Features

Enclosure: The Rockford Fosgate Prime R1-2X10 is a sealed enclosure constructed of 5/8" MDF (Medium Density Fiberboard). The enclosure is covered with high density black carpeting. The sealed enclosure features high current compression terminals on the left side of the box (when facing the woofer). The terminals will accommodate up to 12 AWG speaker wire and present a 2Ω load to your amplifier.

Dimensions:

  • Width: 30-1/8"
  • Height: 12-1/8"
  • Depth (base): 12-1/8" (12-7/8" including the subwoofer)
  • Depth (top): 7-1/8" (7-7/8" including the subwoofer)

Woofer: The R1-2X10 enclosure is loaded with two Rockford Fosgate Prime R1S4-10 subwoofers. Each R1S4-10 is a 10-inch, 4Ω-ohm single voice coil subwoofer with a fiber reinforced painted paper-pulp cone and compressed foam surround. The two subs are wired in parallel inside the box, to present a 2Ω load.

CEA-2031 Compliant: Power handling on the Rockford Fosgate Prime R1S4-10 subwoofer conforms to CEA-2031 industry standards. This means the subwoofer has the capacity to handle its rated power under continuous demand, not instantaneous power handling, that over time, can damage voice coils.

Q
Has anyone had any issues with the subs being wired backwards in the Box?
[ Cookbear26  Dec 31, 2018 ]
3 answers
A
The subs should be wired internally to a 2 ohm impedance. If you are having troubles with the amp going into protect, distorted sound, or anything else our tech support would be your best resource. If you purchased the sub from Crutchfield they are available 7 days a week to help troubleshoot. If for some reason the sub was wired incorrectly from the manufacturer we are authorized Rockford Fosgate dealers and can help you replace it through warranty. Either way you can contact us here: https://bit.ly/2QNxGQB --Cosmo

"Wired backwards" isn't clear about the problem. Do you think the polarity is backwards? Do you think they are wired series instead of parallel? There is no problem with mine.
[ Bushman  Jan 07, 2019 ]
A
I have the same setup. I haven't opened it up yet to check this but I'm having a issue with the amp going into protect.

Q
Will this box fit behind the seat of a standard cab truck?
[ Craig  Sep 25, 2018 ]
5 answers
A
Not quite sure. I do not believe it will because the box is too deep. I would purchase a correct box and shallow mount subs.
[ Brock  Sep 26, 2018 ]
A
This depends on the free space behind the seat. I believe different truck manufacturers have different space dimensions. I suggest using a tape measure to find out this free space, then reading the R1-2X10 spec sheet to see if it will fit in. Only you can tell.
[ Michael  Sep 26, 2018 ]
A
I would say no, unless you are really short. I was looking to put mine in a 2015 Chevrolet 4-door truck, under the back seat, but it is way too big. Check the box dimensions in the specs section for the exact measurements.
[ Marty  Sep 26, 2018 ]
A
It should nice and thin. .there are no screens on it though
[ FRANK  Sep 26, 2018 ]
A
You will need to measure the space behind your seat. The densions of the box are 30-1/8"W x 12-3/16"H x 12-1/8"D
[ Kyle  Sep 25, 2018 ]

What would be a good amp to go with this sub box? I was looking at the RF R250X1D and the R500X1D, but I'm open to any suggestions.

Thanks for your question. For information on selecting the best amp for your subs I would recommend reaching out to an Advisor by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat. They will be able to help determine the differences between the amp models and help you make the best choice for your system.
