Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I have a number of music systems at home and one of them powers 4 pairs of in-ceiling speakers located throughout the house. All but one set of these speaker pairs have individual wall mounted volume controls Installing a wall mounted control for this set would have been very difficult and would require some extensive and costly rework in our house. I researched two similar products that I found on the net via Google but had difficulty getting information on availability and vendors. This is where the Russound TBL-75 and Crutchfield saved the day. Normally I would have had it shipped to Canada however my neighbour was in Arizona so it was sent to him and he brought it back for me. Ordering from Crutchfield was easy and the customer service rep was extremely helpful. Thank you Crutchfield.

Pros: The black unit is compact, has a quality look and blends very nicely with the other audio and video equipment on the rack. The installation was very simple, it works well and does exactly what it is advertised to do. I haven't used head phones for many years however having the built in access point is an added bonus that I will probably consider using in the future.

Cons: None at this time.

Does what it is supposed to do

Old Mosquito Man from North Brunswick, NJ on 1/31/2012

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

There really isn't much to say. The Russound TBL-75 sits quietly doing its job of reducing sound levels. For people who have stereo amplifiers with provision for A and B speakers but no volume control for the rear speakers and who want to use those speakers as front and rear speakers in the same room, the Russound is a handy piece of equipment, particularly if your listening position is closer to the rear speakers. The sound level can be adjusted so there is a harmonious whole without being made unpleasantly aware of the rear speakers.

Pros: Easy to set up; does its job

Cons: None that I could hear.

When  using the TBL-75 in installations with more than one pair of speakers or additional volume controls, the TBL-75 has a rear panel impedance selector switch to be set at 1x, 2x, 4x, or 8x. This is a basic stereo volume control; it does not provide multi-zone capability. If you want the ability to play different sources in different locations at the same time, you'll need separate channels of amplification for each zone.
