Features

Overview: The Rockford Fosgate Punch P300-10 is an all-in-one bass solution featuring a 10" woofer and a built-in 300 watt RMS amplifier in an enclosure made from 5/8" MDF .

Closed-Loop Design: The closed-loop designed ensures optimum performance of the woofer, amplifier, and enclosure system.

Integrated Amplifier: The 10" woofer is powered by a built-in amplifier rated at 300 watts RMS/600 watts peak.

Quick Disconnect Power/Ground: The power, ground, and remote turn-on wires attach to a quick disconnect terminal block, so the subwoofer can be easily removed when you need more storage space. Each terminal is a set screw, the power and ground will accept up to 4 gauge wire (minimum 8 gauge recommend) and the remote turn-on will accept up to 8 gauge wire.

Audio Inputs: The amplifier section will accept either a line level (RCA) or speaker level signal. The included 10" input harness has a Molex plug on one end and female stereo RCA jacks on the other. When using a speaker level input, cut the RCA jacks off and splice into the remaining wires. Adjust the Input Level switch to match your input type (Hi/Lo).

Auto Turn-On: The Auto Turn-On switch offers three options:

  • REM: the amp turns on when +12 volts DC is applied to the remote terminal
  • DC Offset: the amp turns on when a 6 volt surge is detected on the signal inputs (from a speaker level source)
  • Audio: the amp turns on when an incoming audio signal is detected (can be used with line level or speaker level inputs)

Gain control: The rotary gain control allows you to match the output level of your headunit to the input level of the powered subwoofer (100mV-3V).

Crossover: The 12 db/oct low-pass crossover is always engaged; the crossover point is adjustable from 50 to 200 Hz.

Bass Boost: Use the rotary dial to adjust the bass boost; continuously variable from 0 to +12 dB, centered at 45 Hz.

Phase: A switch allows you to reverse the phase of the subwoofer (0°, 180°).

Protection Circuit: The P300-10 is equipped with thermal overload, over voltage, and short circuit protection. The amplifier will shut down if any of these situations is encountered.

Punch Level Control: A wired Punch Level Control is included so you can adjust the output level from the driver's seat. The remote has a bracket to mount it under the dash. The included 17-1/2' cable, with a 3.5mm mini-plug on each end, connects the remote to the subwoofer.

Note: The Punch Level Control measures approximately 2-3/8" wide x 1" high x 2" deep (3-1/2" deep including the knob and cable).

Dimensions: The dimensions listed in Features and Specs include the subwoofer's grille, and the power and signal wiring harnesses, which add approximately 7/8 of an inch and 5/8 an inch respectively. The measurements of just the enclosure are approximately 8-3/4 inches deep at the base, 6-1/8 inches at the top, and 18 inches wide.

The size and punch this seems to offer was a major selling point. I have the infinty basslink in another one of my vehicles and while the punch is good the built in amp is not. Q
Is this subwoofer pretty loud? And is it loud enough for me to still feel the bass if I have an Xterra?
[ Colby  Aug 16, 2019 ]
2 answers
A
Loud is subjective, but yes it gets loud. I have a Borla exhaust on my car so I have to turn the sub up pretty high to feel the bass. Overall a pretty decent sub for the money.
[ William  Aug 17, 2019 ]
A
I does well for me but I have it sitting in the back seat of a 2 door car. I don't know about "feeling the bass" in an xterra
[ JAMES B  Aug 17, 2019 ]
Q
Do I need to connect the remote turn on wire that comes with the sub or can I just use the audio and DC switch settings for sub turn on?
[ Bryan.H  Mar 21, 2019 ]
1 answer
A
It needs the audio turn on wire like normal. It's jist an amp built into the box. It really sounds good.
[ ROBERT  Mar 21, 2019 ]
Q
Will this fit under the rear seat of 2016 F-150 Supercrew?
[ david  Jan 28, 2019 ]
2 answers
A
i dont believe so because of the seat mounts would not provide enough space and this speaker has all the components (self driven) in it it would not do well being laid flat. it has enough boom to be secured in the upright position in the back seats and sound great but under laying flat probably not a good idea.
[ CRAIG H  Jan 29, 2019 ]
A
Wish I could tell you, but if it does you will not be disappointed. The bass volume knob really helps control this beast.
[ sami  Jan 29, 2019 ]
Q
Has anyone tried to put one in the underfloor cargo space in '06-'12 rav4?
[ Matthew  Oct 30, 2018 ]
1 answer
A
We have measurements of that cargo space which shows it has a 8" depth (18" tall and 335" wide) but this powered subwoofer needs 9.75" of depth at its most deepest part. I don't expect it will fit. We have other powered subwoofers that can fit the cargo area. I recommend calling an advisor on 1-800-324-9695 to get a personal recommendation on one that can fit and meets your goals. This will absolutely fit in your mustang...this speaker is a really good buy. It produces some good bass...you will not be disappointed!
[ ERIK WADE  Jul 04, 2018 ]
A
Yes it will. It fits in my 2012 Camaro trunk with room to spare
[ Devin  Jul 04, 2018 ]
A
I installed this in my 2016 Honda Accord sedan. It fits great and barely takes much room at all. This will absolutely fit in your mustarg because the amp is internal, meaning that if you are worried about it standing upright, then you can just sit it flat instead. Bought this sub and never looked back.
[ Christopher  Jul 04, 2018 ]
Q
I'm buying this subwoofer but i'm not sure on wich one to go for the 10 inch or 12 inch can someone tell me the differences on the 10 or 12 and what size would you recomend?
[ Mikemike  Jun 25, 2018 ]
3 answers
A
It depends on how loud you want to be for example I had a 95 S-10 extended cab and I purchased the 10 and it pleased me it packed a nice punch however if you want to go loud I suggest the 12 I hope this helps.
[ Nathan  Jun 29, 2018 ]
A
Sooty-I returned this item and did something differs.
[ Cary  Jun 25, 2018 ]
A
It all boils down to room and desired effect. I for one have it installed in a Mercedes C300. That limited me to only have the 10" one and Im very happy with its performance. I keep my sub volume control at about 1/3 and it sounds perfect. They are very efficient, deliver great bass, are well constucted and looks great with a clean install. Just the fact you are looking at this particular powered sub I know you would be happy either way.

Q
I have a 2018 Chevy Cruze with the 6 speaker configuration. What do I need to do to install this to the factory reciever?
[ Benwill7  Jun 24, 2018 ]
1 answer
A
You should most likely splice into the factory speakers that are located in the rear. That's what I had to do on my vehicle, because replacing the head unti wasn't an option.

Q
Will this sub fit in a 1994 f150 regular cab?
[ Truck guy  Jun 12, 2018 ]
1 answer
A
The Rockford Punch P300-10 measures 18-11/16"W x 13-3/8"H x 9-3/4"D1 x 6-1/8"D2 making it difficult to fit in a regular cab truck. For more details or to discuss further, please contact an Advisor directly by phone (888.955.6000) or online chat. Thanks!

Q
I have a newer car with a touchscreen. Could I install this box without messing with the factory system?
[ BigDB  Apr 07, 2018 ]
3 answers
A
Yes. You will have to tap into the speaker wires to get the signal what I used was wire taps that clamp to the wire without cutting anything and running a power cable to power it and ground it properly the speaker has a feature that when it sends the signal it will remotely turn it on
[ HUMBERTO  Apr 07, 2018 ]
A
You need to provide more information. If your factory-installed system has a subwoofer connection then you will not need to replace it. However you will still need to install the subwoofer somewhere (usually the trunk) and run the power and signal cables back there. You will likely need to remove the factory system or at least some paneling around it to connect the subwoofer audio cable to it and also to run the cable out of sight. I would search online for "(make, model, year of vehicle) installing subwoofer factory system" to see results specific to your situation. Crutchfield phone support is also very helpful.
[ Matt  Apr 07, 2018 ]
A
Yes, it can be hooked to just the speaker wire. Probably not the same performance as direct imput but definitely better than stockEnter
[ Earl  Apr 07, 2018 ]
Q
If I already have a Subaru factory sub and would like to swap it out with this one, will I have to change the wiring much?
[ Samuel  Feb 12, 2018 ]
1 answer
A
You will need to run a new power wire for the amp in this powered subwoofer. But you might be able to reuse some of the stock wiring that fed signal to the stock subwoofer to get the audio to send to the amp in this powered subwoofer. I recommend calling an advisor on 1-800-324-9695 for a personal recommendation on the gear you need My Bio: http://www.crutchfield.com/Support/Bio.aspx?bio=101

What rating should the inline fuse be 20 or 30? The manual says 30, but the inboard fuses are (2) 10 amp fuses.
[ Alfonso  Jan 03, 2018 ]

A
I did a 30 amp fuse. It usually is practice to run a little higher inline fuse than the equipment needs.

I'm afraid we don't have any info on the woofer model included in Rockford's P300-10 powered sub. You will want to contact Rockford Fosgate's support directly for more information--you can reach them by phone at 800-669-9899 or check out their support site here: http://rftech.custhelp.com/

Q
Will this work with a non JBL 2010 Tundra stock everything?
[ Teddy  Feb 19, 2017 ]
1 answer
A
It seems like it would, there are speaker level inputs you could tap into the rear speaker leads to get the signal, adjust the fader and tone controls and crossover on the sun and dial in a nice balance. Replacing the front speakers with some nice aftermarkets would probably make that a really nice sounding system. Of course another small amp on those would be even better..

So I'm thinking of going with a P300-10 because I don't think I can fit a P300-12 under the seat. And I'm considering going with 2 units. Because I can fit them side by side I know sub frequencies aren't directional but I still like knowing I've got a left and right channel when I go with 2 subs. Is there a way to wire a powered sub like there as one being only a right channel and a second as only a left channel?

A
Grab one of the performance audio battery's from Crutchfield. Mount it somewhere easily accessible within 3 feet yet hidden if it matters to you (you'll want the wiring to be hidden by trim or floor lining). Grab 2 of the wiring kits which are like 50 each but they come with almost everything you need for each sub and directions on how to put everything together easily. You may need a radio receiver with 2 sub rca inputs. Not really experienced but went off of myour basic knowledge

Will this send more power to the other speakers in my vehicle? If so, how?
[ pat  Jan 07, 2017 ]

A
No this is a self powered subwoofer there are no speaker outputs. You will need a separate power amp or run your speakers off the head unit.
[ Brady  Jan 08, 2017 ]
A
no this is has a built in amp for its own power, I have the same sub its great. good sound and quality. in my car I had to use a separate amp to power my other speakers. hope this helps you out and crutchfield has great tech support they helped me build a system that works well
[ Shane  Jan 08, 2017 ]
A
No, it only powers the sub. Its not a stand alone amp.
[ MIKE  Jan 07, 2017 ]
A
Sorry hit submit before I was finished. It depends on how your head unit works. I have mine set so alll bass only goes to sub and regular speakers only receive the treble

Q
Will this sub fit under the backseat of a 2013 f150 crew cab?
[ Chris  Aug 28, 2016 ]
1 answer
A
No. We only found 6" of clearance under the rear seats of the 2013 Ford SuperCrew cab and the dimensions of the Rockford Fosgate P300-10 are: 18-11/16"W x 13-3/8"H x 9-3/4"D1 x 6-1/8"D2 So, even if you laid it flat on it's back, you would need about 10" of clearance under the seat for it to fit. You may want to consider their compact powered model instead: http://www.crutchfield.com/p_575PS8/item.html It's only 3 3/8" thick and should fit under most factory seats as a result. I hope that helps! My Bio: http://www.crutchfield.com/Support/Bio.aspx?bio=5

When removing the box/amp for trunk space, would I need to disconnect the battery before removing the harnesses to prevent damage?

[ peter  Jun 29, 2016 ]

You can. Or just wrap it in a no-conductive material just for safety. If it's going to be out for a long period than you should disconnect the battery.
[ Carl  Jun 29, 2016 ]
A
No just unplug from sub when car and Sub is off

I'm sure it would it's not very big. It does work really well for its size. Good sound
[ Brady  Apr 19, 2016 ]
A
I would think that it would since it fits in the trunk of my BMW 330 convertible...just take measurements, the most important being the height, in this case 13 3/8 in. It was the only one that would work for me with the specs...you may have more options though.

Q
is it possible to physically mount the sub so it doesn't move around in the trunk?
[ Brad  Apr 10, 2016 ]

A
Yes, I used Velcro tape to secure it in place but maintain flexibility if I need to move or remove it.
[ Timothy  Apr 14, 2016 ]
A
Yes, use double sided velcro straps. They have worked well in my trunk. Does not move around at all. Had to screw the velcro strap into trunk board, but not the sub.

Yes for my install i dyna matted the spare tire hole in a 99 jeep WJ and. All i had to use was Velcro sticky tape and it hasn't moved since the install and this is in a rock crawler so that should say something !!! Hope this. Helps in some way.

No, it isn't necessary. The RF has high level inputs that allow you to access the input from your speaker leads. Both the base Pioneer radio and the Nav radio in your Scion will work; however, be sure to get the input from the woofers in your car.

No you can keep the stock head unit, although I'd suggest swapping it. If you want to keep the stock head unit you will have to buy a line out converter and tap into the speaker lines.

NO, just have to run power to your battery and one lead to any speaker. Pretty simple installation. Directions that co.e with it will tell you everything you have to do. Pretty good base to. Not overpowering.

I have had no problems with over heating, and whenever I listen to rap I turn the gain all the way up for maximum base. The unit is working hard and zero problems. I installed this in the very back of my Subaru Forester. Make sure you install proper size power cable, instructions state the size required for the power draw. I believe my power cable was about 12' long and 4 Gauge

IVe had mine since Christmas 2014. Never had any issues. I used some pretty heavy Guage wire for power and ground that I had lying around. It's in a 2012 Challenger and beats pretty good for what it is.

Q
I am currently running an old Eclipse 55040 head unit and the sound that this produces is absolutely amazing! The highs are sparkling. The clarity and transparency of the mids are the best I've heard from any head unit. It's just the bass is a little lacking in my system. Is the bass that comes from this sub more of a booming bass? Or would you say it is more of a tight, punching bass?
[ dsw1204  Jan 24, 2015 ]
2 answers
A
I would have to say it depends on how you set it. I like booming bass so I have it set on the lower side but when my friend helped me install them(I have two) he set them to a higher tight bass that I wasn't to fond of so I switched it
[ MARK J  Jan 27, 2015 ]
A
This is a sealed enclosure, so the sound will tend to fall more on the tight and accurate side. It is a great way to add some low end punch into your system.

Where do the RCA cable hook up in to from my head unit? I dont see any inputs?
[ Ron  May 18, 2014 ]
3 answers
A
There is a little adapter for the RCA cables. On the Sub there is a four wire plug, the adapter plugs in there.
[ Korey  May 19, 2014 ]
A
There's a converter they plug into that plugs into the speaker.
[ Chopt  May 19, 2014 ]
A
If you don't have RCA's on your head unit you'll need line convertiers. That will allow you to convert your +- spleaker wireto RCA conections. You should be able to tap into the rear speaker wire to get the signal to the sub woofer.
