For a clean installation

PAC gives you six feet of cable so you can route it through even the trickiest of dashes. The cable's female USB end provides a flush-mount design for permanent installation — simply drill a hole into the spot where you'd like to connect your USB devices, and snap in the end of the cable for a factory look. If you'd rather not drill a hole, just snap that end of the cable into the included mounting bracket, then place the bracket in a good place for quick access to your USB devices. Warranty: 1 year.

  • Fully compatible with Apple CarPlay & Android Auto, but should not be used in conjunction with another USB extension cable if you are planning to use CarPlay or Android Auto.

Q
Is this PAC USBDMA6 USB cable shielded?
[ Joseph  Nov 10, 2021 ]

A
HI, I don't think that it was. It is attached to my Pioneer radio. I am using it without any issues.

Hi, I would assume it is shielded but I'm not 100% sure. The tech guys at Crutchfield are top notch and I'm sure they can give you a definitive answer.

Q
Is this compatible with Android Auto ??
[ BRUCE  Oct 15, 2018 ]
1 answer
A
Yes, in fact it was recommended to me by Crutchfield along with my Sony Android Auto-equipped head unit. I too, recommend it for the following reasons: Unlike a USB extension where the plug-in outlet dangles or moves around, this offers a more permanent, built-in appearance. The included mount is generally used for an under-dash or stand-alone installation. I didn't use it however. I drilled a hole in the plastic area in the console under the heater controls (Chevy Suburban) and the plug snapped in. Looks like factory. My Android conveniently plugs in to the port (necessary to run Android Auto) and it sits in the center console 'bin', out of the way. The gauge of the cord more than meets the requirements of the head unit for data transmission and proper communication between the head unit and the Android. This is also compatible with Apple CarPlay and works well when an iPhone is plugged into a CarPlay-equipped head unit.

Q
Will this fit in a hole where a cigarette lighter is removed with out any extra hardware?
[ Carl  Aug 24, 2018 ]
2 answers
A
That one is too small for the cigarette lighter hole. I also ordered accelerated USBRHDMI cable and it fit the Cigarette lighter hole perfectly after all of the lighter casing is removed. $ 29.99. It is a USB/HDMI with separate connectors into the back of the radio. The Crutchfield item number is 074USBHDMI Hope this helps!

I installed mine on a 2007 tundra and while it holds static, it'll pop out when I pull on the usb charging cable. Nothing a little super glue can't fix, but mine didn't hold on it's own.

Q
Why doesn't this work with the xav-ax100 (android auto)? Does this not support usb 2.0 or is it just for power?
[ Cliff  Dec 27, 2017 ]
1 answer
A
First I use Apple play and it works fine, looking at the sony site, they give full support on this device to Android Auto, the only help I can give is to have you check this web site: OK, I can not link to other sites but try to google support androidauto answer This web site is "Set up your Android Auto app" it should have the details you need Mike
