Do you have a great sounding home theater receiver, powered speaker, or iPod® dock that lacks the ability to play music wirelessly? Simply plug the Harman Kardon BTA 10 into any powered speaker or system with either a minijack or stereo RCA input and add Bluetooth capability. The compact BTA 10 can be hidden away while still letting you stream music wirelessly from your Bluetooth-enabled phone, tablet, or computer to your existing audio setup.
Works great, very reasonably priced and shipping is free.

Average Customer Review(s):
Great product at a reasonable price! Does exactly what I needed it to do.
Works great, very reasonably priced and shipping is free.
Pros: Very simple to connect and operate couldn't get simpler
Works perfectly on a older system very easy to operate
This is a great item for the price. I have an old receiver with some old speakers but I hate having all of the commercials on the radio. This Harman Kardon allows me to listen to my music from my phone and no commercials. Thank you
Pros: Music you want to listen all of the time
Cons: No commercials
Easy set up works great.
Exactly what I needed, converted my existing system instead without having to buy a new receiver, it's for a back room, mostly just play and fun, now I can put the money towards the main system
Pros: Inexpensive way o convert a old system, and dont need internet to connect another source like a play station for your YouTube music and such
Cons: No con honestly, jas great range as well
Works perfectly and it was simple to install.
Pros: Easy to install
What a great sounding Bluetooth adapter when using Audioquest Evergreen inteconnect. The sound from Apple Music on it is astounding. Auto pairing with my iPhone is very fast. True Hi-fi at a steal of a price.
Pros: Near CD quality sound, absolutely great price.
Works great and is easy to install and pair. I would give it 5 stars if it had a power switch. I unplug the power cord when not is use. I don't have a 110 v switched receptacle on my AVR available for that purpose.
Pros: Save LOTS of Money!! if all you want to do is add bluetooth capability to an existing system. i was looking at $1500 dollars to replace my current AVR
Product did not produce volume or Quality sound. Will be returned.
Cons: Product did not produce quality sound.
Installed on my home stereo. Easiest install ever. Music sounds much better thru big speakers than the Bluetooth can I was using prior. Great addition.
Harman Kardon BTA 10
Pros: Easy install and synch!
Installed in Cabin of my Four Winns 358; sound is great and can control sound from dock two slips away! Easy to install, link-up and use.
Pros: Easy to install Quality sound Distance to control Profile and look blends well into cabin
Cons: None identified yet
Works great! Easy to set up!
Easy to set up and use. Universal connectivity with different apps.
Pros: Very easy set up.
Cons: A bit more expensive than some of the competitors.
Super product. Easy hook up and immediate connection. Buy it.
Having lost patience with Apple's lack of reliable/affordable/practical streaming devices, this item saved me from having to buy a different receiver for my otherwise analog system. It's easy to setup and the sound is great (Tidal's HiFi tracks sound that way). The only downside is that sometimes the device falls "asleep" and you have to fiddle around a bit to wake it up. That said: Well worth the modest investment.
Works great, just as supposed to. Have it connected to my main 2 channel system. Would highly recommend.
Pros: Every aspect
Works great with my perfectly fine older receiver and speakers. Now streaming all my favorites from Spotify and Pandora. Very easy setup.
Works great with my 1978 toshiba receiver and JBL studio monitors from the same time period. As always Leia I think was her name did a great service job with me and my order. Love crutchfield! Thank you, Stuart
Very nice and easy to use BT for an older amp.
Pros: very easy to use
Easy setup, clear signal.
Pros: Easy setup, consistent
Cons: None yet
They work great! I have three of them so I can stream music in my garage my basement and my workplace. No wires no hassle.
Pros: Works great, good sound quality
This adapter works exactly as designed, very simple to install and use. The only drawback is since it uses an RCA connection it's an analog signal and it sounds like analog but it's not a big deal, it still does what I needed it to do.
Pros: Works as designed.
Cons: Not digital.
Brought my 20 year receiver into the 21st century!
Pros: Works great....simple installation
Excellent, easy to use Bluetooth unit that instantly connects and is virtually fool-proof
I ordered this receiver without talking to your sales staff. It turns out I didn't understand the great difference in quality in Bluetooth receivers. After taking with Customer Service I returned this product & got a receiver I'm very happy with.
Great device! Works as advertised and extremely easy to set up.
Works great, affordable. Need an on off switch, have to unplug and plug in to activate.
Pros: Cost, works as should, easy to set up
Cons: Have to unplug and plug in to turn on after sitting idle.
Great unit - I have had it working for a few weeks. Easy set-up. I drive it through my vintage 70's Marantz amp to my home stereo system - pairing it with my iPhone so I can use iTunes and my playlists and I also pair it with Amazon Echo Dot, so I can ask Alexa to play music via Pandora, Spotify or Amazon Music. Unit is much smaller than I thought. About the size of a book of matches - a good thing. It sits nicely beside my turntable with its blue light glowing. Quality of music produced through Marantz and Bose system is very good. No connection issues, no buffering, no skips so far. Harmon Bluetooth unit is located only 18 inches from the Echo Dot and I've paired and engaged the Harmon unit via my iPhone from far more than the advertised 30 foot range. In fact, in the backyard - changing music selection via my iPhone to my outdoor speakers (about 50-60 feet and through walls / glass).
Great product, easy set up and use. would recommend to a friend
The distance for Bluetooth receiving is quite impressive. But the sound is rather muffled. Almost no treble at all.
Pros: Great distance
Cons: Sound quality is poor.
I have a seldom used, but great quality, receiver and speakers bought when CDs were the cutting edge. It was largely replaced by portable Bluetooth speakers. I saw the BTA 10 and it looked like just what I needed. My system has never sounded better! Setup was easy and it works great. I highly recommend it to "update" your sound system!
Pros: Easy setup. Great sound. Price.
It's a lot smaller than I expected but that makes it hardly noticeable. It was very easy to setup. Bought it so my 91 year old mom can listen to her classical music station from her iPad thru her stereo system. Before this she was plugging in a connection manually but all the in and out created a faulty connection. This seems (so far so good - it's only been about a week) to work like a charm. She loves it!
This was extremely easy to setup. The sound quality is great. We have built in speakers in our great room and we were blown away by the sound. We have a top of the line older Yamaha receiver and it just paired with it so easily. I would highly recommend this product.
Pros: Easy setup, sound quality is excellent. The unit is very small and fits in any space
Cons: None that I could think of
Compact enough to hide and make folks wonder how you can play music wirelessly on an old music system. Excited to have found such a piece of equipment.
Pros: Found a way to play my music from my ipad
Cons: Need a better Bluetooth range.
Hooked it up to my old receiver and now play music from my Amazon account. Good sound quality
Simple, straight forward device that has allowed us to stream music to a very nice, albeit somewhat older Yamaha receiver . Less than 5 minutes to install and put in service.
I'm amazed at how quickly this thing setup. Less than 5 minutes and I was playing tunes from some spare Logitech speakers. Plug anything into this and it becomes Bluetooth wireless. Incredible, wish I would have found this earlier. Perfect connection and the sound is great. I'm going to buy one for my office. I purchased this to make my Klipsch home system wireless so I could stop plugging my phone into it every time I wanted to listen to music.
Pros: Small size and ease of connection.
The concept is fantastic. Only beef compared to direct line to my I6Plus is the volume output is 50% less to Bluetooth. I've told friends about this and they've never heard of it ! May want to get the word out . A lot of stereophiles out there and the quality is 100% !
Pros: Works with all types of old and none Bluetooth units .
Cons: Considerable volume loss as to DL ( direct line )
Works ok but I do have to keep unplugging it to get it to connect. I have not contacted CS yet.
I have tried a couple other brands of Bluetooth adaptors and those are long gone. I now own 2 of the Harman/Kardan HK BRA-10 adaptors and they work flawlessly. Thanks Crutchfield ??
Came in earlier than the expected date and works perfectly
The Harman/Kardon BTA 10 has superb sound quality. I wasn't expecting the unit to outperform my hardwired d/a converter, but it easily spanked the other. Highs were silky smooth, midrange was extremely transparent. The unit was punchy and dynamic and had an analog like detail and resolution with noticeably better imaging than the rival. I suspect that those who may have reported connectivity issues are using an outdated, less premiere source device. I had no connection problems and suspect another possibility to be the culprit for those experiencing difficulties. I think I'm going to have to order another one!
Pros: Grrrreat Sound, small footprint.
Cons: I'm a little dissapointed that HK is in some Balboa, CA bamboozle deal instead of Woodbury, NY
Turned my big JBL speakers WiFi ..????
This product did exactly what I wanted it to and that was to use my old but very good Yamaha amp with nice speakers already in place. Installation was a snap using a Youtube video and was done in less than ten minutes. The best advice I read regarding usage was to make sure your source (iphone, ipad, etc.) volume is low. Use the amp to increase volume. I you have your source volume too high you will get distortion. Lane from Crutchfield was excellent help in getting me just the product I needed. Thanks Lane!
Great product and well priced. Super easy to set up and good sound quality. Loses one star because it does lose connectivity a bit too often. Crutchfield staff are awesome!
Pros: Easy set up, good sound quality. well priced.
Cons: Loses connection, even when close to source, several times a week.
I have an older Bose surround sound system in my 4 season room and i like to use Alexa to connect to my Prime or Pandora music stations. I was easily able to connect the RCA cables included in the product package. Alexa had a bit of a problem locating the blue tooth signal but suggested to go to my Alexa app on my cell phone to force recognition of the new blue tooth device. This worked and Alexa was able to connect. I noticed some skipping in the connection and told Alexa to stop music and then to reconnect. I had to do that a couple of more times, but now the connection is skip free each time I connect.
Awesome product, I assure you this is easy to use it does everything for you in bluetooth stearming. And the customer service really knows what to offer a solution in what you need for your audio needs.
Pros: All pros
Cons: No cons
Awesome device. Smart, superb sound and flawless connectivity. I think I'll purchase another pretty soon. I set it up with a pair of Mackie S5 Studio Monitors very satisfied, rich fat sound.
Definitely NOT up to Harmon Kardon quality. Or at least not MY expectations from HK. It loses my devices frequently. I unplug the power and sometimes that works, sometimes it doesn't. About 50/50. Today it said I didn't have the right PIN. I've never entered a PIN and have no idea what they're talking about and it never would pair today with either my phone or iPad. The manual is a joke. Was it worth the money? Absolutely not.
Cons: Difficulty pairing. Poor manual. Extremely finicky.
Works great. Does exactly what I needed
the product works great when the Bluetooth is operating right , but sometimes it looses connectivity and stop playing , I'm using a MacBook Pro ,and the distance between computer and BTA10 is only 4 feet.
Pros: the product works great when the Bluetooth is operating right. Hooked it up to my 10 year old Yamaha system. I'm using a MacBook Pro ,and the distance between computer and BTA10 is only 4 feet, thru a glass window
Cons: sometimes it looses connectivity and stop playing ,
Love that I can play my phone apps through my stereo sounds great
Pros: Turns any non Bluetooth boom box or stereo to Bluetooth
Pros: Discreet, big sound
Cons: Not much to say
Great product. Hooked it up to my 30 year old HK system and just like that and now playing music from my phone.
Excellent adapter, work perfect in my stereo receiver.
quick and easy install and operates as advertised. Going to buy another one.
My 2-yr old Sony receiver does not have bluetooth connectivity but my Samsung S8 does & it has the Spotify app----it was a perfect match! Now I can listen to all my favorite music through my home stereo system via my smartphone.
Pros: -easy to set up -audio quality almost matches CD quality
Cons: -sometimes phone can't "find" the harmon kardon unit at first try
It works great! There are issues with Windows 10. Recommend anyone having issues, update audio driver/Bluetooth software on your computer, original factory installed software is the problem.
Pros: Small, cute, can be hidden easily, works great.
Cons: Computer software/hardware (Windows 10) issues connecting to the unit. You need to update drivers, get updates from PC manufacturer; HP in my instance. After updates are installed it worked great!
Love it! I am now able to enjoy all the music I access in/through my smartphone through my current audio system. Worth the price!
Pros: quick & easy way to equip older audio gear with blue tooth capability
Cons: none that I have run into
Product works great!
I have a 10 year old Denon receiver and somewhat newer Boston Acoustics speakers. Started to get a little frustrated lately that they were basically just collecting dust since we stream everything now on tablets. Bought this and hooked it up today. Very easy to set up. First test with my iPhone. Noticed major bass distortion on the newer music. Made some bass/treble adjustments. Older tracks, like The Temptations, sounded ok but not great. Then my 26 year old son walked in, immediately knew the problem. Your phone, tablet, etc. volume must be set no higher than at one. That's what causes the distortion. Another thing, you have to 'forget this device' on all devices before trying to connect again. It can only work on one device and, because it is continuously looking for a signal, i.e. there is no "pair mode", you have to pair again with another device. A bit inconvenient but worth it as opposed to buying a new receiver.
If you enjoy doing a new setup and new connection every time you want to listen to music, this product. If you prefer to enjoy your music without hassles, keep shopping.
It may seem a bit pricy, but connectivity is super fast and the sound quality is equal to my CD player that's connected to the same receiver . Very good.
Pros: Connectivity, sound quality
This unit is incompatible with Windows 10. Neither Harman Kardon or Microsoft offer driver support. This item is essentially an obsolete technology.
Pros: Works great with some products.
Cons: Doesn't work with Windows 10.
Easy set-up and great sound.
I have a Mitsubishi DA-R8 stereo receiver I purchased in 1983 and my FM stations would no longer work AM stations are fine. The Harman Kardon BTA10 was easy to install and works great. I can listen to all my music via Bluetooth and have great stereo sound.
Easy to hook up and it works great.
So right out of the box, this device is simple to plug and connect. I was pretty excited for this item as I'm using a McIntosh MA7200 receiver. As soon as I started playing music through my phone into my Martin Logan speakers, I got to say, the sound was uninspiring as I would have to crank the volume knob up to almost full to get some decent sound. Switching from bluetooth then into CD makes me appreciate why we have CD's. The sound quality cannot compare. To me, I feel like it was a waste to purchase this item as I have only used it once and haven't touched it again.

Of every Bluetooth adaptor we have used over the last few years , this unit is the best sound, small size and the easiest to pair. This unit is hands down a winner. It needs to be adapted for 12 volt auto use but that is our specialty. Highly recommended !
Pros: Pairing is simple with no code or button taps needed
Cons: Needs a 12 volt car adaptor included, it was designed for home use but that limits its true potential.
Great customer service and a wonderful recommendation
Works great so far. Only had it a week, but was easy to connect to my receiver and phone bluetooth.
Works as described; good range; using outside with an Onkyo stereo receiver approx. 40 feet from patio area; have used with several devices......ipod Touch, Galaxy phone, Kindle, iphone. No connection issues. Thanks Wes!
Pros: Good range; easy setup;
When I bought the receiver, I could not imagine that I would ever need Bluetooth, so I chose one without. Then, some months later, I decided I did need Bluetooth, so I got online with a Crutchfield adviser and got a recommendation for this device. Easy setup. It works with any unused input in the receiver. This tiny device works as advertised and gave my receiver additional functionality.
Pros: Very easy installation. Small and unobtrusive. Flexible - works with any unused input in the receiver.
Cons: Pricey compared with other products on the market.
Easy set up, works nice
I am over 60 and wanted to use my XM on my old amp in my new shop. This is a great item I can now listen to my XM in the shop off my I pad. Which is hooked up to my internet works great Highly recommend this for those who want to use the good old school products.
Pros: All good so far easy setup
Cons: Wish I did not have to login every time I take the I-pad out and lose connection. Really no big deal but would take one step out from connecting.
HK BTA 10 was easy to set up on my old stereo system but takes a few times to connect to bluetooth. The sound is also not great quality or sometimes very faint so I have to disconnect and reconnect too often. Product works but not very well!
Pros: Easy to set up
Cons: Not good sound and bluetooth connection issues
The product will not sync with my Sony headphones, I have other devices that do. Have checked and rechecked inputs and they are fine.
Cons:Crutchfield response on 6/19/2018 We're sorry you're having issues with your Bluetooth adapter. Whenever you encounter a problem with anything you purchase from Crutchfield, please contact our Tech Support team. They can help you solve the problem or set up a return within 60 days of purchase. Lifetime tech support comes with every Crutchfield purchase.
I bought two of these, one for my Bose system, and the other is for my Denon amplifier, they all work great, just like it's description. I am very happy for what I bought. Also bought from the right company Great Crutchfield.
Easy to setup, good range. Modernizes an old stereo by adding the ability to stream digital music through Bluetooth. Sound quality is excellent!
Dead easy to set up. I am using this primarily in conjunction with a SanDisk SportClip Plus MP3 player while working out. As soon as I initiate a Bluetooth connection from the player to the BTA 10, the reciever comes right on from power save mode and is almost instantly connected to the player. The blue LED that indicates the connection is housed under some sort of diffusing case, so it is not a glaring pin source but rather a soft glow.
Pros: Simple setup, unobtrusive, responsive
This is a great little device. I have an older NAD integrated amp which still runs like a charm. Of course it can't stream music. The BTA 10 was a simple, inexpensive way to add wireless capability to a solid sounding amp. My iPad instantly recognizes the unit and has never dropped, stuttered or otherwise failed to stream properly. Highly recommend.
Pros: Ease of use Reasonable sound quality
I bought this to stream my Spotify account from an old iphone used only for that purpose to my Pioneer surround sound receiver. As other reviewers said - the device needed to be very close to the BTA10 for good reception/transmission. Not a problem since it was used only for that. However, I only have had this unit 13 months and it has already conked out. Just stopped working in mid play and has never worked again. I tried a power reset. Took the app off my phone and reinstalled - it lights up but does nothing else. I only used it about every other weekend - so it is not like I had an enormous amount of hours on it. Truly disappointed at this price point.
Pros: Was easy to hook up
Cons: Had to be close by the sending device and broke way too soon
Excellent product! I put this Bluetooth adapter in my pole barn and it reaches to about 60 feet. Also great shipping and great company.
Pros: Excellent distance Perfect
Cons: None yet
This product actually works but the output is highly distorted in the bass. The sound was so bad I was worried that the speakers (high end Bang and Olfason) were going bad. This guy might be ok to power some computer speakers but I would not trust it for high fidelity.
Cons: awful sound
Size wise is smaller than I expected and its discreet, but best of all it serves its purpose!
Thank you Crutchfield! Your phone rep guided me to exactly the right product, it was easy to install and sounds wonderful. I can now use Bluetooth to play iTunes from my phone through the house speaker system! The easy and quality is fabulous!
This product does everything it was advertised to accomplish. Shipping was very fast.
Pros: Easy to set up.
Cons: A very minor reduction in sound quality.
Product was easy to install and works seamlessly with my Bose 3-2-1 stereo. I used it to stream radio content from my Apple iPad to my Bose for expanded content and better sound of that content. Before making my purchase I consulted with a Crutchfield specialist and the advise given was totally accurate (thank you, Paul). The actual device is very small and can sit right on top of the Bose without issue.
Pros: It works! Little if any distortion so delivers great sound. Easy to install. Very small so almost unnoticeable. Inexpensive.
Easy to use, good sound, but not a whole-house solution and a little buggy
Pros: Very simple setup, cool blue light
Cons: Doesn't easily handoff between devices. Short range, not a good solution for multi-room systems. Hangs and requires occasional power cycling
Works GREAT with my old but favorite Harmon Kardon HK3400 receiver and new ipod touch (6th generation). The two units connected via Bluetooth seamlessly and the music quality from my old but favorite large Sony speakers is awesome. Initially tried connecting the HK BTA 10 into the "phono" audio jacks (there are no "aux" jacks on my receiver) but music quality was poor. Then tried connecting to the "CD" audio jacks on receiver and that worked perfectly.
Pros: Easy install, seamless functioning and excellent quality of music
Cons: May need to try a few audio jacks on receiver to find the one that works best and delivers awesome music quality
This was a great purchase. I wish I would have bought one of these long ago.
Pros: Easy to hook up and use.
Good product. Great service from Crutchfield. I will highly recommend them to anyone who wants top rated products at a decent price coupled with excellent customer service.
it was not hard to hook up it was easy and I was Listening to the sounds Thank you very much .
Works well. Easy to set up. Working with a System76 Ubuntu 16.04 Linux laptop.
Pros: Easy to set up.
Connected to my Yamaha integrated amp. Turned on Bluetooth on my apple iPhone and the connection was made. Super simple even for a non techy. Sounds great. No problems. I love it.
Pros: Easy to use. Sounds great.
I just installed this - it was easy to install, is easy to use, and works perfectly! I wish I had purchased one of these a long time ago! We use this to connect our phones, laptops, and tablets to our Sony stereo. This is great!
Pros: Very easy connection Sounds good Very affordable Easy to use
the best thing I ever parched It works great. Vintage stereo with no remote & now I con control everything from my phone. LOVE IT!
Ease of use and clear sound but some connectivity issues at moderate distances
Easy installation, great sound quality, good range.
Pros: Works great
Great product for my "old school" system merging with new tech. Love It!!
Pros: Compact and easy to set-up
Great sound and easy to use.
Works great, simple to set up and use. It's range a bit limited but I have a solid concrete floors walls ceilings so that may be the reason. But really not a big issue.
Pros: Easy, quick and pretty much idiot proof
Cons: Range is a little less than expected
Product works great. An on and off switch would be nice.
Pros: Works Great
Cons: No on and Off
Some occasional skipping/popping which I have not experienced with other Bluetooth receivers, even at close range. Does not make the unit unusable, but it is an annoyance.
Cons:Crutchfield response on 2/28/2018 We're sorry you're having issues with your Bluetooth adapter. If the problem continues, please just reach out to our Tech Support team. They can help you solve the problem or set up a return within 60 days of purchase. Lifetime tech support comes with every
Love it it was easy to set up
Just hooked one up to the Bose Acoustic Wave in the middle of my warehouse. Getting 50 feet range with no discernible sound degradation. Woo Hoo!
Pros: Better range than expected.
Cons: Might be spending more time at work.
Received in mail and straight to my Yamaha S501 amp I went to hook up. The hook up is easy just decide where you want to hook it LINE 1 etc. I picked the CD. Will be honest in telling you at first I thought it was not going to work. The reason is I was looking for it under Wi-Fi not BLUETOOTH( LOL-embarrassing myself) you want to listen to streaming music this is a must! It sounds great and hooks up fast...if u know where to look! Bah Ha Ha
Pros: Hooks up easy and sound is great! Just what you need to use your AMP etc. to stream music.
Cons: I wish they could have made the wires a little longer for placing purposes.
Unlike everything else I have bought from Crutchfield, this bluetooth adapter from Harmon/Kardon proved to be unsatisfactory twice. The first one I received paired fairly well but the only way to get it to play without stopping and starting over and over was to move my streaming device within three feet of the adapter. Crutchfield quickly replaced the defective unit with another one just like it. However, this one would not pair with my phone or my laptop both of which are by Apple. Now I'm looking for another brand to try. If you try Harmon/Kardon I hope you have better luck than I did.
Cons: One would not pair with iphone or Macbook Pro and the other would only work properly when the streaming device was within three feet. High price, too.
I received the product a few days after ordering. It works great and was very easy to connect. I powered everything up and paired it in seconds and started listening to music.
so this little gizmo does exactly what it says it'll do and that is to stream audio to your audio system. harmon/kardon are to be congratulated on this device. paired easily enough to an older phone and ipad mini which, in turn, is hooked up to an older Cambridge desktop stereo system. tunes come thru sounding great, given what I'm working with, and so far not a single drop. while I'm not in any hurry to drop my cd collection I do appreciated the flexibility this device adds to the workplace soundscape. and should I even be in a generous mood I may allow a coworker to pair with this gizmo. but that's not likely.
Works very well. Great way to add Bluetooth to anything with the proper inputs.
Great product! I plugged it in, connected it to my receiver, set up the WiFi on my iPhone and had access to my complete music library. Fantastic!
I was excited to get it, to turn my HK receiver Bluetooth.........however, I was slightly disappointed....the BTA10 works relatively fine as advertised, if you plan on keeping your phone/iPad/tablet close to it....my max distance is just about 10 ft.....also, the volume is very low, so I have to crank receiver to -17dB to get it at about good listening level.
Pros: - Works as advertised
Cons: - Low Volume - Limited distance
Great and Clear Sound!
Pros: Great quality sound
Cons: Wish distance was a tad longer range. But still great!
This works great. The sound quality is excellent.
Pros: Very easy to set up an connect Sound quality is very good
Cons: None so far
We have a Bose Wave and the Bose Bluetooth adapter stoped working. This is the perfect replacement for half the price, sound quality is perfect.
I had to place my phone directly in front to connect. Not a good connection rom even 5 feet away. I'd be better of with a straight av input from phone to my jukebox.
Cons: Weak connectionCrutchfield response on 1/23/2018 Dave, we're sorry you're having issues with your Bluetooth adapter. This Bluetooth receiver is awesome!!! Worth every dime, music is clear, hooked it to my stereo in garage since it won't get fm radio stations and sick of making cds, just hookup cell phone thru Bluetooth and play my music, going to order another for my other stereo. GOOD BYE CD's!!!!
Pros: Small in size
Cons: Wish I didn't buy it sooner
I have an older but high end stereo system. Until now my listening was limited to CDs and LPs. The Harman Kardon BTA 10 has expanded my listening library to anything on the internet. The fidelity is good and volume is adequate if the phone volume is turned up to the max which allows control through the preamplifier. The set up took 2 minutes and it performs as advertised. It is certainly a welcome addition to what my kids call an antique!
Pros: Very easy set up. Good fidelity.
Cons: None at this point.
Use this Bluetooth adapter to be able to listen to my music list on my Yamaha 1020 receiver. Installation was a snap and my phone was able to recognize the Bluetooth device and hook it up to my phone without a problem. The sound is fabulous and I am more than happy with this purchase and would highly recommend it for anybody who wants to get Bluetooth to an old-type stereo.
I have two very nice sounding older stereo receivers, but they do not have Bluetooth. This device solves that problem. It is very easy to hook up, and I do not notice any loss of sound quality while sending a signal from my iphone. To my ears it sounds better than a hardwire analog connection from my phone to the receiver.
Pros: Saves you from having to get a new receiver with Bluetooth.
Cons: It is so small you will need to take care not to misplace it if you move it around.
Works like a champ! My 11 year old son opened the box and had it installed before I even got home!
Pros: small, well built, easy to install
Works great! It is small and functions like I expected it to.
Pros: small, well built
This is just what I was looking for to enable me to enjoy music on my iPhone while working in my garage. Setup was easy & straightforward. Well worth the price.
Pros: Small size, easy setup
Performs as described. Gives new life to old system. Very pleased.
Pros: Easy setup, nice sound, unobtrusive appearance, and reasonable price.
Good solid product, works as intended to. Happy with the purchase.
Very easy to hook up. Allows me to stream music through my stereo speakers.
Harman Kardon quality all the way. Plug in and go...simple as that. All the cables included to connect the HK BTA 10 to my 1975 Marantz amp.
It is much smaller than I expected, but the size has nothing to do the performance. I connected Harman Kardon BTA 10 to one of audio inputs of Yamaha RX-770 stereo receiver via RAC plugs. With this setup, I can listen to the music on my iPhone through large speakers connected to RX-770. I also connect my MacBook to listen Pandora music. It is working well as expected - very easy to connect to iPhone and MacBook via bluetooth, and the audio quality is fine.
Pros: inexpensive, high quality sound, easy to setup, very small size
Great product! Extremely easy to hook up and paired very quickly with my phone's Bluetooth.
Amazing bluetooth device. Easy to set up. I can hear beautiful sound from my YAMAHA speakers. Awesome pice of device. I love it.
Saved my old receiver by adding Blue tooth. Easy to set up. Sounds great
Pros: Easy to set up. Sounds great
Amazingly easy to setup! Took 15 minutes. A little time to connect amplifier to determine the mode, plugged in dvd. Works perfectly. I was surprised how small the unit is only 1 1/2" x 1 1/2"x 5/8"!
PRODUCT IS SMALL AND EASY TO HOOK UP AND DOES A GREAT JOB
Performs as expected. I have it connected to my Bose Lifestyle system which is not Bluetooth enabled. It streams from my Amazon Echo Dot, phone and iPad very well. It allows me to take full advantage of the Bose sound. Easy to connect and set up. Disconnects easily as well.
Pros: Easy connection and syncs quickly. Great sound.
Cons: None so far
Works as promised - music from my smartphone through analog stereo speakers. Easy to connect, and sounds great.
Just what I needed to connect my mobile devices to my Marantz PM7001Integrated Amplifier.
Pros: Easy to set up, great sounding audio from my phone and tablet!
This little BT receiver is fantastic! I wish I wasn't a cheap person sometimes. I would have saved money by buying this one first. I saw this one a while back when looking for BT receivers to hook up to my system. I didn't want to spend the extra money for it so I bought a cheap one. It was the rechargeable receiver. That lasted just a few weeks and the battery wouldn't charge. I bought a second one. That one wouldn't keep connected. Well here I am 100+ in to BT receivers. I can be on the back porch and I have no reception issues. The range is much better than the battery powered receivers. I'm no audio junkie, but the sound is just as clear as my record player and just as clear as when I had my tablet hook directly to my receiver. It came with all the cables needed and set up was super quick and easy. My setup is pictured below. Marantz 2238B receiver, Marantz 6110 record player, a pair of Marantz Imperial 7 speakers and a pair of Technics SB CR77. All are now pushed by a AudioSource AMP310VS. Absolutely LOVE this bluetooth receiver.
Pros: AC powered not DC Small Clear sound Easy set up Comes with everything you need to hook it up
Works great! Connected it to Bose Lifestyle 28. Can stream audio from my phone and from my computer.
Works as advertised! I am very pleased with this purchase.
No more CD player, No more record player, No more tape player. But my high quality amplifier and speakers remain the same. All music is now copied from my computer to an iPod and blue toothed into the BTA 10. Setup now takes up a lot less room. Sound quality is outstanding and selecting music is much more efficient.
Great item! Easy to pair to my iPad and use with my Bose wave music system. Just what I was looking for. Sound is terrific!!
The Harman Kardon BTA 10 works every time and it was a piece of cake to install, just two connections and sync your phone. I bought the unit for the cycle studio at the gym, everyone is happy. The sound is no different streaming through the BTA as it is hardwire connected. Couldn't be happier. Oh yea, I ordered and had the device the very next day with free shipping. Crutchfield still dispenses the "WOW FACTOR" on a regular basis...
Pros: Great sound, easy connections.
The unit works well, now that I know how to use it correctly. There were no instructions or information as to how the unit should be plugged in or operates. For example, it shuts off after not being used for 10 minutes. When I called to ask for help, I mentioned to the rep on the phone that the lack of FAQs or helpful info was irritating - his response was "yeah, I agree". I have called 2 times to get help on troubleshooting - (I am not someone who knows about stereo stuff anyway) and both times I was helped satisfactorily. The service was good, perhaps they can ask the manufacturer to provide more detail for the "stereo knowledge impaired", like me!
Works Great up to about 25 feet
Works like a charm. It makes an old receiver modern with this gadget. It is worth to own one..........
Pros: Makes old receiver modern.....
I have a couple of older stereo receivers that I've had for a few years that I haven't been using since I upgraded to a new home theatre receiver for tv and movies and they still work great. The problem with them is they don't have newer technology like Bluetooth etc. I wished I could use them in my game room to play music off my iPhone or iPad, but without Bluetooth I couldn't do it. I didn't know about the Bluetooth adapters that we're on the market until I did a search and found out they were available. I ordered the BTA-10 from Crutchfield and it works great and opens up a new way to use my older stereo receivers.
Pros: I can now play my digital music from my iPhone and iPad on my old stereo receiver.
Cons: None so far.
Added to a old sony surround system. Easy to hook up and works great.
Could not be any easier to install and use, works great, no worries! Great price as well and ordering from Crutchfield is always a breeze.
Pros: Useful, cheap solution to connecting home stereo to digital music devices.
Awesome product! I'm now able to play my music from my other devices. Really satisfied with the distance that the Bluetooth provides as well. I'm going to order another one next week.
Pros: Sleek, attractive and provides great distance between the device and your music source. Product is small enough to hide if you don't want it seen.
Cons: Unable to find any.
Love it. No more aux cord!!!
Pros: Easy to setup. Works well
Easy to install. Worked on all mu devices without issue.
Works great. Couldn't be happier! Thanks
Easy set up, sounds great
Works great ??Easy to hook up and pair !
Works great. No set-up involved. Plugged it into an available input on my receiver and started streaming audio from my phone in moments.
Pros: Easy to set up and use to make older receivers Bluetooth enabled.
Cons: No real cons for this equipment, although my phone's battery drains pretty quickly when streaming to my receiver.
Easy set up works like it's supposed to.
Works great. Bought a second one for my office.
Just what I was looking for. Easy setup. My iPhone found device- music! Magic. May purchase anther one for my studio.
Pros: Instructions are all graphic
Delivered as promised. Excellent packaging. Super easy install. Good quality. Works perfectly. Should have bought this thing a long time ago. Would definitely buy again.
Pros: Small Easy install Easy connect Good quality
Works perfect! I have it hooked up to my NAD c326bee and it works perfect! Connects immediately with my iPhone and sounds great!
works Great !!! love it wish I would bought it sooner
Pros: Works Great
Easy to install, small and unintrusive to the eye. Works well
Pros: Small, easy to install, non intrusive style.
Unbelievable. Product blow me away. Took 15 seconds till all the tunes on my phone was coming though the huge old school Kenwood nine G . Would have spent 1000. On new receiver. Hope I get another 20 years out of her. Thank you. Thank you.
Simple to set up and connect. Good frequency response through my Bose system. I highly recommend this product!
Allows me to stream music from my phone through my home system (Onkyo). Works as designed but sound distorts if volume on phone is not turned down to a certain level.
Pros: Easy install
Cons: Sound distorts at some levels
I bought this device to be able to connect my phone to an old home theater receiver. It's very small but works very well. Bluetooth range is great and it comes with the headphone to RCA cable needed. My only complaint is that I wanted to buy another one to use for a set of speakers not connected to the receiver but they would both have the same bluetooth device name so it'd be tough to tell them apart. I wish you could change the device name for this purpose. Other than that, it's a great product.
Pros: -small -includes headphone to RCA cable -strong bluetooth signal (at least in my home)
Cons: -no way to rename the bluetooth device name
Nice compact unit. Very easy to connect. Sound quality is great when computer is streaming. I found fidelity is lacking when phone is sreaming but I think the problem is more with the phone than this device. I have not tested range since range is not an issue.
This works great, connects really fast
Pros: Good reception, fast connection
IT WORKS GREAT, IF I AM ABOUT 10 TO 15 FEET AWAY...IF I GET 20 FEET OR FURTHER IT STARTS CUTTING OUT. IT DOES HAVE TO GO THRU A GLASS DOOR, BUT AS SOON AS I OPEN THE DOOR AND USE THE SCREEN DOOR IT WOULD WORK BETTER. VERY EASY TO SET UP AND USE, ALSO IT CONNECTED WITH NO PROBLEM, JUST NEED MORE RANGE. I AM RETURNING IT AND GOT A NEW ONE, ONE WITH AN ANTENNA ON IT..AND THIS UNIT WORKS FANTASTIC. MY WIFE LOVES IT. LOL
Pros: EASY TO CONNECT AND USE
Cons: SHORT RANGE
Works exactly as described. Enabled me to use my iPhone to play music wirelessly through my older Onkyo receiver. It is inexpensive and small, and works as advertised...no reason not to buy!
first the good news, simple installation, works perfectly, audio quality very good. The bad news, I don't think the range is very good 30 feet is not a long way but within 30 feet it works beautifully, I didn't realize Bluetooth will only support one connection at a time...in other words my wife and I can't access the device at the same time from different iPhones.
Have a vintage Pioneer receiver. Needed to be able to "modernize" with streaming capabilities. Read some negative reviews, but honestly haven't seen any issues at all. Range is good, quality of sound is great and level is same as all other inputs. Don't hesitate to purchase!
Pros: Lower cost than others
plugged unit in, turned on usb transmitter. BT10 functioned as stated. music transmitted to living room from computer in kitchen.
Sound quality is horrendous. I've used and own plenty of Bluetooth devices and this is extremely poor audio quality. Used the included RCA jack on my Onkyo, which cranks out the power to my 15" cerwin vegas and it sounded horrible. To make sure, I then played a cd on the same stereo and it registered a 7.4 on the Richter scale. My only thought is to try a different input otherwise I'm very, very, yes very disappointed.
Pros: It connected my Onkyo receiver with my Bluetooth iPhone.
Cons: The sound quality downright sucked.Crutchfield response on 8/22/2017 Mike, we're sorry you're having issues with your Bluetooth adapter. If the problem continues, please just reach out to our tech support team. They can help you solve the problem or set up a return within 60 days of purchase.
Work just like you said it would , I stream Pamdra from phone to house system and while travailing through boom box works fine.
Pros: easy to work
Works well 18 feet from my laptop. Get a few drop outs (less than one second), maybe one or two an hour, but not sure which equipment is the cause.
Worked great. I attached it to the Aux port on my 2006 Toyota 4runner. The mini USB power input port made it easy to run power to it.
When I can get a link to hold it is great. It often requires unplugging the power to reset it.
Cons:Crutchfield response on 8/7/2017 We're sorry you're having issues with your Bluetooth adapter. If the problem continues, please reach out to our tech support team. They can either help get it working the way it should, or possibly return it for an exchange or refund.
Could not have been easier, wham, bam and you are hooked up. All the pieces you could possibly want or need. Great product!!
Once I figured the correct way to hook to my receiver, the sound quality and range are very impressive. Also a breeze to connect to my iPhone.
Pros: Great sound and range
Cons: Directions are to basic
Just what I was looking for. It should ship with an USB power adapter. I had a mini usb cable and 5v .04a cigarette charger and used it to connect to my car aux port. it makes my music sound really good.
Surprising how simple it was to add blue tooth to my sound bar.
Works perfertly! As easy as plug and play! Really lets me get even more out of my NAD amp. Always receive excellent customer service from Crutchfield? THANK YOU!
This was suggested by a Crutchfield representative. Great suggestion!!!! I bought because I knew the Crutchfield team would help me with the install. That said, I did it without them...its that easy. Maybe more important, is that as always, Crutchfield know their stuff and are very helpful. The product works beautifully!!!
Pros: Easy to set up. Connects well. Does what it is supposed to do
Works good. Price should be less.
Works well with my Yamaha RX-V3300
Harman Kardon BTA 10
Bluetooth receiver works great sound quality is great I use it with my karaoke machine.
Pros: No interference in about 45 feet
Cons: not great through walls
The Harman Kardon BTA 10 worked perfectly. It synced easily with my desktop computer and provided sound thru non blue tooth Harman Kardon Speakers.
Pros: Works well
Cons: sparse instructions.
Just bought this product to replace my HomeSpot Bluetooth receiver because it crackles if I increase volume on Bluetooth (via iPhone or iPad) and it crackles if there is much bass. Well the Harman has the exact same problem. Do not waste your money. Junk product.
Pros: None. No better than much cheaper brands. Sound quality the same at 1/3 the price.
Cons: Crackles BADLY with bass or anything but minimum volume on Bluetooth.Crutchfield response on 7/3/2017 Boyd, whenever you encounter a problem with anything you purchase from Crutchfield, please contact our tech support team right away. They can help you solve the problem or set up a return within 60 days of purchase. Lifetime tech support comes with every Crutchfield purchase.
I needed a wireless Bluetooth receiver that I could use with my older home theatre system. I wanted one that could remain plugged in but would automatically turn on when I wanted to use it and would shut down automatically, after use. The Harmon Kardon BTA 10 filled the bill perfectly. It flashes a blue light when I seek a connection on my IPhone and remains lit when in use. After use, it searches for a new connection and, when not finding it, automatically shuts down and goes black. It exactly filled my need and even has a greater connection range than I thought it would. I highly recommend this product for anyone needing a wireless Bluetooth connector. Also. kudos to the Crutchfield customer representative who understood what I was asking for and went out of his way to call the mfgr. to find out that it operated as I wanted.
Pros: Operates independently Shuts down automatically Great range No need to turn off and on
Cons: None found
Works great! I'm now able to stream to my high end Yamaha receiver and Polk speakers that I bought in the mid 90's. I would highly recommend this unit.
Pros: Small, compact, and cool looking.
Purchased this product so I don't have to keep connecting my iPhone or iPad directly to my stereo system directly every time I want to listen to music. I am a big Harman Kardon fan and use their speakers for my stereo. Easy installation and setup gets it a 5.0 rating but sound quality got worse as I turned up the volume. Disconnected and reconnected multiple devices with same issue. Disconnected and directly connected iPhone and iPad and got great sounding results. Returning this and considering the Audio Engine B1 as a replacement. Sorry HK, but you didn't cut it this time.
Great sound, amazing for Bluetooth.
Works Great !! Quick and easy hookup to my Pioneer SX-850 and we're streaming Pandora etc. !!
Adapter worked but did not perform. Plugged into outlet and received nothing but a 60 cycle tone. Tried various with same results. In addition the resolution of this gadget does not have the resolution to handle a high end component system. Exchanged it for the audioengineB1 .... works like a charm thanks to Garrett! And
Pros: Not suitable for audio nuts as myself!!
works good, easy and fast to connect. Only issue was with two of them in the same house too close together.
Bluetooth your home sound system and/or your system in your workshop???? I am telling you this is the nicest product you can get. The set up is so simple. I plugged it in, linked it to my phone and literally in 2 minutes I had really nice sound. I tried a couple of different units from another company and both went back within two days. I called Buzz and had this unit in a couple of days. I am about to order a separate unit for my wood shop. Even though it's easy to change out, it makes good sense to just do it again. Gary M. Peters Wausau Wisconsin
Cons: There are no cons
It's great. Easy install ... connected quickly to my smart TV turning giving my 10 year old surround sound system receiver a new life. Range is good - my receiver is inside a build in cabinet behind solid wood doors.
Great product. Instead of replacing my high end receiver I installed this to add Bluetooth functionality. Range is very good. My receiver is in a closet in my basement, it operates audio for my first floor kitchen, living room and family room. I added this to my receiver in the basement, put an echo in my kitchen and now I have voice control music through my house. Echo dots Bluetooth was able to find the BTA 10 with no problems. Sound quality is excellent. I am super happy.
Pros: Very easy to hook up.
Cons: None that I can thin of.
Works great and as described. Better than average sound but then again not expecting audiophile quality from Bluetooth.
Pros: Easy to use
Cons: None so far
Easy to set up and use. I connected it to my Yamaha RX-A1000 receiver and has worked great
Pros: Easy to set up and use.
Small works great
Pros: Size , easy set up
Truly a winner , right out of the box , plug in and rock out in less than 2 minutes , yep go from trashing your seemingly obsolete expensive equipment requiring a Bluetooth input or xm/serrius signal and expensive contract ( which we've paid for since inception) to this new , FREE , kick butt streaming beast featuring the velvet sound quality of the old heavy duty equipment , seamlessly transferred with Crystal clear as bell sound quality , and at very surprisingly extremely accurate high /low/ peak saturation levels........blows sometimes spotty satellite signals away..........Bang for the Buck Brother/Sister.......our house is now filled with premium sound generated thru this quality piece of hardware......funny 5k in "old school" audiophile high end equip, and this under a hundred device updates us into the future...buy this now , Harmon Kardon is a very trusted quality name every boomer knows well .......Live Grateful
Low price and works well with my IPhone to access Pandora and googled song selections.
Great name and great product
Pros: Keeps great sound
Cons: Wish a little more range but otherwise happy.
Easy hook up. My son was able to connect and play in less than a minute with his iphone. I can't judge from the quality of his music, but it seems decent.
Pros: Cheapest one out there to connect wirelessly to your Hi-Fi. Gets the work done.
Cons: Non, can't complaint since it is the cheapest one.
Pros: Works great easy hookup
Cons: Have to crank up volume to hear music
Pros: I can now listen to any of my music via Bluetooth great customer service wonderful product
Cons: No cons did exactly what I was hoping
Connects fast and sounds great. Great price and product very easy install.
Pros: Easy install and sounds great
Cons: Little pricey not bad though.
Small gadget easy yo set up. Works well.
Needed something to connect an Echo Dot to my home theater system; works great with older Bose Lifestyle 15. Connects quickly and automatically. I did have to turn up the Bose about 20 levels to have the same sound level a wired connection but it's not a big deal. Quick shipping and well packed. Instructions are mostly terrible but it's so easy to use there isn't really a need for them. I'd buy it again in a heartbeat.
Pros: Small, Easy to use, Great connection quality, runs on AC power
Cons: Wish it had an HDMI output to connect with newer Samsung One Connect
Great product! Easy install and easier to use. I wanted to move my wired Klipsch sound system (speakers and subwoofer) off my desk and still have it connected to my MAC. The HK BTA10 was the perfect answer. Absolutely no degradation in sound quality via the blue tooth connection. I'd buy it again and highly recommend it.
Pros: Easy install and easier to use at a good price
I have a 20 year old Onkyo multi use receiver that works fine but in need of blue tooth connection adapter. The HK BTA 10 brought my old Onkyo with Polk speakers up to date. The sound is fine.Easy quick set up and very small device. Great item for a fair price with helpful Crutchfield phone rep and quick delivery.
Pros: effective connectivity. easy set-up. fair price.
Cons: nothing comes to mind
Did not like the product, the sound quality lacked something
Pros: Connects to the receiver very easy, signal from ipod had good range
Cons: To me it seemed the sound lacked something I had to turn the volume almost all the way up to get any power. I compared the same song using the bluetooth and also with the ipod wired directly to receiver. The sound was not even close the wired was much fuller in sound
Could not have been simpler to use. In fact, there were not even any printed instructions to speak of. Just pictures (drawings) to follow. Plug in the RCA left and right to the available stereo receiver inputs (CD, AUX, etc.) plug the AC adapter into a power source and it comes on. Open the Bluetooth setting on the iPhone and let the phone "discover" the HK BTA 10. This took about 20 seconds or so. Play music! The other great thing is, the unit is so tiny that it was easily hidden behind the receiver in our entertainment rack so the overall look is very clean. Just be sure and turn the volume up on the phone all the way and then adjust the stereo volume to taste. That way you can turn the volume down lower using the phone. Sound quality is very good to my non-audiophile ears. Seems to be equal to the wired-solution I was using before.
Pros: Small unit, easily hidden. Easy set up. Sound quality is very good. Inexpensive. Works with older components.
A good Bluetooth adapter that functions as it claims, right out of the box. It was simple to install, and paired with my bluetooth devices effortlessly.. Now I can play my favorite music using my sound system, powered by my Yamaha Natural Sound RX-V663 receiver. I'm glad I chose this product.
A simple way add bluetooth streaming to an older receiver. Works like a champ.
Pros: Good sound quality. Easy to set up. Easy pairing. Compact.
Cons: Not yet.
The Harmon Kardon BTA 10 is the perfect add on to your older system. You can now play your favorite tunes from your IPhone, IPad or any other Bluetooth enabled device. No need to have to wrestle with your phone's case to plug into the headphone port anymore. That's great for iPhone 7 owners who haven't one! The cost, ease of installation and convenience of use make this product a "no brainer"!
Pros: Reasonably priced and quick to set up and enjoy your favorite music.
Cons: The range is similar to other Bluetooth devices.
It's easy to Install and Connect . Just wish it had a Better Range .. But works Well.
Works great. A breeze to set up.
Easy to set up. Easy to connect to bluetooth. Works as advertised. Great addition to older stereo receiver.
I have been looking for something like this for a long time. This little device has allowed me to finally put that old garage stereo to use. After receiving my package, I was up and going in less than 5 minutes. I think it took me longer to unpackage it, than it did to hook it up and start listening. It seems to have good range and sound quality. However, I just use it in my garage, with my phone 10 feet away on the work bench. I don't need to take my phone and wonder 70 feet away, while still hearing the tunes. I'm totally happy with my purchase, and would highly recommend it.
Pros: Good sound quality. Extremely easy to set up. Fast and simple pairing. Compact.
Cons: None yet.
First time I've bought one of these. Works better than expected and is the fastest hook up for any Bluetooth device I have. I would highly recommend this to use on existing receivers. I intend to get a couple more.
Pros: Easy to hook up. Works great!! Great price.
Excellent Bluetooth analog device to hook up to your speakers or TV.
Simple and easy to enjoy Bluetooth connectivity on stereo receivers that are not equipped with that option, for my application no issues with signal reception used if 30ft room
This is a name brand piece of audio-gear for an entry level price point. I have no complaints, as it is a Bluetooth receiver and there are inherent limitations. This Bluetooth interface device doesn't claim any of of the 'enhancements' that it's colleagues put forth...I appreciate that! I know that if I am streaming music from a iPad, iPhone, or Android device I am not setting myself up for high fidelity audio. Having said that, MY EARS ARE NOT THAT DISCERNING, the audio quality is perfect for the price, and even more suited to my ears. -Wes
Pros: Expected Bluetooth audio performance Reasonable price
Cons: Unit is pretty light, I ended up using zip-ties and adhesive lanyard spots to keep the receiver from moving around. A super cheap fix.
Works like a charm. Easy to set up, comes with headphone cord (two male ends) and one with rca plugs on one end. Good range
Stay away! Has trouble connecting, what a headache. Waste of money and time!!!
Cons: HorribleCrutchfield response on 2/6/2017 We're sorry you're having issues with your adapter. If the problem continues, please just reach back out to our tech support team. They can either help get the adapter working the way it should, or possibly return it for an exchange or refund.
Great product, easy to use and pairs with no trouble
Sounds and works great. But depending on the device you are streaming with , the distance from the BTA matters. My I-pod touch works great at a considerable distace. My laptop has to be very close.
Pros: Brings new life to powerful old amps and recievers.
Cons: Distance will vary depending on the device you are steaming with.
Works great! Simple and convenient way to play apps and even satellite TV through my home stereo wirelessly.
Pros: Easy to install
Cons: Wish it used fiber optic or Coaxial cable for best sound quality and Surround sound capability
Great item! Easy to hook up. This is so great for bringing your 10+ year old home stereo up to modern standards. Such an inexpensive but quality Bluetooth improvement! I heard no loss in sound quality over previous wired hook up. Excellent all around!
Pros: Easy hook up. Great sound quality.
Cons: Range is true to quote. About 30 feet.
This little gizmo was set up and working in less than a minute. The signal is not quite as robust as claimed - any intervening object, including a passing person, can interrupt the transmission between the sending device and the bluetooth receiver, so it's best to set your music streaming source near the receiver if you have a few people moving around in the space. Apart from that, it works very well.
Excellent product. Worked flawlessly right out of the box. Attached to the AUX on my amp. If you need bluetooth connectivity this is the product. Highly recommended., I plan to buy another for my other amp.
Pros: Worked right out of the box perfectly.
This was a gift for my wife...installed on the receiver in about 5 minutes and it synched right away and is performing just as it is supposed to do...great product and very happy!
Pros: easy and fast to install
Cons: none so far
Great way to hookup phones to old equipment.works well, worth the money.
Works like a charm. Simply plug it into your receiver using an unused input (CD2, etc), plug the power cord in, pair with your source device and let the magic begin. I use it with Macintosh MAC 6700 receiver, which now is Bluetooth enabled! Something Mac should have done, but did not. Highly recommend.
Pros: Easy, unobtrusive, effective,.
I have the old-fashioned, high powered receivers/stereo systems in both my house and garage. I have around 1,400 songs downloaded on my phone from my CD collection which I now stream to this BTA 10 through my stereo systems - it works great, now I don't have to use the wired hookups. It is very small and compact as well - barely noticeable. I connected it to the "phono" jack the first time and it didn't sound very good, but after moving it to a different jack on the receiver, it was fine. I would recommend this for anyone that wants to stream music from their phone through their "old" stereo systems!
Pros: wireless streaming, very small unit - barely noticeable, inexpensive
Love it. Works exactly as advertised. Allowed my wife and I to stream music from our phones (individually) to the non-Bluetooth speaker system we have by the pool.
Pros: Allowed Bluetooth music streaming to a non- Bluetooth device
I bought 2 of these for my parents so they could listen to music on their phones on their home theater systems. They were easy to setup and work great. The only issue is I haven't been able to figure out how to connect more than 1 phone to the device. It doesn't seem to want to let a 2nd phone connect.
Exactly what I was looking for, the Harman Kardon BTA 10 was easy to set up and works perfectly.
Pros: Easy set up
Works great. Plug and play. I use it with my Samsung Galaxy S6. syncs right up every time.
Pros: Quick easy set up. rca option. Small
Cons: power adapter makes it challenging to plug into back of the amp.
Easy set up. Works beautifully. There is a lack of richness to the frequency response but I believe that is true of all Bluetooth signals. Small and easy to set up. Glad I got it.
Works as described, the only complaint I have is that the blue light is a little bright at night.
Works as expected with good sound!
Pros: Easy to setup
Easy to setup and use.
This product is great! My husband was so excited to receive its for his birthday!
I have been looking for a product that could connect a bluetooth device to my home stereo through RCA jacks for some time. The folks at Crutchfield and Harmon Kardon did not let me down...as always. It took only a few minutes to set up and connect to my phone and now I can listen to my favorite music or stream music onto my favorite stereo. It literally could not have been any easier. I could even control the stereo from out on the back deck.
Pros: Small and unobtrusive, super simple to connect to analog system and to mate up to wireless devices.
Cons: Haven't found any.
Excellent product. Clear sound.
Pros: Very small and clear sound.
Easy set up. Works well even with phone in my pocket in other rooms. Based on some reviews I was not expecting this. I will be ordering another shortly for my office stereo system. Crutchfield shipping was insanely quick.
Pros: Works well without line of sign. Easy set up.
Cons: None yet
This worked awesome for us. It is so neat! I'm using it with and old Teac receiver that I bought in the 80's and my LG phone. It paired up with no issues. I'm totally satisfied at this point.
Spoke with Bryce a Crutchfield advisor. He provided excellent !! suggestions and guidance on the correct Bluetooth product for my 2 Yamaha receivers. The I purchased 2 HK BTA 10 to play my new iPod which has Bluetooth capabilities. It was a simple straightforward installation but I will provide one tip to a potential buyer, make sure the volume is set on max on your iPod,MP3 or smartphone so that your music flows through the receivers. Happy with my purchase!
Pros: IPod w/Bluetooth does not require a wire connection to play music. Ability to move around the room or home with control of your music library.
Cons: Don't have any at this time. Works as expected.
Work ok. I am disappointed that the range is not better. I have it mounted in plain sight. I wanted to use it with my i-phone but if I carry my phone around the house with me the signal drops in and out. If I set my phone down close to it it works fine.
Pros: When connected it works as expected
Cons: need to mount it in clear sight-mounting inside a cabinet makes it tough to connect signal drops in and out when using with my iPhone.
Does what it supposed to as a Bluetooth
Cons: Needs a clear line of site to work properly.
I originally ordered the Yamaha YBA-11, which, when I received it, proved to be incompatible with my analog receiver. I rang up Crutchfield support, and they recommended the HK BTA 10. And I'm happy I took their recommendation. The price was right, the set-up was simple, and the sound is excellent. It does exactly what I want it to do, and I'm listening to Leonard Bernstein conduct Beethoven's 9th right now. Ahhh.....
Pros: Analog connections, easy set-up, great sound
Cons: Unpredictable range. Sometimes the connection remains strong when I'm streaming the device from across the house, through multiple walls, and sometimes it sputters out when I'm 15 feet away.
I wanted to upgrade my old A/V receiver to get blue tooth broadcasts from my pc, tablet, phone. All worked great. Easy to install and sounds great. I'm playing Pandora right now. I'd recommend this to anyone wanting to update an old but still good system.
Pros: Easy to connect & great sound.
Simple setup, works great. good product for older units w/o blue tooth. Distance is very good, farther than advertised.
Pros: Simple, quick response.
Have only used it with Pandora on my iPhone phone
Cons: does not automatically recognize Harman Bluetooth. I have to go to setting on phone each time
The Harman Bluetooth I purchased works great with my Sony receiver I just turn on the receiver and pair it up with my smart phone and you have music it's that easy and was simple to hook up
Pros: Simple hook up and easy to use
This took about 3 minutes to connect to my 20 year old Sony receiver. Plugged it into the "video" inputs and powered it up. Rebooted my iPhone, then started streaming music from several sources--Pandora, Spotify, RadioTunes--as well as from songs stored on the phone. Also connected it to an older iPod loaded with my entire music collection and started streaming with it as well. BTA 10 only recognizes one source at a time, but no big deal since you can only listen to one source at a time. I will probably purchase a second unit to attach to my home theater system.
Pros: Great way to instantly upgrade good equipment that lacks a Bluetooth connection.
What a great way to allow you to stream whatever you like to your Sonos system
Pros: Simple setup, great range, solid design
Cons: Bluetooth limitations allows only one to one connection so you can't switch to multiple device sources without disconnecting previous device.
The product was easy to set up. I found that the device works best when there is a line of sight between phone and BTA 10. Even someone walking in between the two caused the signal to drop out. Very frustrating.
Pros: Easy to set up and works OK if you are close to the device
Cons: Spotty connectivity
Love this thing! I-phone meet my old stereo.
Worked perfectly right out of the box
Pros: Worked as expected
Simple to install, just works. The only drawback I see is that there isn't some way to adjust the level of the signal going into the output device. Since my stereo receiver doesn't have independent gain adjustment for each source, this means a significant variation in sound level between, say, the FM signal, the Bluetooth device, or a CD player.
Just what we needed after purchasing iPod Touch 6Th Gen. Had an Onkyo device to play iPod classic through our older Onkyo receiver, but that device, because it was 30 pin would not allow playing the touch. Super range and clarity. Highly recommend.
Pros: Easy set-up. Works as expected. Great clarity.
Cons: Yet to find any
Pairs easily; good range; ease of use.
Works good up to about 20 ft. Connection in and out after that
Range is about 20 feet, other than that, the product works as expected. Longer cables would have been helpful.
Turned my Marantz amp into a Bluetooth device!
Pros: Easy set up and it worked with all of my devices!!
Works wonderful and sounds great! Easy to connect.
Pros: Very small, fits anywhere.
Cons: No optical.
I've got 2 of these. Simply put, they work great!
Loving it. Its range is about 30 feet as advertised. We have a loft/family room and kitchen. Main system is in the loft and additional speakers in kitchen. We used the RCA cables that came with it and plugged them into the DAT input in the back of our old SONY receiver and now we are using that sound system again. Sounds awesome! Very pleased with it!
Pros: Makes old stereo receiver into a wireless system that I can now use with my iPod touch.
Had it up and working in 5 minutes. Customer Service is the best around.
Product is well constructed and works perfectly. Would recommend to anyone.
Pros: Easy to use.
Great product and quality
Pros: Easy hook up. Works great
Nice product, didn't bother to read the manual, worked fine with iPhone right away.
Pros: Works out of the box as advertised, no problems. Music quality appropriate for bluetooth standard.
Cons: However, the signal from my iPhone gets crappy if more ~30 ft away (I've had other bluetooth devices with better connectivity).
This is a nice, unobtrusive, and inconspicuous device for getting sound to a reciever. The sound is fine considering the use of Bluetooth. Installation and setup was easy... however I still can't figure out how to link other Bluetooth enabled devices to it. The specs state up to 8 devices, the directions do not expand on this. The HK website doesn't have more detailed instructions. I will have to ask customer support.
Pros: Easy setup and great sound considering compressed wireless transmission
Cons: Difficulty setting up additional devicesCrutchfield response on 11/25/2014 We forwarded this review to our Technical Support team for follow-up. Lifetime tech support comes with every Crutchfield purchase.
Very simple set-up and very good sound
Pros: ease of set-up
This bluetooth adapter works great. Couldn't be happier!
Pros: Easy to set up and use....does everything I needed it for!
The Harman Kardon BTA 10 Bluetooth receiver worked good on three different devices that I hooked it up to with no problems and the audio it sends out sounds great.
Pros: Very Simple to hook up.
Bought for my daughter. Works much better than Air play on tuner. Always works now and I don't have to try and fix air play. Sound is better too
Pros: Easy set up
Cons: No heist mode

AC Power Adapter: The Harman/Kardon BTA10 operates off of standard household current using the supplied external AC power supply (input: 100-240V; output: 5.0V/400mA).

Hi Chris, I purchase an HK Bta-10 and you treat it just as if it were a CD player and hook it up to RCA inputs. Then you Bluetooth phone will seek out making the connection so you can stream music. You control the volume at the stereo or the phone. You may have to go to the Bluetooth connection on your phone after you begin the streaming to initiate the phone to look for the signal from the HK. [ Steven Jul 22, 2018 ]
The Harmon Kardon BTA is made for older units without Bluetooth capabilities. It is extremely easy to hook up. You simply plug in the supplied cords to an unused output on your receiver and plug in a power cord. I actually use on an older Onkyo receiver myself. Definitely worth the money as opposed to buying a new receiver. [ James Jul 22, 2018 ]

I have purchased 2 units and they work extremely well, but inside my home. They are plugged in to standard 110 volt AC electrical outlets. So you would need to have 110 volt AC converter in your car - don't believe the unit works on 12 volt found in most cars. [ MICHAEL W Jul 09, 2018 ]

Yes I'm my case it does because I have it plugged into the back of my stereo receiver which provides power when turned on. Many receivers have that option. I am sure it is always on, similar to a cable tv box, if you plug in the unit directly to a wall receptacle. [ James Apr 30, 2018 ]

Plug the Audio Out cable from the HK BTA10 into the Aux In of your stero or TV. Turn on the Bluetooth mode and connect your devices - you should be good to go. When not needed just turn the Bluetooth off [ VICTOR R Apr 09, 2018 ]
BSmart, I'm not quite sure that I understand your intent with this device, however, I can tell you how I use the HK BTA-10. The device allows my stereo receiver to be controlled (volume, track, playlist, etc) with my smart phone. It connects to my receiver via a red & white RCA type jack into the AUX inputs on the back of the receiver. I would imagine that it could be connected to any of the other unused functions as well. There is also a separate cable and adapter for power. None of the connections for this device connect to the headphone jack in my application. In respect to your speaker question, I don't think that type of application is the intent of this device. Further, your smart-TV most likely is already Bluetooth enabled, allowing you to listen via your favorite headphones with a wireless connection. Hopefully my comments have given you some insight into this product. Good Luck, JD [ JEFF Apr 08, 2018 ]
May mute your speakers with pluged on jack.try it . [ thomas Apr 07, 2018 ]
I use two of these on two different receivers. I'm not aware that these work plugged into a headphone jack. The headphone jack is an output jack, the BTA 10 needs to be plugged into a input jack like the input for a CD player into a receiver. [ Ken Apr 07, 2018 ]

I am not familiar with BSR speakers. I used my BTA on my amp to stream music into the amp and out the speakers. [ JAMES Feb 09, 2018 ]
I have purchased two of these units and have been well served by them. I use them in each location to take a blue tooth audio signal into (separate) stereo receivers. The signal sources in respective locations are a Windows desktop computer (upstairs) and a Macbook Pro laptop downstairs. The unit stands alone but has a power cord with a small transformer, receives AC and operates on DC from the transformer. Cables are provided with the unit. The audio out to the receivers is a ministereo jack at the unit and RCA left and right for the receiver end, probably six feet, perhaps a bit less. In each location, I decided in favor of the HK BTA-10 and against higher fidelity speakers for each computer, reasoning that I had already invested in good speaker quality for each receiver. Upstairs, all computer generated audio is heard through my bookshelf speakers; downstairs, likewise, all audio from the laptop goes through our Polk Audio floor-standing speakers. Do pay attention to the proximity of the device to the blue tooth source (closer is better), and do make sure your source, if a computer, is capable of generating a bluetooth signal. My Macbook came with bluetooth installed, but with the older PC I had to obtain a USB plug in, but both of the HK units work well, and deliver stereo input to the receiver. [ Joe Feb 09, 2018 ]

Not sure what you are specifically asking but think of the harmon kardon as a device which makes a wired system wireless. In other words, you can use a bluetooth device such as a smart phone and play music over a wired device such as an non-Bluetooth amplifier by using the amps RCA jacks. [ Michael Dec 11, 2017 ]
Not speakers. H/K BTA-10 might help your old Onkyo with Bluetooth devices. [ Juan Oct 09, 2017 ]
Not sure of your exact set up but the harmon kardon will work through your old onkyo amp as long as you have rca inputs on the back of it. I then assume this onkyo amp is hooked up to speakers throughout your house which I assumed are connected by wires to the onkyo since you said it was old. This would then allow you to play music via Bluetooth from your phone or like device through the onkyo into the speakers. Hope this answers your question - thanks. [ Michael Oct 09, 2017 ]
I bought this one because it was a good match for my receiver (older Sony). I am not familiar with those that only cost $20 [ JAMES Sep 15, 2017 ]
I don't know if I can answer your question, but I have two of these devices, one for upstairs and one for downstairs, respectively, stereo receivers. Downstairs we connect to a Yamaha receiver I've had for years, getting true stereo for streamed music, radio and video from the (Apple laptop) computer. Upstairs, I equipped a a Windows PC desktop with a $25 blue tooth adapter as that computer did not otherwise send a bluetooth signal, again using the HK blue tooth to take a stereo signal into a Panasonic receiver. Both the HK units have worked well, and as long as you are not pushing them to the end of their range of distance from the blue tooth signal source (not more than thirty feet), the HK units do just fine. I don't know if less expensive units from other makers were available when I purchased (about six months apart), but the units have worked without a hitch and the sound quality is very good to excellent. [ Joe Sep 11, 2017 ]

I have no idea if this will work. I plugged it into my Stereo System in my home and stream music from my phone throughout my home. I thought the echo already did that though... [ Pete Jul 18, 2017 ]
My HK BTA receives wireless signals from a Bluetooth device and sends the signals out via cable to an "audio in" jack of my audio system, which sends them out the "audio out" jack through wires to speakers. HK BTA does not appear capable of changing a signal from a projector "audio out" jack into a wireless transmission to the Echo, which is what your application requires. Maybe Crutchfield has something for that. [ mary Jul 17, 2017 ]
That scenario sounds like it would be opposite use of this product, it is designed to give you a Bluetooth input for non equipped stereos, you need a Bluetooth transmitter, this is a receiver. [ ROCCO`S AUTO Jul 17, 2017 ]
I am not certain how you are setting this up but you will need an audio in jack for the BTA 10 to connect and act as the Bluetooth for the non-Bluetooth unit. So if the echo doesn't have the audio in connection the BTA 10 is not going to work. [ Michael Jul 17, 2017 ]

Theresa, I have not used this B/T device with headphones. I can tell you it works well with our Ipad streaming music well over 20 feet. I am very pleased with the performance. [ JAMES Feb 07, 2017 ]
I have had good success with the BTA 10, which I use to play music and internet streaming radio from my ipad into my bedroom receiver/speakers. The distance is probably just about 20 feet from ipad to the BTA 10, possibly a couple of feet less, and the volume level is compatible, although perhaps just a tad less than, what I get with the same receiver volume set when I play the receiver's radio or a cd player. I also have lots of "headroom" to increase the receiver's volume setting, but for my purposes, so far, haven't yet needed to do that. Only quirk I've noticed is that when I back up the ipad, I have to re-pair the BTA 10 with the ipad, and on two occasions, I've had to unplug and replug in the BTA to enable the pairing to occur. Other than that quirk, I've been well satisfied with the unit, and just ordered a second one for my downstairs receiver/speakers, so I can play music and stream radio and online video to the downstairs speakers from a dedicated mac laptop, allowing me to dispense with a wire connection from the laptop to the auxiliary input on the receiver. I hope that is helpful to your decision making. [ Joe Feb 06, 2017 ]
It depends on the head phones, I would buy a wireless expander to help in the house. [ BLAINE Feb 06, 2017 ]
I have not had that problem with this device. Note that it can only connect with one device at a time. And the range is not as strong as some of my other devices. But it works well within 20 feet or so. [ Scott Jan 16, 2017 ]
Yes I believe it will, but you can always go into your phone settings and tell it to forget the BTA 10. That should keep it from trying to connect until you tell it to. [ Dan Jan 16, 2017 ]

So i don't forsee any problems with connecting the tv source to your headphones via this bluetooth adapter. i believe the hk bta 10 also comes with the correct wires for a connection between the actually device and your tv but you may want to make sure in case you need to order a different set of cables. This device uses Bluetooth. You will be able to send audio from your Macbook to to the A/V receiver with this using the built in Bluetooth on the computer. If you prefer to add AirPlay, then your best bet may be to get an AppleTV. This would allow you to quickly and easily add AirPlay to your existing system. You can find out more about the AppleTV here: http://www.crutchfield.com/p_472APPLTV/Apple-TV.html [ Jeff Aug 31, 2015 ] Staff
this works well without AirPlay. It has it's own Bluetooth address and works well with both Apple and Android devices. I play it thru my six input on Rotel equipment and sound is great! [ LAWRENCE Aug 30, 2015 ]
AskAllblue tooth connectivity has a range of ten meters our 30 feet. [ Tem Dec 26, 2017 ]
I am not aware of a booster associated with this product. I have connectivity to at least 30 feet. The product requires a separate power source and will stay on when the receiver is off. [ ROBERT W. Nov 06, 2014 ]
I forwarded your question to an Advisor and they responded with the following: This won't work to send out a signal to wireless speakers. This is meant to turn an older receiver (with RCA inputs) in to a bluetooth capable device so you can stream audio to it from your tablet or smart phone. If you would like to discuss further you can contact an Advisor directly by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat. [ Krissy Jul 07, 2014 ] Staff
