About the Soundstream Reserve DPA5.2000D

A full-system amp with all the features you want
A full-system amp with all the features you want
Soundstream designed their Reserve Series DPA5.2000D 5-channel amplifier to supply your speakers, tweeters, and subs with plenty of power, and give you the ability to fine-tune the amplified sound to match each driver with digital precision. The DPA5.2000D can send each of your front and rear speakers 75 watts RMS while supplying a subwoofer with up to 400 watts RMS. Or, you can power a couple of high performance speakers with 250 watts each from the bridged front and rear channels, while powering a subwoofer with 400 watts RMS.
Digital signal processing
Digital Pre-Amp Tuning features include variable high-pass, low-pass, and bandpass filters, along with a variable bass boost and phase control. All setting are made by button and confirmed on the digital display. The high- and low-pass filters have unusually wide ranges (20-20K Hz) and steep slopes (48 dB/octave) to accommodate the widest variety of different tweeters, speakers, and subs you might use in your system. A wired remote lets you control the bass level from your front seat.
Soundstream Reserve
Soundstream knows that Crutchfield offers free lifetime tech support for the gear we sell — and that's one of the reasons why we can offer you their Reserve line of compact and powerful car amplifiers.

Features
Channel Configuration: The SoundStream DPA5.2000D is a 5-channel amp; essentially two full range 2-channel amps and one mono subwoofer amp built into one chassis. Both full range sections are bridgeable, so it can be configured as a 5-channel, 4-channel, or 3-channel amplifier.
Specifications:
- Power Output:
- Front and Rear Channels:
- 4Ω: 75 watts RMS x 4
- 2Ω: 125 watts RMS x 4
- Bridged: 250 watts RMS x 2-channels into 4Ω
- Subwoofer Channel:
- 4Ω: 200 watts RMS x 1
- 2Ω: 400 watts RMS x 1
- Front and Rear Channels:
- Signal to Noise Ratio: 70 dB
- THD: 0.5% (at 4Ω)
Protection Circuitry: The amplifier features built-in circuitry to protect against overload, short circuit, and overheating (160° Fahrenheit or higher).
Display: Along with the top mounted controls, there is a digital display. Normally either the input voltage or amp temperature is displayed. When adjusting any of the top mounted controls, the current setting is displayed.
Wired Remote: A wired remote level control is included to adjust the subwoofer channel. The remote has integrated flanges and screws are included to mount the unit under the dash. It includes an 18' cable to connect to the amplifier.
Remote Dimensions:
- Width: 1.56" wide (2.21" including the mounting flanges)
- Height: 1"
- Depth: 1.57" (2.2" including the knob and cable)
Controls: The controls for the front and rear amplifier sections are independent and identical; the subwoofer controls are also independent, but different from the front and rear controls. Other than the input gain, all the controls are on the top of the amp. The top mounted controls are labeled 1CH-2CH (front), 3CH-4CH (rear), and 5CH (subwoofer).
- Gain: two rotary controls (front and rear/sub) to match the amplifier to the output of the source unit; variable from 500mV to 8V
- Front and Rear:
- Level: output level; separate from the input gain control; range 1-20
- High Pass: high pass crossover point; range 20 Hz to 20 kHz with approximately ⅙ octave spacing
- Low Pass: low pass crossover point; range 20 Hz to 20 kHz with approximately ⅙ octave spacing
- Band Pass: both the high pass and low pass crossovers can be used simultaneously to create a band pass frequency range
- Subwoofer:
- Level: output level; separate from the input gain control; range 1-20
- Low Pass: low pass crossover point; range 20 Hz to 1 kHz with approximately ⅙ octave spacing
- SubSonic: high pass crossover point; range 10-50 Hz in 1 Hz steps
- Bass Boost: bass boost level centered at 45Hz; range 0-14 dB
- Phase: phase of the output; 0°-180° in 5° steps
Connections:
- Input: two ports for use with the included RCA input harnesses; when using speaker level inputs the RCA plugs can be cut off following the instructions in the manual
- Power/Ground: set screw terminals; will accept up to 8-gauge wire (8-gauge recommended)
- Remote Turn-on: set screw terminal; will accept up to 8-gauge wire (typically a much smaller wire is used)
- Speaker Output: the included harness has wiring for all five speakers
- Remote: 3.5mm mini-jack for use with the included wired remote level control
- Fuses: three 20-amp ATM (blade) fuses installed on the end of the amplifier; 60-amp fuse (minimum) also required on the power wire within 18" of the battery
