Jon Paul
If you're planning to upgrade your Chrysler, Dodge, or Jeep vehicle's DVD video "infotainment" system, this "plug and play" cable will make the task a whole lot easier.

If you're planning to upgrade your Chrysler, Dodge, or Jeep vehicle's DVD video "infotainment" system, this "plug and play" cable will make the task a whole lot easier.

PAC's CHYRVD cable sends an audio/video signal output from your factory radio to an aftermarket monitor. You can also use it with a PAC C2R-CHY4 or RP4-CH11 interface module if you want to replace your factory radio while retaining your vehicle's factory rear seat entertainment system. If your vehicle is equipped with a factory rear-view camera, this cable will transmit those images.

Please enter your vehicle information or call an Advisor at 1-888-955-6000 to find out if this adapter is compatible with your vehicle. Warranty: 1 year.

Product Research

Features

PAC CHYRVD: The PAC CHYRVD adapter cable provides an audio/video signal output from a Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep factory radio to an aftermarket monitor. The PAC CHYRVD adapter cable can also be used with the PAC C2R-CHY4 or RP4-CH11 interface (both sold separately) to replace a Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep factory radio with an aftermarket head unit, and still retain the factory VES monitor, IR system, and back-up camera. In addition, the PAC CHYRVD adapter cable can be used in conjunction with the PAC RP4-CH11 interface (sold separately) to retain factory Rear System Entertainment (RSE).

Adding Aftermarket Head Unit to Factory Entertainment System: The CHYRVD adapter cable routes the A/V outputs of the Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep factory VES DVD player (if present) to your aftermarket head unit or feeds video to the OEM Rear Seat Entertainment (RSE) LCD from the aftermarket head unit. If your vehicle is equipped with a factory rear-view camera, this adapter will also  transmit those images. This installation requires the use of the PAC C2R-CHY4 or RP4-CH11 interface (sold separately). Your Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep vehicle must be equipped with a factory overhead LCD and IR system, in which the DVD player was either part of the in-dash factory radio or a separate stand alone unit.

  • Vehicles Equipped w/ Factory Stand Alone DVD Player & Rear Monitor: Your aftermarket head unit must be equipped with A/V input for vehicles equipped with a stand alone factory VES DVD player. Simply connect the cables labeled "Audio/Video output from DVD Player" on the CHYRVD to an A/V input on the aftermarket head unit. The cables labeled "Audio Video output to Overhead LCD" will not be used in this application as A/V cannot be fed from the aftermarket head unit to the RSE (A/V from the OEM VES DVD will still pass to the RSE).
  • Vehicles Equipped w/ Factory Rear Monitor only (no Stand Alone DVD player): Your aftermarket head unit must be equipped with an A/V output for vehicles not equipped with a stand alone VES DVD player (rear screen only). In this case, connect the A/V outputs of the aftermarket head unit to the cables labeled "Audio/Video input to Overhead LCD" of the CHYRVD. If you wish to use the rear panel A/V inputs of your aftermarket head unit, you must disconnect the factory wires from them, then connect and run your own RCAs into the aftermarket head unit's A/V input.

Adding Aftermarket Monitors to Factory Entertainment System: The CHYRVD adapter cable allows aftermarket monitors and IR headphones to be connected to the factory entertainment system of select Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep vehicles. Your Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep vehicle must be equipped with a stand-alone factory VES DVD player. The CHYRVD cable is connected behind the factory head unit. Connect the cables labeled "Audio/Video output from DVD Player" on the CHYRVD to the aftermarket monitor video input. If installing aftermarket IR headphones, connect the Red and White RCAs to the audio input of the aftermarket IR headphones. The cables labeled "Audio/Video output to Overhead LCD" will not be used in this application.

Vehicle Compatibility: The PAC CHYRVD adapter cable is compatible with the following 2008-2013 Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep vehicles (as of 6/29/2017).

Q
I ordered the Metra AX-ADBOX1 to use with a Sony XAV-AX5000 in a 2014 Caravan R/T. Can use the PAC CHYRVD in addition to the Metra unit?

Yes you should be able to use that PAC harness in addition to your existing Axxess wiring harness to retain your rear seat entertainment system in that Grand Caravan.

Had it installed elsewhere. Dodge ram 2010 laramie. Converted to alpine and kept steering when control and all origin features.

Q
What should I use if I want to play video from my new head unit to the stock dvd screen, bypassing the stock dvd player? Is there a harness to do the opposite of this?

We are not always able to retain a rear seat entertainment system and then not always able to send video through factory wiring from the new receiver to the monitors for that entertainment system. I'd recommend calling an advisor on 1-800-324-9695 to discuss your vehicle and see what can be done to integrate video out from a receiver into it. Hi Jeffrey, Tried every harness that crutchfield suggested. Unfortunately the tech guys didn't know the answer to the exact same question you and myself had. They even sent me a free harness to try out but still had no dvd to the stock rear screen from aftermarket head unit. There has to be a way to get video to the stock rear screen from an aftermarket head unit....So far, haven't been able to get any more info from Crutchfield.

Q
Harness has two multi-wire connectors; male and female to each other. Manual illustrates one connector with no reference to second connector. I think a single connector is used; which one depends on whether customer is replacing head unit or adding a monitor. The remaining connector would not be used. Please advise?
