The sound and punch of this sub is so clean. And for 230, what you aren't getting is truly worth it. Installation with the built in amp was very easy. Took me about 2 hours and it was the first time I had ever done any sort of work on it.

Pros: Clean sound Compact Punches Built in sub Easy installation

Cons:

Very good sub for the price.... with one small and curable flaw

Really good sub for the money. Delivers very nice bass to the clear tone from the rest of the system. Only issue I have is with the provided connector that came with the unit, as the plastic separated on the 3 port connector, which exposes the metal of the connector to anything it can come in contact with, which could cause a direct short and blown fuse. I have glued the connector together so it will not separate as I had occur during removal from the subwoofer. It has not happened again.

Pros: Clear bass and with good volume. Small fit. Good price.

Cons: Bad power connector that can come apart and expose bare metal of 12VDC connector.

Love my sub!

I was searching for a nice powered sub, something that not only has to be easy on the budget, but also has to sound good and fit under the rear seat of my 2014 Silverado Crew Cab. After a lengthy search process, I decided to go with the Rockford Fosgate P300-10T. Wow! This little sub rocks! And fits perfectly under the rear seat of my truck. If you are looking for shake your neighbor bass, then look elsewhere. If you are looking for very good bass to complement your factory stereo, then look no further. Sub delivers rich, low bass and sounds oh so good! Also, love the bass knob! This allows me to adjust the bass level on the fly based on the music input. All in all I give this sub a 9.5 out of 10. My only gripe (if you call it that) is that I wish the level indicator on the bass knob was lit, so that I can see the level at night. Other than that, I'm super happy and highly recommend this sub!

Pros: - Fit & finish - Sound - Knob - Price

Cons: - Wish bass knob was lighted for nightime

I bought this to fit in a small space in the back of my E350 camper van in hopes that it would have enough 'punch'. While at around town speeds it sounded great. At highway speeds the deep end was all but lost. NOW, if you had a more sensible size car this thing would be sweet! Small, easy to adjust/tune, powerful, punchy. With that, I just swapped it out for the 500watt 12" ported. WOW what a difference! The extra $100 was money well spent. It gives all the bass and more for my needs. I also like having some headroom with the remote gain adjuster. Super satisfied now.

Pros: Easy set up. The hardest part was finding a place to fish the power cable from the battery. Ultimately used the steering column rubber grommet. I spent more time trying to figure out how to route it than actually routing it. Then it took a week to fine tune the sub to my likings.

Cons: This particular sub wasn't powerful enough for my large full size Ford E350. However, the 12" 500watt ported IS!!

2005 Subaru Impreza 2.5 RS

Verified customer (What's this?)
Verified employee purchase (What's this?)

This sub is seriously impressive. I have been around some serious car audio my whole life so I know what I'm talking about. For 230 dollars it's a perfect sub/amp combo to add some extra boom boom in your vehicle. I have a 2005 Subaru Impreza hatch that I have this and another 4 channel amp powering all the door speakers. My friends can't believe it when I show them what it is that makes my car shake. For an all in one unit, it can't be beat. I purchased a Rockville 10" all in one on amazon and I had to return it. It was horrible! All of the reviews about it were saying how great it was. WOW ! I swear they were paid reviews. It was that bad. Spend the extra 100 and get this one!! You won't be dissatisfied. Worst case scenario is you sent it back to Crutchfield. Problem solved. Excellent product!

Pros: Ez on/off plug for power/ground/remote wire. It's super handy if you need extra trunk space and you need to disconnect it quick. Simple and easy

Cons: None

Amazing sound

Nick from Niagara falls, NY on 5/1/2019

Verified employee purchase (What's this?)

Installed this speaker in my 2016 f150 super crew behind the seat, after a little triming of carpet and foam and removing the grill to make it fit properly this little sub kicks hard! Iv always been into bass but no room for 2 12" subs and 2000watt amps and not wanting to lose my floor space with under seat box i pulled trigger and purchased this after trying the kicker pt250 and not being happy. When i say it hits it hits when tuned right on on stock stereo. Would recommend anyone with minimal space or a pick up to purchase this sub. And crutchfield delivered fast with excellent quality and trustworthy

Pros: Quality build Excellent sound

Product Research

Features

Overview: The Rockford Fosgate Punch P300-10T is an all-in-one bass solution featuring a 10" woofer and a built-in 300 watt RMS amplifier in an enclosure made from 5/8" MDF. Its slim form is designed to easily fit behind seats in pickup trucks, while taking up as little usable space as possible.

Integrated Amplifier: The 10" woofer is powered by a built-in Class-D amplifier rated at 300 watts RMS/600 watts peak. The closed-loop designed ensures optimum performance of the woofer, amplifier, and enclosure system.

Quick Disconnect Power/Ground: The power, ground, and remote turn-on wires attach to a quick disconnect terminal block, so the subwoofer can be easily removed when you need more storage space. Each terminal is a set screw, with the power and ground accepting up to 4 gauge wire (minimum 8 gauge recommended) and the remote turn-on will accept up to 8 gauge wire.

Audio Inputs: The amplifier section will accept either a line level (RCA) or speaker level signal. The included 12" input harness has a Molex plug on one end and female stereo RCA jacks on the other. When using a speaker level input, the RCA jacks get cut off and spliced into the factory wires.

Input Switch: The Input Switch is set based on the incoming signal type:

  • Low-Level: Used when connecting and RCA level signal into the amp. Range is from 150mV to 6V.
  • High-Level: Used when connecting the subwoofer using a speaker-level input signal. Range is from 400mV to 12V.

Auto Turn-On: The Auto Turn-On switch offers three options:

  • REM: the amp turns on when +12 volts DC is applied to the remote terminal
  • DC Offset: the amp turns on when a 6 volt surge is detected on the signal inputs (from a speaker level source)
  • Audio: the amp turns on when an incoming audio signal is detected (can be used with line level or speaker level inputs)

Gain Control: The rotary gain control allows you to match the output level of your headunit to the input level of the powered subwoofer.

Crossover: The 12 db/oct low-pass crossover is always engaged; the crossover point is adjustable from 50 to 200 Hz.

Bass Boost: Use the rotary dial to adjust the bass boost; continuously variable from 0 to +12 dB, centered at 45 Hz.

Phase: A switch allows you to reverse the phase of the subwoofer (0°, 180°).

Protection Circuit: The P300-10T is equipped with thermal overload, over voltage, and short circuit protection. The amplifier will shut down if any of these situations is encountered.

Punch Level Control: A wired Punch Level Control is included so you can adjust the output level from the driver's seat. The remote has a bracket to mount it under the dash. The included 16-1/2' cable, with a 3.5mm stereo mini-plug on each end, connects the remote to the subwoofer. Note: The Punch Level Control measures approximately 2-3/8" wide x 1" high x 2" deep (3-1/2" deep including the knob and cable).

Dimensions: The dimensions listed in Features and Specs include the subwoofer's grille, and the power and signal wiring harnesses, which add approximately 1.0" and 1.5" respectively. The depth of just the enclosure is 7.563" at the base and 4.750" inches at the top. The width without wiring is 21.813".

Yes you can

A
Yes you can, the terminations go into one end. You'll just need to look at how the wires will dress into the unit. Dependent on the tilt direction you want, you may need to run the wires across the width of the unit. It will work well, we are very happy with ours. We found less cargo space loss, putting it upright, on an oversized aluminum plate, velcro "hook" keeps it in place just fine.

Q
I'm going to take signal from current attachment at rear deck sub. Do I then attach those two sub wires to +L and +R at the RF input jack or just - and +R RF input? 2016 Lexus ES 350 non ML stereo.
[ David  Jun 13, 2019 ]
2 answers
A
I spoke to a tech at Rockford. I can connect the two wires from the OEM deck subwoofer to either the left input+ and - or the right side + and - input on the powered sub from Rockford. It will work fine even if I leave the OEM sub connected too.
[ David  Jun 13, 2019 ]
A
The sub is designed to take a STEREO input utilizing signal from both the L and R inputs. One option would be to parallel the L+ & R+ and connect it to one of the subs wires, then lake the L- & R- and connect it to the remaining wire going to the sub. Another option would be to connect the L +/- to the left rear speaker(not sub) and the R +/- to right rear speaker. This may be more desirable as the sub will usually have its own amplification with some boost or other equalization applied that may make tuning your new sub more difficult.
