Rockford Fosgate RM110D2 reviews
More details on the Rockford Fosgate RM110D2
Woofer: The subwoofer features an injection-molded, mineral filled polypropylene cone with UV inhibitors. The Santoprene rubber surround is also UV and salt/fog resistant.
Klippel Verified: The Klippel distortion analyzer, a device that uses a laser and sophisticated software to do large-scale analysis of drivers in motion, lets Rockford Fosgate optimize the sub's motor structure, voice coil alignment, and suspension to yield the best possible performance.
Dual 2Ω Voice Coils: The dual 2Ω voice coils offer wiring flexibility; when wired in parallel the woofer presents a 1Ω load, when wired in series the woofer presents a 4Ω load.
Terminals: The RM110D2B features two pair of spring post terminals which accommodate pin connectors, single banana plugs, or bare speaker wire up to 12-gauge.
VAST Surround: The Vertical Attach Surround Technique (VAST) increases a speaker's effective radiating cone area without increasing the size of the basket.
FlexFit Basket: The Flex Fit frame utilizes slots (where possible) instead of single screw sized holes; allowing slight adjustment of the speaker when mounted.
Mounting Hardware: Marine-grade stainless-steel mounting screws are included.
Enclosure: The RM110D2B can be mounted in a sealed or ported box, or in an infinite-baffle (free-air) application. The optimum internal volume of a sealed enclosure is 1.1 ft³ (accounting for the displacement of the woofer); from 0.85 to 1.35 ft³ is acceptable. The 1.1 ft³ enclosure yields a -3dB point of 58.4 Hz. The best ported enclosure volume is 1.35 ft³ using one 3" diameter x 9.5" long port; this yields a tuning frequency of 40 Hz and a -3dB point of 39 Hz.
