About the SIRIUS FM Modulator Relay
Your Starbase, Starmate, or Sportster radio features a wireless FM transmitter that plays SIRIUS satellite radio over your in-dash stereo. If you live in an urban area with high FM-station density, interference from neighboring or weak FM stations can often creep in. This relay device makes a direct, wired connection from your SIRIUS radio to your vehicle's stereo, shielding the system from intrusion by over-the-air FM stations. You get nothing but clean SIRIUS playback.
The relay plugs into your SIRIUS radio's dedicated FM output. At the other end, it plugs into your stereo's antenna input. Your stereo's antenna plugs into the relay, so you won't lose any AM/FM reception. You still select the "broadcasting" frequency from your SIRIUS radio's FM transmitter menu, and tune your stereo to the same frequency.
Note: This modulator relay only works with the radios listed here; its miniplug connection is smaller than standard minijack applications. Please enter your vehicle information or call a Sales Advisor at 1-888-955-6000 to see if any antenna adapters or tools are needed to install this FM modulator. If you do need adapters, you'll be prompted to add them when you add this product to your order.

Product Research
Features
Overview: The SIRIUS FM switching box is designed to work with the Starbase, Starmate, or Sportster radios. The adapter allows a direct connection from the FM modulator output plug on the tuner to the antenna input on your car stereo. The benefit of this hardwired connection is much less potential for interference from broadcasts on adjacent FM frequencies.
Connections: The FM switching box features the following connections:
- To Radio: Male Motorola antenna plug on a 20" cable, plugs into the vehicle's AM/FM radio antenna input
- To FM Antenna: Female Motorola jack on the side of the switch box, accepts the vehicle's antenna cable
- SIRIUS Antenna: Male 2.5mm minijack on a 19.75' cable, plugs into the FM Out modulated output on the car kit
Installation: The FM Switching Box is typically mounted behind the dash, near the radio. In this case it's likely that no antenna extension cable will be needed.
Antenna Adapters: Some vehicles (such as select GM vehicles, Volkswagens, Nissans, etc.) may require antenna adapters in order to connect the FM Switching Box to your vehicle's OEM antenna connectors. Please consult the Crutchfield Vehicle Selector to see if OEM antenna adapters are needed.
Diversity Tuner: This product is not recommended for cars that have a diversity tuner.
