Need to replace the mount for my Pioneer mic for my AVH-X3600. This mount looks the same as the one I have and much cheaper than getting a replacement from Pioneer ($42.00!!!) [ LADD  Jun 12, 2016 ]

    Q
will it work with a sony MEX-N4200BT?

While it has the industry-standard 3.5mm male audio mini-connector and your deck seems to have a corresponding mic input with all documentation indicating support for external mic functionality, said documentation states exclusive support for Sony's own XA-MC10 mic; likewise the Sony mic explicitly supports your deck among a select few other Sony models. This may just be false, self-serving pseudo-proprietarity by Sony, could be an exclusive digital interface, or could fall anywhere along a spectrum between the two. Regardless, the specified microphone is relatively inexpensive especially weighed against the time and/or money required to replace an incompatible unit.
