensen Heavy Duty head unit with built-in Bluetooth that features a 4-pin microphone input. This external microphone provides better performance in noisy environments than the integrated microphone found on the front-panel of your compatible Jensen Heavy Duty Bluetooth-enabled head unit.

Mounting Bracket: The microphone comes with a self-adhesive bracket and sun-visor clip. Both brackets allow the microphone to swivel left-to-right and rotate up-or-down.

Q
Will this work on Jenson Hd1bt motorcycle radio?
[ Bobby  Dec 10, 2020 ]
1 answer
A
I would say no I installed mine in a FedEx stepvan, the microphone picks up too much surrounding sound. You can hear who your talking to because it comes through the radio speakers. But the person on the other end can't hear you clearly through all the background noise.

Q
Will this work as a replacement microphone for any brand of car stereo or just Jensen?
[ JONATHAN  Oct 17, 2019 ]
2 answers
A
Thank you for your question, J! This mic is only compatible with Jensen receivers, there is a chance that this connection could work with any stereo, but we would not be able to guarantee the compatibility. The Kenwood QAN0137-001 is compatible with most radios. If you would like to chat with an Advisor online or by phone at 1-800-324-9695, they will be happy to help you out and answer any other questions you may have!

How do you turn this on a JHD3630BT? Manual suggests that the mic has a switch.
[ J  Aug 22, 2018 ]

No on/off switch on mine. When a paired phone makes or receives a call, mic should become active.

There is no switch on the mic. It turns on by the radio when you answer a phone call when you link your cell phone via Bluetooth.
[ Jeff  Aug 24, 2018 ]
A
No switch, just plug in and make a call
[ Matthew  Aug 22, 2018 ]

The switch is a button on the radio to answer phone calls. Mic simply plugs into rear of radio and is operated by radio buttons

Yes it will. I bought a new tractor this year for my farm based services and the microphone provides access to hands free operation and the bonus of not missing important calls while working. Just plug it in the back of the radio and you are ready to go.

Will this product work with any Bluetooth ( hands free calling) receiver? I have a Sony xav-68 bt receiver.
[ JUSTIN  Oct 23, 2014 ]

Most inputs are stereo headphone jack (like your earphones that connect to your phone). I'd suggest you check your receiver first.
[ ALEXANDER  Oct 24, 2014 ]
A
No -- this is a hardwired mic to the back of the stereo system that fits a specific input jack.
