This is a great little addition to a very good product. The optical output simplifies the entire install process by eliminating the need for RCA's. One optical cable does it all, not to mention a pure clean signal, zero background noise {a good thing especially if using a DSP}. If you are building a quality system you can't go wrong getting this addition.

Pros: Eliminates the need for bulky RCA's from the head unit. Clean Accurate sound.

Cons: Haven't found any.

Customer Q&A

Crutchfield asked: Why did you buy this?
wanted optical to my DSP [ Jeffrey  Aug 26, 2019 ]
For my TOS link cable, of course! [ The Engineer  May 02, 2019 ]
Because I have a JL Audio VXi amp with optical inputs. Many of the reviews on Amazon also imply that the analog RCA inputs introduce unwanted noise, that the optical output does not. . [ DAVID  Sep 16, 2018 ]
the factory system sounds poor so just hoping the digital signal is reasonably clean [ New User  Nov 11, 2017 ]
I have a Helix DSP with optical in. This will simplify installation by only running one cable. [ Timothy  Aug 12, 2017 ]

3 questions already asked

How come the stereo shops don't sell you this from the get-go? they keep telling me I have a weak signal and I need to put a new deck in. I have already bought a bigger amp and it still hasn't fixed the problem. Now they're telling me I need to put in new door speakers in with a 4 channel amp. Sounds like they're really sticking it to me.

Will I still need to have a line out converter. Wanting to add 4 channel amp. And also mono amp replacing all factory speaker and sub?
[ Chris  Dec 20, 2017 ]
