The ferrofluid silk dome tweeter evokes bright, shining high notes, and can be surface-, flush-, or wedge-mounted for optimum imaging. An optical protection circuit helps to prevent dangerous power levels from damaging your tweeter. An output level switch (0 dB/-3 dB) gives you greater control of the upper frequencies.

The titanium-plated, injection-molded poly cone is lightweight for quick response and durability, while the thermal plastic rubber surround won't deteriorate in inclement conditions. A 2-way crossover provides perfect blending for seamless transitions betwen drivers. 1-year warranty.

Woofer Cone Material: The woofer cones are constructed of titanium-plated injection-molded polypropylene. This process of cone molding assures a uniform cone thickness for superior linearity and clarity. Titanium adds strength and heat resistance to polypropylene, resulting in reduced distortion and improved reliability.

Surrounds: Each woofer is made with a Thermal Plastic Rubber surround that withstands the extremes of the automotive environment.

Voice Coils: The 1" multi-layered copper voice coils are made to be durable and handle high power.


Tweeter Dome Material: Each 3/4" dome tweeter is made with a silk dome that offers smooth high frequency response.

Ferrofluid Cooling: A synthetic fluid is placed in the magnetic gap of the tweeter to aid in the cooling of the voice coil. This results in higher power handling and greater reliability.

Tweeter Mounting Options: The tweeters may be flush, surface or "wedge" mounted. The tweeters swivel inside the flush and surface mount sockets, but they do not swivel in the "wedge mount" sockets. The "wedge mount" sockets surface mount to the vehicle and hold the tweeters at a fixed angle; the sockets may be mounted to provide a 15 or 60 degree angle. The tweeters must be installed using one of the three sockets.

2-Way Butterworth Crossovers: The crossovers feature an 18dB/octave, 4kHz high-pass network for the tweeters and a 6dB/octave, 4kHz low-pass network for the woofers. The steeper slope of the high-pass network allows the tweeters to handle greater power, while the low-pass network provides for a seamless transition between the tweeter and woofer.

Optical Compression Tweeter Protection: This built-in protection circuit includes an incandescent bulb (visible through the clear crossover cover) that limits power to the tweeter when the "danger" threshold is exceeded. Because the circuit simply limits power and doesn't shut the tweeter off, this method of protection is inaudible.

Tweeter Output Level: There is a jumper pad located on the crossover circuit board that allows you to select full output level (0dB) or attenuated (-3dB) tweeter operation. This feature allows you to match the tweeter output level with the woofer output level for a balanced response. Typically, when the tweeter and woofer are mounted so they are approximately the same distance from your ears, the jumper is left in the 0dB position. When the tweeter's location is much closer to the your ears than the woofer's location, the jumper should be set to the -3dB position.

Input/Output Connections: The crossover inputs and outputs are gold-plated screw terminals.

Mounting Tabs: There are two mounting holes in the base of each crossover.

Specifications Note: The manual lists separate sensitivity specs for the woofer (88.5dB) and tweeter (93dB). The sensitivity figure listed in the Crutchfield database is the average of the two individual sensitivity specifications. The average sensitivity (90.75dB) is given because it more accurately represents the overall sensitivity of the system; this permits a better estimation of the power needed for clean, high volume output.
