Give your ride some Punch

Rockford Fosgate showcases their fanatical commitment to sonic excellence in the Punch Series of speakers, amps, and subs. If you like to listen to potent, powerful music — and feel it too — Punch components will give you impressive sound that'll stand out in a crowd.

Rockford Fosgate designed the Punch P132 3-1/2" speakers as a high-grade replacement for your factory speakers. Each speaker features a responsive polypropylene cone and butyl rubber surround that'll stand up to hours of high-volume jams. Rockford Fosgate uses a new technique to attach the surround to the cone that yields up to 25% more cone area, for fuller sound and stronger performance. The dome tweeters provide clear, extended highs that can hold their own at high volume.

Note: The oversized terminals on these speakers won't connect to a Crutchfield wiring harness. A free 10-pack of female quick slides that you can splice onto our harness will be included with your speaker purchase.

Grilles are not included; the factory grilles should be suitable for most applications.

Surprisingly rich sound from such a small speaker! Replaced a pair of blown kicker 3 1/2 coaxial speakers with these Rockford Fosgate punches and immediately noticed a much richer/fuller sound. These RFs produce a very smooth and not too harsh high frequency response with a surprisingly good low frequency response for such a small speaker.

Pros: Good quality sound at reasonable price

Cons: Not quite a perfect fit for the cutouts in my dash and had to do a little finessing to get them to seat correctly.

Very good sound. Had to alter the factory grills a little bit on my 2016 Cherokee but it honestly looks great. They sound better than the kickers I had originally put in it though so it was worth cutting small holes for the tweeters to stick up. Very happy with them.

Pros: Well worth the price.

Cons: None.

I replaced the stock 3.5 in the center of fords sync 7 speaker package on a 2015 f150. The speaker adds more depth and upper frequencies then the stock 3" paper woofer in the center. The speaker doesn't produce much bass (it is a 3.5 speaker you can't expect it to) but is incredible how it can produce a large sound from running on Fords sync head unit (non Sony or B&O). I would recommend this for replacing a center speaker or rear sports car deck/back speakers. The only downside is on an f150 it does pop the grill off the center speaker since it sits up about half an inch too high for the OEM opening.

Pros: Great mid bass, and upper freq range

Cons: Height of the tweeter.

Nice speakers. But they do NOT fit the 2008 Jeep Commander dash corners (Boston Acoustics package). The profile is too high we ended up drilling a hole in the grill. Also (surprise!) the speaker doesn't fit perfectly in the dash so it sits slightly tilted, so drilling a hole directly center of the grill was problematic and required even more treaking to get everything to fit. And Crutchfield sent the correct connectors (nice!) but they had the wrong size speaker side terminals (boo!), so I still had to buy the correct size and resplice. Much more work than I was anticipating but it worked out in the end.

Big improvement over factory Bose drivers

Bryan from Bellevue, WA on 6/29/2018

Verified employee purchase (What's this?)

See pros and cons. Overall, I would recommend these speakers.

Pros: Much better HF extension over factory speakers. Created a much better sound state up front.

Cons: They are listed as fitting my 07 C6 Corvette. Only kinda sorta. The tweeter pole piece pushes up on the dash grill, which is visually noticeable Slight bump. Speaker mounts are not symmetrical so in the doors, it forced me to rotate them which required lengthening the speaker wires. Add a half hour or so to the job.

2017 Jeep Renegade

Verified customer (What's this?)
Verified employee purchase (What's this?)

Put these in the dash corners of a 2017 Jeep Renegade. I had the JBL Club 3020 in there, but was not happy with how they sounded. Grabbed these Punch speakers, put one of each in the front, and switched between the channels to compare. The Rockfords sounded much fuller and more lifelike. The JBLs were a bit thin sounding. I don't have any bass blockers on there, and haven't noticed any issues, but I haven't had all the windows down and the radio up yet. The JBLs did fit perfectly, while these hit the speaker grates. However, the grates haven't been buzzing, so I'm going to leave them in. Overall, I'm very happy with these speakers, especially at the price. I also have the Punch series in my other car, and should have just went that route in the first place.

Pros: Well-rounded, natural, accurate sound

Cons: Bigger than some other 3.5 speakers. Might be a tough fit for some vehicles. Plugs don't fit standard Jeep/Chrysler speaker harness, so you have to clip and use included slides (which was really easy to do)

I love the P132. Fit perfectly in my 2012 Audi A6. Replaced a center dash factory bose speaker that was buzzing. Installed and could immediately tell a difference. That one speaker brought new life to my car. Treble and bass on point! Sounds so much better. Thinking about replacing all the speakers now.

Very clear little speaker that could

Michael from Chattanooga, TN on 5/14/2017

Verified employee purchase (What's this?)

I bought these to replace the dash speakers in a 2016 Toyota Camry. I started out running them in parallel with RF Prime 6x9 in doors WITHOUT a cap (hi-pass filter) on my PPI i640.5 amp (80wpc @ 2ohm in front channel). I was surprised that the little RF 3.5" could run that much power full-range, but I'm not a head banger and know when an amp is clipping or a tiny 3.5" woofer bottoming....lol. So I added a capacitor. It lost some warmth (lower mid), but still sounded very good. I was also surprised at the quality of the sound, especially the highs. Not being silk, I was expecting a little harshness from the PEI dome, but, to me, it wasn't harsh at all. If anything maybe a bit more pronounced at the higher frequencies as I was picking up slightly more detail on certain things. I wouldn't call the RF P132 warm sounding either. I would say they are 'clear' sounding. I'm about to likely buy another pair and see if I can get them into my Tacoma dash (not recommended, but oh well)!

Pros: Powerhandling, clarity, versatility, slightly lower efficiency works best in dash IMO.

Cons: None I can think of

Features

Injection-Molded Polypropylene Woofers: The woofer cones are mineral filled, injection-molded polypropylene. This molding process assures a uniform cone thickness for superior linearity and clarity. It is also light weight and rigid for decreased distortion and improved bass response.

Butyl Rubber Surrounds: The butyl rubber surrounds dampen unwanted harmonic distortion while maintaining linear geometry under extreme weather conditions. This leads to less distortion, superior frequency response, and superior durability.

VAST Surround: The Vertical Attach Surround Technique (VAST) increases a speaker's effective radiating cone area without increasing the size of the basket.

Tweeters: Each speaker features a 3/4" PEI (Poly-Ether-Imide) dome; PEI is a polymer film that produces a wide soundstage for superior imaging.

Speaker Terminals: These speakers have 0.25" positive (+) terminals and 0.187" negative (-) terminals, which are too large for the vehicle-specific speaker harnesses supplied by Crutchfield for many vehicle applications. It is recommended that a pack of assorted female quick slides (item number 120FQS10PK) be purchased and spliced to the harnesses to adapt them to the speaker terminals.

Q
Why won't this fit my 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee? It uses 3.5" speakers and looks like all the other speakers listed that do fit.
[ iMoses14  May 20, 2019 ]

A
Each speaker has its own mounting depth. Just because a speaker is the same size doesn't mean it's the same depth. While this speaker may fit in size it may be too deep for your application.

I tried replacing the dash tweeters with these as well but they did not fit. I needed to do some plastic cutting for them to fit. I recommend you go with the Rockford Fosgate Punch P1T-S instead to replace the tweeters.

Looking into Rockford Fosgate P132 to replace the dash tweeters of 2015 Jeep Wrangler. Other 3 1/2 will fit what is the fitment issue with The RF P132, and can it be adapted?
[ Doug  Feb 07, 2019 ]
1 answer
A
There are two issues that are preventing these from fitting your Jeep. The first is the cutout diameter in the Jeep is not big enough, but can be made bigger if you cut away material to make that diameter bigger. The second issue is that these are too tall to fit behind the stock grille but if you don't use those grilles, then that won't be an issue either. My Bio: https://www.crutchfield.com/bio/Paul

[ bill  Sep 26, 2018 ]

A
They are not a recommended fit in the center dash location of your 2013 Flex. We found the magnet diameter to be too wide and the mounting height to be too tall for the available factory mounting space.

Q
Is there 3 speakers I need to replace in the dashboard of my 2008 Dodge Ram Laramie 1500 Quadcab without navigation? And if so do they come in a set of 3?
[ Hardo  May 01, 2014 ]
1 answer
A
I forwarded your question to an Advisor and they responded with the following: For your 2008 Dodge Ram 1500 Pickup Quad Cab with 7 speakers you do have 3 speakers in the dash. This speaker is in the middle of the dash and is used as center fill. We do not offer an aftermarket speaker that would be a direct replacement for it, so in this case I'd recommend leaving it and just replacing the other two dash speakers with the Kicker 40CS354 which would be a direct fit. These speakers are very efficient and they'll sound great even off a stock head unit. If you would like to discuss further you can contact an Advisor directly by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat.
