Long time needed speakers fianally installed

Not having rear speakers in my truck for years has gotten old, but getting these things installed was a bit of a pain, but the sound is incredible ! Compared to "no sound" - that's not quite a fair comparison, but I love the music !
Pros: Great sound in a small package
Cons: They weren't the same size as my original speakers - but an adapter was provided to make them fit into the opening. Thanks.

1994 Toyota Pickup
Speakers did not fit. I had to modify the mounting holes which was no big deal. The dremel fixed the issue. When I went to hook up the speaker wires, one of the tabs was broken. I was still able to hook the wires up though. After hearing the sound of the first speaker, I took it out and put the old speakers back in. I will be returning this item.

Website recomends this sizes for my car but I could fit a 5.25" easily with little modifications if I would know I would go for the bigger size. The sound is clearer than OEM but not louder. I used this for. 17 Civic Si.

Weak Bass but Good High

I installed 4 of these speakers in hopes of at least duplicating what the original speakers offered. The bass response is almost nonexistent. After further review, I discovered that the low end frequency response is only 100HZ on these. These do better on the high frequency and paired with a subwoofer or lower frequency speakers. I plan to replace then with speakers having a wider frequency range.
Pros: Good high frequency response and nice grilles and installation hardware included.
Cons: Weak Bass response at only 100HZ

They sound good for the price point. I was hoping for a little more volume out of them but it may be that I am not giving them enough power. I am using a cheaper head unit that is 15w RMS per channel to push them.
Pros: They fit under the grill for the factory speaker location easily. Vocals come through clear.
Cons: I wish they had a little more volume at my given power level.

These were retrofitted into a 2002 Lexus SC430 rear quarter panel locations. The original speakers suffered the notorious speaker rot. These easily fit into the factory mounting bracket. Factory harness connectors retained from old speakers. Excellent replacement!

I'm really impressed with these speakers. I've always run components, but I had a space constraint for the rear speakers in my most recent system. I settled on these, and they are really phenomenal for the price. I'm running way more power than recommended, and they haven't missed a beat.

I bought these to replace the rear speakers in my son's 1999 Isuzu Rodeo. For the size of the speakers, they are pretty good. They can handle the power from the stereo without distorting and sound decent. Don't expect to be blown away as they have virtually no bass, but if you are replacing factory speakers, you will be happy.

What can I say? Rockford Fosgate doesn't miss their mark when it comes to speakers. I've had Rockford Fosgate's in every car I've ever owned. Hands down the best around, and at this price nobody can beat, or come close to them! The R14x2's sound great, and they have a little bass, more than I was expecting out of such a small pair of speakers like these ones. I'll be replacing my rear deck speakers soon with some 6x9 Fosgates as well!

2006 Dodge Sprinter
I put these in my 2006 Dodge Sprinter. Both the wife and I found the sound unacceptable, no bass. The mid and high were fine with great definition. They would be great for listening to audio books. It is possible that the location of the speakers negatively affects the sound in that they are on the dash and all sound is reflected off the windshield. Crutchfield accepted my return even though I had to trim the frame to install. I currently have some Bose speakers that sound kinda muddy and look "janky" so I'll probably go with the Polk next. That will determine if the location, direction and small size are too compromising and a satisfactory sound is too much to hope for.

The speakers sound great. The only issue I had was with installation, and it very well could have been my fault. Broke 2 of the speaker terminals trying to use the wiring harness supplied by Crutchfield. The thinner terminal was the one that broke in both cases, and so I had to solder them on.
Pros: Good quality for price. They fit my vehicle as stated.
Cons: Quality of speaker terminals poor, they should not break very easily on installation.

Ordered several pairs of these over the years for different cars. With one pair, however, each speaker went bad after only a few weeks. When I removed the speaker, which was a real pain, I noticed that the coil wire was disconnected. I was able to resolder it and reinstall. A few weeks later, the second speaker failed for the same reason. They were being run off a JVC aftermarket head unit, no external amps. 1975 MG MGB
These small 4" speakers worked out perfectly for what I was looking for. They replaced some original speakers in my 1975 MGB Roadster. They had to be very shallow as the doors are very thin. Because I was paring them with a 1975 AM/FM radio in an open-air car, I didn't want to spend a lot of money. They sound great in the car. The included Grills look great compared to the Grills that they replaced.

Big improvement over cheap OEM speakers. My car only has a pair of door speakers in it so I wanted a nice quality speaker to replace the old cheap paper junk that came in the car. The quality of the sound out of these RF's is great. I would guess you'd have to spend 2-3x's more on a speaker to be able to get any noticeable improvement over these. Added a small powered 8" kicker sub to the rear hatch to handle mid's and low's and it was a great combo.
Pros: excellent sound quality, excellent power handling, build quality looks to be very solid and durable

Got one speaker installed just fine and it works. However, one of the speakers arrived with so much solder on one of the terminals, the spade connector wouldn't fit over it. Filed down some of the solder and loosened the spade terminal up a little bit, but the tab broke off when trying to slide the spade connector over the terminal on the speaker and ripped the wiring off as well...

The 4" rockford Fosgate R14X2 speakers i bought work great and just like it was advertised for my 93 sc400 i did have to make minor adjustments to get the speakers to fit correctly. Overall great experience, quick to receive the package and installed in minutes with little to no difficulties.
Pros: Fits behind the factory door panel without the supplied cover. Sounds great with the factory amplified system. Factory door harness will work with the speaker but you probably could change one of the connectors for a better fit.
Cons: Screw holes didn't not quite line up with factory mounts too good. You could still use the factory holes if you wanna wedge the screws around but it's almost easier to just start new holes to screw into.
